I usually like this genre of music, but there is just so much better stuff out there. A few of the songs on here, like "Karma Police", "No Surprises" and "Exit Music for a Film" are OK, but I find Thom Yorke's singing voice to be really irritating. The lyrics are for the most part flat and obscure, and I don't find any "deeper meaning" behind them. The actual instrumental parts of the songs aren't bad, and I do like the experimentation with different sounds, but it often fails epically, like in "Fitter, Happier".

WOW. This has to be the most boring album Ive ever listened to. I remember back in high school seeing kids wearing radiohead t-shirts and hearing all the art students go on about "radiohead, radiohead, radiohead." Ive tried over the years to get into their music time and time again, always to fail. First off, you cant even understand what the hell the singer is talking about. I can only imagine hes singing something to the tune of "no one understands me, I hate life, I cant relate to anyone, blah blah blah". Ive noticed over the years that the kind of people who listen to this music are usually depressed and pessimistic. And yes I realize the irony that my review is pessimistic, but I just had to get it off my chest how bad this album is. Just listening to this album makes me feel depressed and makes me want to kill myself. You want groundbreaking and innovative? Pick up Neutral Milk Hotel's "Aeroplane over the sea". Now theyres an innovative and different album that actually put... Read more

I didn't know much about Radiohead. I had heard great things about them but never heard anything they had released. But I sought out the videos, listened to the samples on Amazon and finally decided to take the plunge. I've heard all of their CDs now and I do believe this is my favorite. Not only that, but this is one of the greatest CDs of all time. Every song is has something to marvel at. It's different that it doesn't sound like they're repeating themselves but similar enough to make for a full album, one that can be enjoyed song by song or for the entire album. It's good. My favorites include the first, Airbag, Let Down, Electioneering, Climbing Up the Walls, No Surprises and The Tourist but they're all great. It's quite an achievement. Slower and more melodic than most music, but still enough rock to keep even the hardest of individuals amused. Other songs I like include Paranoid Android, Exit Music (For A Film), Karma Police, Fitter Happier (the computer voice g... Read more

And it is, Sorry I out of everybody hate being the 2 millionth person to say that. But I will say that this is one of those albums that completly opens your eyes. For example my older brother an Avid Nickelback, Daughtry, and Creed fan, came to me asking for advice on how to make his band better. I said that he should expand his horizons on and that he should listen to more music, besides linkin park. So being a good younger brother I gave him this cd, along with Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited", "London Calling, "And Yankee Hotel Foxtrot". My brother first looked at this and told me:" Are you kidding me, Radiohead sucks there only good song is creep. Besides what kind of name for a song, is "Subterranean Homesick Alien" or "Paranoid Android". After a couple of months I came back to him and asked him "H... Read more

Not as good as "The Bends" but still a damn good 90's album. Like much of Radiohead's work it's underrated drug/booze music.

One of the better titles to come out of that festering cesspool that encapsulated, and defined, late 90's music - T. Yorke and the boys stayed true to the rock verities, which seemed to have eluded them in their ensuing efforts. Their signature style of lofty guitar riffs, innovative rythm section, and the impressive texture and layering of the piano/keyboards were rife througout the LP. I always liked how Radiohead could pull off noticable and subtle dynamic shifts without sending their songs into a downward sonic spiral, this is best exempified by "Paranoid Android", a six minute epic which perfectly demonstrates the alternating time signatures and the afformentioned, dynamism, that was the hallmark of their first three records. In my view this was the third, and last of the great Radiohead albums, as their ensuing works were just too damn weird, even for me. ***edited

A modern-day masterpiece. If you've only heard a song or two, this is an ALBUM worth listening to. Anymore, artists seem to put out an album with one or two singles and a whole lot of fluff. This is not one of those albums, every song is great and one song to the next... amazing.

Radiohead established themselves as one of the most inventive and ambitious bands of all time with this album. The shifts in songs like Let Down and Exit Music (For a Film) are subtle yet incredibly effective. Each song is like a mini-masterpiece on its own, and combined, they make an unprecedently brilliant work of art. If there is one flaw in OK Computer, is that the songs tend to lack continuity. No song really sounds the same, and playing the album straight through will probably leave you feeling disoriented. It's a small price to pay for something this great, however. This and Siamese Dream are my picks for the best two albums of the 90's.

One of the most acclaimed records of the late nineties isn't quite all it's cracked up to be. Sure, it's undeniablre this is a brilliant piece of art. But the record suffers from being overly ambitious. Therefore, the listener is forced to see the beauty through the individual songs, instead of the album as a whole. Each track builds up the listeners appetite more and more, but after listening the album in its entirety, the you are left feeling bloated and stuffed. Still, this is by no means a bad album, it's just difficult if you don't understand what it's going for. it's almost like it's something you have have to concentrate very hard on and master it. Once you do, it's actually a vey rewarding album.

One of the very finest contemporary albums, voted the all-time #1 in a British poll not long back.A work of great originality and musical talent, lyrically distinctive, and sung with an expressive mellow lilt.It has a strange ethereal, haunting quality;i remember playing it in the car one dark, spooky winter night, and felt like i was gliding in an other-worldly sea of fog.It fits together as a whole quite beautifully.5 stars very definitely.(if only my computer were O.k.,though-it's taken ages to post this. One moment full of the joys, then reduced to feeling like Basil Fawlty thrashing his car in frustration!)

