Sat Jun 19 2010Just another political cliche designed to make a candidate appear inclusive. All politicians make similar statements to one degree or another. It usually works too, especially the first time around.

Sat Jun 19 2010I think Obama is doing ok in this area. But I don't think that there are any Presidents that have come through 100 percent on anything they say they're going to do. The way I look at it, most of them just say what they want the people to hear so they can get elected to office.

Sat Apr 17 2010To respond to another reviewer's post, I fail to see what point he or she is trying to make. Are you kidding that Obama has failed to reach out to Republicans?? Democrats frittered away months trying to gain moderate Republican support for a health care bill; Obama has repeatedly given Republicans the opportunity to offer ideas. In the case of health care, the resulting bill was very moderate, similar to the Massachusetts one supported by Mitt Romney and U.S. Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) and featuring components like cuts to Medicare to balance the cost, something for which Senator John McCain campaigned, before he reversed himself and railed against it. In any case, I don’t understand how people can preach a balanced budget yet scream murder every time the words “raise taxe... Read more

Mon Jun 08 2009Obama has failed to reach out to Republicans, Gun Owners, Evangelicals, Conservative Jewish citizens, people that believe in a balanced budget, people that want to control spending, people that want energy independence from OPEC, people that don't want onerous taxation, people that don't think Washington does a good job of running things or people that love the US military. All of those groups Obama opposes. Obama claims America needs to apologize to Europe, the continent that gave the world Hitler and Stalin Obama did reach out to Venezuelan leftist dictator Hugo Chavez, (Chavez last week noted that even he was to the right of Obama politically) Obama listened to a diatribe against America from Nicargauan communist leader Daniel Ortega. Obama did reach out to Iran, but ignores Taiwan and other US allies. Obama reaches out to The Muslim world. When is he going to reach out to Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Lutherans and Prebyterians in this country?
