hi oasis is my all time fav rock band. They are one of biggest rock bands ever to come out of uk. Oasis music is really classic rock and at the same time very alternative rock. And thats whats makes me like them.I have got all their albums from definetly maybe to dont believe the truth. And all their songs are just great for listening. My favs are from standing on the giants album r go let it out,who feels love, sunday morning call, gas panic. From their earlier ones i definetly like rock n roll star, shaker maker, supersonic, cigarettes and alcholol, dont look back in anger, roll with iit, some might say, champange supernova.Wats else abt oasis they are one of the best rock bands of the world much better than present lot of bands like coldplay, kaiser chiefs, artic monkeys, franz ferdinand. So long live liam and noel and long live rock n roll...........

hi THE first time ever i listened to oasis was through their video of their song go let it out. From that time onwards i got completely hooked on to oasis.I think oasis were and are definetly one of the biggest and best rock n roll acts of this generation. No other band can ever be like them in terms of their style, music and attitude.Very few bands are there in this world who could match upto oasis in their fame are pearl jam and nirvana.Oasis are often being compared to the beatles, sometimes even called clones. But i think thats bull shit man the only band of the 90s that can match beatles is oasis.Oasis were definetly the fathers of brit pop genre with other bands like blur, radiohead and verve. Most of new bands like coldplay, artic monkeys, kaiser cheifs are inspired by Oasis but can never match them in fame and music. And this makes oasis definetly one of the best rock bands of all time ever to come out of UK.

You've really got to be pretty cloth-eared to find any merit in this simple, unadventurous and unoriginal music designed for the lumpenproletariat. And this is made all the worse by the Gallaghers' constantly trumpeting that they are the greatest band ever seen kinda tosh. However, none of this would be so bad were it not for the fact that they have all the charm of a 6 day old bag of sh*te.

Arrogance and egos aside, these guys are a pretty good British rock/indie band. Let's face it, like it or not you've all heard of Oasis and even remember their songs no matter how annoying you may find them. I think the quality of their work has been the best of British since the Beatles - not as good as the Beatles - as I honestly can't think of another band that's turned over as many good songs as these guys since that time; "Don't Look Back in Anger", "Wonderwall", "Don't Let it Out", "Champagne Supernova", "Hey Lyla", "Cigarettes and Alcohol" the list just goes on.

Hey Howdy Hey!! I think Oasis is really great! I know this might sound a tad sad but I know all of the words to; The Importance Of Being Idle. Their music is really catchy and you just can't get it out of your head. It can get so annoying.. it's gr8!!!

The Gallagher brothers, while rude and dysfunctional, put out, what I thought were some good substanative tunes in the mid-late 90's.

The Gallagher brothers are geniuses. I love the story of Liam and Noel throwing the Indigo Girls out of a back-stage party when the two bands toured together.

Songwriting reminicent of Slade/The Sex Pistols and the Jam (despite what Noel says about the Beatles) Oasis were one of the bright spots in mid-1990s rock. perfectly crafted rock/pop songs with clouded meaning and great guitar riffs. in a perfect world Oasis and people like Matthew Sweet would be pop-rock standard bearers. The band put out 2 of the best rock albums of the 90s w/Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story)Morning Glory. the have since slipped amidst weaker songs and band turmoil. but i still look forward to every album in the hope Oasis will regain its glory.

They are an incredible talented and awe-inspiring band if you buy their first cd Definetely Maybe, the fastest selling debut CD of all time in the UK. They are gods in everywhere but America...once again showing that although we invented rock n roll, we apprently don't appreciate it in the states when it comes to thanking Oasis. Check them out live and download/buy their cd's. They are once in a lifetime.

A mediocre jobbing pub band that struck it lucky because the UK music scene was in a dire state. The Gallaghers are 2 of the most obnoxious and arrogant tossers ever to have walked the planet. In musical terms there are several reasons why they suck badly. 1. all the 'melody' is in the vocal, with the poorly strummed electric guitars doing little more than provide accompaniment, like dodgy buskers. 2. many of the melodies have been ripped off not just the Beatles but also Slade and Gary Glitter. 3. the quality of 'musicianship' is low, rarely rising above 4/4 rhythms.

