Interesting school but not really a university to brag about. Mainly people go here for the football but that's it. Like someone said here before, the academics here are mediocre and the lack of intellectual ability and interest in fellow students is astounding.I even had a girl in one of my classes tell the professor that elephants ate peanuts naturally in the wild. Even if you are the best in your class, your professor will be too busy with upper division classes to get to know you personally. 100 level classes are usually taught with a TA or multiple TAs but mentored by the professor because of the sheer amount of people attending the class. The bureaucratic red tape for everything is annoying as hell and you can expect to get a parking ticket everywhere unless you have a parking pass or park your car in a private driveway. You can skip class if you want to, but don't even expect the professor to know your name if you ask for help. This campus is filled with hometown heroes constant... Read more

I had OSU buddies and spent time in Columbus- and in some ways, I regret that I didn't do my undergraduate work here. . .OSU has everything and all the advantages of a big school. . .it isn't for everyone- but it's a solid state-school institution.

I am a current OSU Student and I absolutely love it. In recent years the university has been making attempts to improve the quality of academics. For 11 straight years the incoming class of freshman has been better academically qualified than the previous. Because of it's massive size you can find anything that you want. If you like the party there is plenty of that, if you don't there sre tons of other things to be doing both on and off campus. Columbus is an amazing city: you could stay at OSU forever and never get bored. There are good and bad things about any university, but there is no where that I would rather be than The Ohio State University. Go Bucks!

The Ohio State business school (Max M. Fisher College of Business) is ranked in the top 15 in the country, the marketing program is 17th and real estate program is 3rd. Like many colleges, the quality of the college depends on the program that someone is involved in. I give the business school 5 stars, but I give the University as a whole 4 stars because of the size and cost.

I am an OSU grad and I found the whole place a mixed bag. Parties are great, academics are top-notch, and the city of Columbus is an amazing place to live and work. However, OSU is full of size-related problems. POOR academic advising, BAD administration, good luck talking to anyone helpful at financial aid or fees and deposits, parking is horrible, and just wait until you graduate....they will hound you weekly for money even though they just threw millions into stadium and other renovations. All the while you are making a measly $40,000 a year trying to pay off your education and they pay some freshman $8 an hour to harrass me at dinnertime for $25.

I'm an OSU grad, so I'm a bit biased. But whatever, a great school to do whatever it is your heart desires to do. Whether it's skipping class, studying like mad, doing keg stands, running a radio show, harrassing political candidates, making a name for yourself, or getting a job after school with a good employer. The school is balanced and has it all.

A great school whose size only helps make it better. It is a party school but its academics are top notch.

I noticed that all the negative comments were from Michiganders....typical..lol. I had a very good experience at OSU. Yes, there were zillions of other students. But, the experience made me grow up!

I graduated from Ohio State, and I am not an idiot! I happen to have a great job now. Just because OSU is a huge school doesn't mean they accept retards. If you don't study, you won't pass, and you won't graduate. Regardless of what OSU bashers think, they don't give you your degree if you fail all your classes (not even if you are the star football player). And so what if OSU is considered a "party" school?? What large state university isn't? OSU offers great classes and professors and makes the whole college experience a lot of fun and very memorable! And believe me, companies are more willing to hire graduates from a school they recognize...and who hasn't heard of Ohio State? OSU rocks!

I truly feel sorry for the total dufus Chief Wiggum whose laughable commentary can be viewed above. The biggest joke of all is how CORRUPT michigan univ is with all its 'bought and paid for' dirty sports programs, as well as a multitude of 'questionable admission policies' most recently exposed on CBS 60 minutes. I'm glad OSU admits ALL students of any color race or creed as it should be in the USA. The only real OSU snafu is driving the mean streets of Columbus, by all means use the city buses !! or bike around. The BIG problem here everone knows is how they won't FIRE J Cooper like they should (what a no talent coach geezus) anyhow good donut shops here and LOTS of part time jobs to help with moolah $$$ CRIME is a downer though do NOT repeat do NOT go out after dark for ANY reason

Ohio State has fantastic profs, departments, programs and facilities. It is big, but the campus "breaks down" by departments so that all the students have their own smaller campus. I will admit that dealing with the administration can be a pain, but the experience teaches good negotiation tactics. Oh and to "Anonymous" down there, pipe down Blueboy! Michigan fans can be loudmouths.

Ohio State is a good school with lots of programs, but it is too easy to get lost in the shuffle of all those people (50,000).

I truly feel sorry for the people who attend Ohio State. I wonder what it's like always living in the shadows of universities that are superior in every aspect (e.g., the University of Michigan). I guess that explains why Ohio State students have such a big chip on their shoulder. If I was stuck there, I'd be defensive too.
