Norton Antivirus

How the hell did this get 3.10. This is one of the worst anti-viruses out there. Stop getting shafted by this and go get a better one (ex. Kapersky, Bitdefender, McAfee)

People that give norton 5* are either A working for the company or B look at line A.NOTON IS THE WORST EVER DON'T EVER PUT ON YOUR SYSTEM.IF YOU HAVE A BRAND NEW SYSTEM WITH IT ALREADY ON IT.REMOVE AT ONCE~NOTON YOU SUCK!!!!!!

Used Norton for over 12 years.Never had any problems with it. I would never recommend any other Anti virus software to anyone.

Norton is the worst virus program I have ever used. Recently had a number of glitches and issues with my computer. I uninstalled Norton and found that every single issue had been resolved. I would recommend using AVG. It is free and I haven't a single issue since I started using that instead.

Biggest resource hog around. Too many useless features. Compatibility issues. Questionable buisness practices. Many better (and free) alternatives. Avoid!

I purchased Norton Internet Security 2007 in September of 2007.  It was supposed to come with a one-year subscription.  But, on the three-month anniversary of the installation, it gave me a message saying that my subscription had expired.  Norton's tech support was worthless.  Instead of actually helping me, they just kept e-mailing me links to irrelevant pages of their FAQ page.  Finally they just stopped responding to my e-mails.  So I gave up and bought BitDefender Internet Security 2008.  Whenever I ran a scan with Norton, it said that my system was clean.  But my first scan with BitDefender turned up 69 threats.

I watched it fail to pick up bug bear in a *.chm check disk file, from an old email that had been infected with it. Bit-Defender located more generic Trojans embedded in the system. It failed me.

Cause more problems than it fixed..

Norton seems to do a very adequate job of protecting my computer from threats. The problem I have with it is that the program just take up so much resources. I have it on two computers. One has a very fast processor, its new. The other is a few years older and has a processor half the speed of my new one. Norton doesn't seem to slow down my newer computer so much, but my older one takes forever to boot up because of having to load such a large program. For that reason, I am strongly considering another program with this subscription runs out.

Have had nothing but trouble with this program and especially the company. Their support is terrible and ineffective. Paid for support that didn't resolve problem and was asked for more funds to actually correct the problem. Can it all really be this bad? I had purchased this in the Internet Security bundle and acquired two copies. Over $100 worth of software that doesn't work. Ouch!

Notwithstanding the prior reviewer's reservations regarding Symantec software, Ive been very pleased with Norton Internet Security, which comes bundled with the anti-virus program. Not only is my computer virus-free (at least it seems that way), but the package comes with free upgrades for a year, the upgrades and virus definitions download automatically (with LiveUpdate enabled), and the package comes with Norton's firewall and anti-spam features. The only material problem I've experienced is that some websites won't load or work properly with Norton enabled, but I probably just haven't configured by browser correctly.

Beware of packaging tricks. Not all Symantec products are compatible with each other anymore. Many of us IT guys are leaving Symantec because of major lockups with different versions.