Awesome album loaded with brilliance. This band have moved on superbly, mixing radio friendly hits with hard edged rock riffs. Top lyrics, vocals and general playing from all concerned, shows a talent moving forward with a move Jazz free feel. Kid A was not a million miles away!!

Why, oh, why, didn't rateitall separate rock into a separate category from pop? How can you even compare Radiohead to Ricky Martin? They couldn't be more different. Radiohead has so much creative talent and Yorke's vocals are so passionate, I feel like I want to cry during some of the songs on this cd. The music is so complex and the lyrics are intruiging. It's the music I never knew I wanted, but when I heard it, it seemed to be exactly what I needed. Now, if only Radiohead would go back to making albums like The Bends and OK Computer...Kid A seemed a bit off the wall for me.

If you are a true fan of music O.K. Computer is for you. Its innovative sound and dark, paranoid lyrics make it one of the best of the 90's. Also check out The Bends, Kid A, and Amesiac and notice Radiohead's drastic changes as artists. They are all instant classics. Just a question; with the abundance of 5 star ratings why does this album only get a 2.97 rating? And WHY is Ricky Martin rated ahead of Radiohead?

Compared to their previous releases this is a step back. The Bends was their masterpiece. This is a band resorting to other things besides instruments because their running out of ideas.

This is one of the classics of all time, and started a new generation of bands in the late 90's. ALthough there has been some grea music since then, like new Our Lady Peace, and coldplay, there may not be another groundbreaking CD like OK Computer for quite a while.

These guys started a revolution in rock with this CD. Look at all the bands derived from this album these days!! they were so creative and original, and sounded like noone else. Sort of what the new Finley Quaye 'vanguard' has done recently. These artists have saved rock and creative thinking from dissapearing.!!

I don't think that any album at the time could compare to OK Computer.. Something about it just pulls you from this world and sends you to another. I love getting lost in this album and I think most other people will as well. There is no way to classify this album because it is in a category of it's own. Radiohead set a standard that not many could ever follow, if they dare to do so. One band that has stepped in that direction and conquered is OUR LADY PEACE. If you like this album you should seriously check out "Spiritual Machines" by OUR LADY PEACE.

Truly a work of art, O.K Computer will be talked about for generations beyond Radiohead's existence as a band. I twill become the 'Nevermind' of the new millenium. I didn't think Paranoid Android could get any better, until I saw them peform it live in Manchester last year. That memory will be with me for the rest of my life. To all fans who haven't heard either Lewis Mistreated, or Talk Show Host- both B-Sides- grab a listen as soon as you can. Only a band like Radiohead could have B-Sides that good.

This is the greatest album of all time. If you don't own it, buy it. Every song is awsome, and paranoid android is the greatest song ever made. Anyone who doesn't enjoy radiohead deserves to be shot, twice, and kicked also. Radiohead is so mellow and yet, so rock. They are also talented as well.

A classic. One of my favorite albums of all time - if not the favorite. Radiohead has (especially with songs like Airbag) changed what I thought music could be. It is fearsome and beautiful and I am still, on occasion, knocked speechless by it's power.

As with all Radiohead recordings each is a stepping stone in a new dirrection to which we will someday find out the final transformation of this band. OK Computer is but a step toward KID A and that a step toward greatness. I cannot for the life of me put this recording down as it reminds me of the sweetness of the Beatles at their finest moments and others such as Todd Rundgren and even the 80,s band Jellyfish. Clearly Thom Yorke took a vacation on this album to rest up for what was really troubling him that which would become KID A. OK Computer deserved a high rating but there should be one more star available for KID A to push the envelope a little higher.

You should have a 10 star rating cause this album, hell, this band would get it. I can honestly say they are the best rock band out today. They write some of the most amazing music I've ever listened to. You wont find good music like this on that joke of a station MTV.

This CD is a definite downer but it is a definate must buy. Whenever I'm sad or have had a bad day, I listen to Radiohead and I feel like someone else can feel my pain and empathize with me. Radiohead's Ok Computer is a perfect way to indulge in your pain without annoying all your friends.

This band is one of my ultimate favorite bands(besides Portishead). They actually sound somewhat like Portishead. I've been listening to Radiohead for seven years and they are still my all time favorite. I have all the Radiohead albums including the imported "Creep" single from Germany. Radiohead can often make me either laugh or cry. I feel I can totally relate to their music.

My favorite album ever. The third major release from Radiohead put them at the forefront of pop/alternative music. The range of their musicianship has grown so much from the previous album. All songs on this album have been my favorite at one time, and I remember "Subterranean Homesick Adieu" the first time. This song started everything for me as far as Radiohead.

I just got this album a couple of days ago and I really like it. I bought this CD because I heard it was a good one from friends and I have been wanting to expand my horizons of music. So, Amazon delievered. I have had it in the CD player since I got it. It is so good. I have listened to it while working on my computer, making dinner and even reading. It fits every mood. It surprised me when I heard it, that I knew a lot of songs already, I just never knew that they were by Radiohead. I am looking forward to really getting to know this album as well as getting other Radiohead stuff.

This is a really good, solid piece of Brit Pop. The album's "sound" is really full and the production/mixing is really good. The songs are fuller and more experimental then on previous albums- and the singer has a really good voice for this kind of music.
