Can you imagine how many records there must be in the Yankee Stadium bleachers? And I don't mean record albums or marks of singular achievement.

If I could give Loerke two helpfuls I would. Yankees fans are THE spoiled bitches of baseball, even with the way the Red Sox fans are trying to take their title...

While Red Sox fans tend to be more annoying, nobody rivals Yankee fans for boorish behavior. It's hard to generalize from any isolated experiences (if I did, I'd think Mets fans were the most violent psychos on the planet and Dodgers fans the most indifferent) but seeing a whole stadium full of fans booing their own players because they were in a slump is proof positive. The smallest perceived slight (such as Papelbon's suggestion that he might now rival Rivera as a closer before the 2008 All-Star Game) will drive these overly entitled jerks into a frenzy. Playoff performances that would delight any other fan are not acceptable unless they involve winning the World Series. Rude, narcissistic, myopic.

These come in two varieties: Firstly the type who lives in NY and shows up in the stadium. These are arrogant, frequently hostile, sometimes dangerous, but usually knowledgeable. The battery throwing routine is real special too. Version two lives somewhere else, knows nothing about baseball except the Yankees win a lot of World Championships, frequently wears a NY hat that is some other colour than Navy Blue, and is as ignorant a baboon who pulled on pants. A lot of them seem to be having a tough time with their loyalties, now that Steinbrenners all-stars haven't won the big series for 7 years.

they are certainly the worst fans i've ever been around. the chants, the violence toward ANYONE not wearing a Yankee hat, the fact that b/c they are in NYC they have no clue about the economics of baseball and say dumb things like well, if only the Pirates would quit trading their player, and pay them more. i even hate their look--fuzzy moustache etc.

Yankees fans are so arrogant. I know several up here in NH - I don't mind if you were born and raised in NY, I'd expect you to support your team nonetheless, but the epitome of SKANK is native New Englanders who are Yankees fans! UGH LOSERS!! Here you have the greatest team of all time as your home/local team and you follow the YANKEES????? Gimme a break, fair weather fan!!! I'll take years of pain, heartache, devotion, longing and love for the reward I got this October. Yankees fans and their the universe will right itself and we will be on top again, like we always are and the Red Sox will always lose blah blah blah. You my friends are the losers is more ways than one. You couldn't BUY the team chemistry that we had these last few years - and it paid off. That's what we do here in New England - we build and support TEAMS. Like the Red Sox (World Champions) and the Patriots (World Champions).

their team is in the hunt almost every year because someone sold his soul to the devil sometime in 1919 or 1920. their owner has more money than god and spends it like a drunken sailor in a whorehouse. i would like to see how full yankee stadium would be if they had about 10 losing seasons in a row and george steinbrenner went bankrupt.

I thought it was really idiotic for the fans in New York to throw baseballs and garbage down onto the field in Game 6 and Game 7 of the ALCS playoffs. I mean, c'mon, your own players are out there, too! They could have seriously hurt someone. Some arse even threw his cellphone down there. Wow -- their brilliance is amazing.

Yankee fans are generally the most ignorant fans on the planet. They assume they have some God-Given birth right to success because their owner has exploited the strength of his market moreso than any other franchise in sports history. That being said the Yankees out spent the second highest payroll in the league by over 60 million dollars! Do you realize what 60 million dollars can buy? There are teams in the leage that don't spend that for their whole team. Beyond that however there is nothing more sickening to me than these bandwagon Yankee losers who don the caps and gear and put down all the other teams without knowing squat about baseball. Lets see where they go if the Yankees don't win for a decade, or four. Maybe if they taste some real defeat they'll appreciate true victory.

There are a lot of good Yankee fans, but they just get on my nerves because they always win and they feel sorry for themselves when they're in a one year drought.

They aren't as smart about baseball as they think. They are somewhat spoiled because they think that the season is simply a formality meant to hand them a world series trophy. . .I can't stand them.