First let me dismiss the claims that they sound like, or are as good as the beatles. i heard a quote from one of the gallagher brothers which said that they are doing the kind of music the beatles would be doing if they were still together, and alive. i have not heard anything of real substance from these, some pretty basic rock and roll, which is good for about one listen. they also do ballads (woo hoo), whats new hear? wheres the innovation? where's the quality? music seems to be regressing; everything that was amazing about the 60's and 70's in music has apparently been forgotten. after the beatles, the rolling stones, the beach boys, bob dylan, led zepplin, john lennon, the who, elton john. what have we got? oasis? give me a break.

although they seem to be a bunch of beatle wannabes, they do have a few good songs. (More than the Beatles ever had) A few that come to mind are "Don't look back in anger", "Don't go away", and "live forever".

I often used to find myself defending my interest in Oasis, but now i've come to realize that I shouldnt have to. They are a true rock 'n' roll band in every sense, sure they're pretentious jerks but that's only because they're honest. Noel doesnt care what other people think, he says the things that no one else will say. As for the music, they dont really steal, they more or less use stuff for inspiration and expand on it and that is where Noel's brilliancy exists. They're not the Beatles, never have been never will be but that doesnt mean they're not great. Noel doesnt sing enough as he has a beautiful voice, in case you've forgotten he's the one that sang the emotional "Dont Look Back In Anger". So please quite trash-talking this band, they saved rock in 94 with Definately, Maybe and immortilized themselves with (What's the Story?) Morning Glory. Listen to the words that are being sung and you'll truly be touched. "An extraordinary guy can never have an ordianary day. He might live... Read more

Their popularity (suprisingly enough) dwindled fast. As much depth and meaning their music is, I'm still shocked that they don't get the exposure today as they did in 1995-96. It's a real shame because they've, ewven Liam, have gotten wiser and more mature as they get older and it shows in their music.

I wish some of you 'Oasis haters' would stop winging. Oasis create some of the greatest and catchiest songs. Ok, they may be influenced by the Beatles, they may even steal from the Beatles but they dont hide it, they're honest with what they do. I personally think they ARE better than the Beatles, when the Beatles were at their prime they WERE the music industry, there was no competition, since then things have developed greatly. There are many great bands around these days which makes it alot harder to be considered the 'greatest'. Anyway, thats my opinions. Top band, seeing them live soon too :D

One of the best Rock and Roll bands over the last decade. Do people still play Rock and Roll. Beatles rip offs? I've been listening to Oasis since 1994 and I've never heard them sound like the Beatles. They sound like Slade sometimes and maybe when Liam gets real sneery, they sound like the Sex Pistols, But the Beatles?? Nah, that's just nitpicking. Oasis opened the doors for other lesser english bands like Radiohead and the indistiguishable sound of groups like, Coldplay, Travis, Doves, and Starsailor. I can understand why the US doesnt like Oasis, we dont like any band or artist, unless they are trying to sell us soda on tv. Oasis might be pompous but that's becasue they dont need you.

Oasis is the tops.....in arrogance. Their egos are so large, they think they're better than The Beatles. I'd like to see their huge egos deflated by some setback or failure and maybe then they'd shut their big mouths. Being conceited and all they deserve to fall from grace, I wouldn't feel bad at all! I'd like to see these jerks get what's coming to them!

hey, i'm not a beatles freak, but that oasis suggest that they are better than the beatles is ridiculous! at least i can listen to the beatles without my ears bleeding. by the way, noel and liam, i know of a very good surgeon who can extract the bananas from your noses: that whiny "singing" has got to go!!!!

Oasis used to be good - great in fact. five years on, however, and they've run out of ideas - they rely on Liam whining and lots of guitars, but no inspiration. Definately Maybe was brilliant, Morning Glory was good, but after that they only made a couple of good songs. They should quit before they become too much of an embarassment.

I think their first two albums were fantastic, then it was all downhill from there. They got arrogant and conceited and took the 'rebals of the music industry' too far. They are blatantly trying to copy The Beatles too much. Absolute crap.
