I never thought after 5 major back surgeries, 2 steel rods, 4 steel screws, insertion of a cadaver disk, 16 pins, a chiropractor would ever be able to help me with my chronic back pain. Boy was I wrong. Years after trying to manage my chronic back pain with prescription drugs and surgeries I finally found relief. I have been able to stop taking prescription drugs and start a exercise routine thanks to Dr. Markos. Now I'm a believer.

I was referred to Dr. Cheri Markos and have since been going to her and only her! She gives individual treatment, not just the same adjustments to everyone. She knows my body and treats what needs to be treated. She is extremely insightful and observant, very well educated and a pleasure. I completely trust Dr. Cheri Markos and I refer every chance i get!

I started seeing Dr. Markos two months ago. I have 2 -18" herrington rods in my back due to scholiosis. i have always had lower back pain since surgery, 17 years ago. I have been to multiple doctors, all with the same prognosis. they send me to get an x-ray and then send me down the road with some asprin and a followup appointment. No doctor has EVER actually sat and listened to me, until I went to Dr.Markos. In my initial visit, we spent over an hour going over past x-rays, diagnosing and finding the root of my problem. she knew exactly what my problem was. Since I have rods in my upper back, my lower lumbar takes all of my strain. I have been to chiropractors before, with little or no relief. I have had 200lb doctors work on me, working areas that I didnt need. I have also been seen for my feet. I work on several boats transiting thruought the puget sound. i am constantly working on vibrating boats and have plantar fasciitis. i am finding relief in my feet as well as my back. I... Read more

My dad suggested I see his chiropractor when my neck was stiff with little ability to move it. This was over a year ago. After one appointment I felt back to normal. So, now time has gone by. I ended up going back because my hip would freeze up and lock causing me to screech a little in pain (mind you, I'm in my mid-20s). Took more than one appointment and she reminded me that I need to stay on schedule, or at least come back for follow ups occasionally. Now I'm commited, plus I love the feeling of being adjusted. She can relieve pressure that I wasn't even aware I had! Also, to newbies who are visiting her, the loud noise of her equipment can be a little off-putting to someone who doesn't know what it is, but dispite the annoying loud noise, it's SO helpful. Kinda relaxing when it's wiggling ya up and down if you can get into the right frame of mind.

I sought out chiropractic care as a last resort to treat a back injury over a year ago. Today, I recommend chiropractic care to everyone I know! Dr. Markos is hands-down the best care provider I've ever had. She is attentive, intelligent, down to earth and intuitive. I feel like she understands me and my body- I wish all doctors were like her! I experienced immediate pain relief after my first adjustment, and with each adjustment I've become a healthier (and happier) person. The physical and emotional benefits of chiropractic care have been amazing, and I wouldn't chose to live without it now.

When we moved to the area, I asked a friend for a good chiropractor, and received glowing recommendations for Dr. Marcos. I was surprised and impressed with her techniques. She was able to accurately diagnose the problems and fix them. She is well educated and helps educate her patients. I was in two car accidents and was left unable to walk due to other complications. In addition to excellent hands-on treatment, she gave me exercises which have helped in my recovery. Dr. Marcos has contributed more to my recovery than other health care providers. My teen-age daughter came to Dr. Marcos and I was amazed at the work she was able to with my daughter's back and the education Dr. Marcos provided her. I would recommend Dr. Marcos to anyone without hesitation. She is a vitimin to my life.

While I was originally skeptical about chiropractic in general, I am sold on Dr. Cheri Marcos. She is excellent. She is skilled, knowlegable, insightful and caring. She seems to know exactly what to do for a variety of problems, some that I didn't think chiropractic could address. I had an old bicycle injury from decades ago, plus a recent sternal rib fracture from an auto accident. This was on top of chronic problems with my neck and back from years of desk work. Dr. Marcos is able to address my needs in a professional and personal manner. My wife suffered from lumbar polyradiculitis and has been unable to walk until recently, due in great part to Dr. Marcos' healing skills. Dr. Marcos has, in her own way and within her scope of work, contributed more to my wife's ongoing recovery than all the other physical therapists, rahabilitation therapists, and neurologists put together.

