As well they should. It's not just in the US that the Corporate Oligarchy is running amok. Multinational corporations virtually get away with murder in Third World countries, and they'll gladly turn us ALL into 3rd world countries if people don't wake up & fight back.

What angers me is not so much these people demonstrating as they have a right to, it's the Politicians constantly turning a blind eye at every corner who just simply don't give a crap. What makes me laugh is that the people who are criticising these "occupy" are the ones who don't have to go through what most people have to go through now on a daily basis. Constantly watching the pennies. We now have "Occupy St Paul's" which is set up right in the heart of London's square mile. They've been given until sometime in January before they get evicted. Today they mentioned in the newspapers that the UK is heading for a double-dip recession. I'm not surprised. George Osborne's plan is not only a fiasco, but a an absolute joke. Small businesses hire public sector workers and that way we get more growth? A child of four could have told you that wasn't the way to go. The politicians once again are in Denialville. Tomorrow there's a national strike with public sector workers about thei... Read more

It's significant, and it will continue to grow as the economic breakdown crisis escalates. Contrary to media claims, this is neither a recession or a depression in the classical sense. This is a financial and economic breakdown crisis that's motivated by massive fraud at the highest levels of the economy. Hundreds of trillions of dollars worth of derivatives and other forms of "insurance" are completely worthless. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. No matter what a couple of protesters on the street want or say, unleveraged debt has reached a critical mass. Trust in the system has broken down, interbank lending has frozen, new shipments are slowing down, as the economy begins to gradually grind to a halt. Change is coming, whether you like it or not. Kicking and screaming won't help, resisting that fact is futile and will only make things worse. The protests of the 1960's were motivated by young people not wanting to be conscripted into the Vietnam War and Civil Rights, along w... Read more

So far 'Occupy Winnipeg' has mainly been about testing out your winter camping gear. If they have had anything to say about the human condition they haven't yet been able to penetrate the local consciousness.

OWS is a bunch of pissed-off youngsters who are whining because they have realized they aren't going to get the entitlements they think they deserve. They want decent jobs, they want nice houses, they want nice cars, they want their ipods and ipads and iphones, and they want to save the whales and hug trees while doing it. They don't seem to get that their life, and everyone else here in the US of A, is about to drastically change. Go ahead and whine, people. It's not going to change anything. There's nothing you can do about it.

Right now Eschew Obfuscation is about to attack Cookie Monster with a billy club because someone told him "the hippie bums were on Sesame Street too."
