Wow!!! What a great experience. I haven't been to the dentist in about 5 years, needless to say I was very nervous. When I got there the front desk lady was so nice and had such a cheery disposition and was smiling and it made me feel very comfortable. When I got back there the assistant took xrays on me so they could see what I needed to have done. I have never dealt with dental insurance before so I was was a little leary about how it was all going to work. After looking at my xrays the dentist came in and let me know all the work I needed done. Dr. LeCann was very nice and informative she took her time with me and answered all of my questions. When I was done and was walked back up front the lady at the desk went over all the charges for me and how my insurance worked. It was very informative and they are even going to do estimates for me and I was approved with their payment plan. I am actually looking forward to getting my dental work done there. I will finally have a nice... Read more

I really liked my hygienist, she was very thorough and took her time with me...I don't think I've ever had such a good cleaning. Everyone was really nice.

I went to this office because I liked that they advertised for sedation dentistry. I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time because I'm scared of dental procedures like alot of people. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. They had my xrays and cool pictures of my teeth on a computer in the room I was seen in so I could see where the cavities were in my teeth. The dentist came in after they cleaned my teeth and went over my treatment and even took the time to explain more things to me. I've always wanted whiter and straighter teeth but have been too scared of going to the dentist so I've been putting it off. I'm so glad I found Dr. LeCann's office because they are very nice and thorough!! I am relieved to know I have a place that makes me feel comfortable enough to get my dental work done.

I am fearful of dentists so I was searching for a dentist that does sedation. Saw their website and THOUGHT this place sounded perfect. Once there I did not get a good feeling.Dr. LeCann saw me and told me I needed to see an endodontist to have a root canal. She wanted to send me to a endodontist in Cary because "she's a woman and good". Another dentist is doing a filling on the same tooth. I had the first appt of the day and people (I later learned were the hygenists) are just looking at me sit in the office while they drink their morning coffee. The same guy whom I watched have his coffee came in to take my x-rays. he was nice, but I think very inexperienced as he took more x-rays than usual. When I inquired about why so many x-rays, he explained that I had a large mouth (which I don't---I'm missing 4 major teeth due to braces) and that he missed them on the previous x-rays and needed to take them again. I was under the assumption that this office did everything from their w... Read more

I had been going to North Hills Family Dental for about a year using Medicaid. Everyone that posted prior to me are absolutely CORRECT!!! My prior dentist retired after I had been to him for 30 years. NEVER had a problem with fillings and once NHFD got ahold of my teeth, all of a sudden I had to have ALL of my teeth (top, front) filled. They drilled them out and put in tooth colored filling, now it's a year later and my fillings are coming out. I brush my teeth 2xday and floss. I no longer have Medicaid and they do not warranty ANY of their work. I always felt like they rushed and did not take any time to REALLY examine my teeth. Unfortunately, I can't afford to have their mess-up fixed and am starting to lose my teeth from the decay left by fillings coming out. I do not recommend anyone going to this dental practice!!!! That's the key word.....practice, because they really don't seem to know what they're doing!!!

This place is terrible. It looks nice but from my experience it's just a money mill. I got the impression they are cranking out patients as fast as they can just to make money and are not concerned at all with quality of care. I had a lot of work done (over $3k) and not only did they screw up my bill but did not even put my crowns on correctly. My girlfriend goes there also (although not any longer) and they have screwed up her billing more than twice, overcharging, charging for work not done, and even performing unauthorized work on her son and then trying to bill her for it. The only good thing I can say about them is they knocked me out completely ( I am terrified of the dentist and use sedation). I would not send my worst enemy to this place.

Thankfully I read these reviews after my initial appointment and was spared. I hope you do the same. I, like the previous reviewers, believe this dental office is trying to take advantage of medicaid patients and assumes that their patients would not know any better about their own dental care. I also believe that they have no fear of abusing the system because they believe that their patients will have no means of getting a second opinion if their patients feel something is wrong. I was also told, like several other reviewers, that I had four cavities. I also had a hole on the side of one of my molers which I had to point out to them because they didn't even notice. I was told that the only thing they could do was extract the tooth. I had never had a cavity in my life. I had my teeth sealed in high school. They scheduled an appointment to fill in my cavities and told me that extraction of my moler would cost $925. I knew something was wrong so I had another dentist look at my teeth an... Read more

I visited this dentist and was told that I had many cavities and needed my wisdom teeth removed. I was referred to the only oral sureon that they deal with which was Dr. Won. Dr. Won inevitably severed the nerve in my mouth, and I no longer can feel on one side of my chin. I believe that both dentists take advantage of the Medicaid patients that they help. I have sincfe reported the incident to the Dental Board, and I would suggest anyone who has had a bad experience with either one of these dentists to do the same. No one will ever no that they are not good dentists if you don't let the dental society know ( the people who are trained to look into this kind of behavior). I have since seen another dentist and was told that the cavities did not exist.

The receptionist is very rude. I just tried to make an appointment for a cleaning. Somehow the whole conversation got out of hand and she ends up telling me that me and my family are not welcome at North Hills Dental anymore and hangs up on me. So far I didn't have any problems with them as far as care is concerned but I guess I'll have to look for a new dentist now....

I decided to change dentist after one treatment there. The staff (other than the receptionist who is friendly and seems to care) seemed distracted or bored. After my cleaning I was made to wait for 30 minutes for the dentist who determined after she got there that I didn't need to wait for her. Not to mention the dentist (a female) kept calling me "honey" and 'sweetie" which was very annoying. Overall I just didn't get a good feeling here and went to see another dentist at another practice and realized instantly that I wanted to be at their office and not North Hills Dental.

I do not know specifically about all of the dentists in this practice, however, I have had a dental exam by Dr. Karen Torres, Dr. Cobhams associate. I do NOT recommend Dr. Torres. She told me I needed three fillings. I went to my old dentist to pick up xrays and told my hygenist that I was going to a new dentist for fillings and I was told to get a second opinion as there was no decay in my teeth just six months prior. I went for my fillings appointment and asked Dr. Torres was she sure there was decay and she said she didn't know until she got in there to drill. I ended up leaving the office before I got my fillings to get a second opinion that same afternoon. I was told I had no decay by a very highly regarded denstist in Raleigh who has been practicing for over 40 years. Two days later I went to another dentist and was told the same thing, there is no decay in my mouth. Dr. Torres obviously is just trying to make a buck and fill people's teeth when there are no cavities. ... Read more