I had never gone to a chiropractor before because I never believed they actually did anything. But after going through the HMO route and getting no results whatsoever, I decided to give Dr. Markos a shot. She was amazing. She patiently explained why chiropractors were important and what it was they did. She made all of my aches and pains go away after just a few sessions, including aches and pains I didn't know I had until she made them disappear. Dr. Markos is great--I've recommend her to all my skeptical friends and family.

About three weeks ago I hurt my back playing table tennis. I didn't listen to my body and kept playing for a few days, and finally the next Monday, my back was hurting so bad I could barely get off my bed! I felt intense pain when I walked and sat down, so I decided I needed to see a chiropractor for the first time in my life. Thanks to this website and fellow reviewers, I found North City Chiropractor Health. During the first visit, Dr. Markos patiently listened to all my concerns and evaluated my condition. She explained each adjustment to me before making it to make me feel comfortable, and also explained to me what was causing the pain in my back, something I really appreciated. After the first adjustment, my back pain didn't improve much. Two days later, after my second adjustment, my back pain dramatically improved! I could hardly believe it!! In fact, I felt so good afterward, that I played table tennis for 2-3 hours each day for the next couple of days, without pain! After ... Read more

I started seeing Dr. Markos in June when I hurt my ribs. She treated that injury and has moved on to other chronic pain issues I have struggled with for the past 40 years. This last week she noted limited range of motion in my left hip and did a treatment that released it. This is HUGE for me. I have consulted orthopedists, physical therapists, massage therapists, osteopaths trying to get help with this hip. They variously told me the problem was my lower back, there was no problem, or there was nothing they could do. I hadn't told Dr. Markos about the hip but she noted the problem and worked on it. She told me it would feel better when I stood up and it did. This was three days ago. Since then I worked out at the gym and spent 5 hours each of the last two days out in the yard, pulling up blackberries and raking leaves. Strenuous work! Very little pain. I haven't felt this good in years. I can't say enough about her. She really knows her stuff. I've done a lot of body work i... Read more

Dr. Markos is amazing! I have been seeing Dr. Markos for many years and I continue to be amazed by her capabilities and intuitive care. Over the years I have gone for several different reasons and every time I come away feeling wonderful and thankful to have found such a wonderful chiropractor and person! From chronic neck problems due to an accident, to a rib out of alignment making breathing difficult, to a hip/pelvic misalignment from a life long leg length difference, to foot alignment so my Berks felt again like a glove for my feet, all these and more have been professionally and compassionately treated for a very reasonable price & timeline. Saying the "Best in Shoreline" is probably an understatement and should be "Best in the greater Seattle area"! I would highly recommend Dr. Markos for all that ails you and some things you don't even know that ails you!

Being from the medical community, I feel as though I can write that Doctor Markos is truly the best Chiropractor in the Puget Sound area. She listens to her patients and take her time, not rushed. She truly has the touch of "GOLD". You know what I'm saying if you 've ever been treated by a gifted Doctor. As a patient you will not be disappointed. Once you have been treated by her, you also will ring the bells to her abilities. Great person on top of being a great Doctor.

I was in an accident about a month ago and was in a lot of pain. I work full-time and go to school full-time so I needed a female chiropractor who understood my schedule, my level of pain, was easy to get to and had flexible hours. My mom looked up Dr. Markos in the Yellow Pages and I went in for a consulation 3 days after the accident. Dr. Markos took me on the same day even though it extended beyond her regular office hours. Her receptionist was VERY friendly and helpful in booking the appointment, and always has a cheerful attitude. Her office was easy to find, close to the freeway, and has plenty of free/easy parking that is easy to get in and out of. Dr. Markos took the time to understand what I wanted out of my treatment, where the pain was, and told me exactly what to expect going forward. She took ownership of my situation and came up with an effective treatment plan. I have been seeing her two times a week from that time, and my pain has gone down a considerable amount. I am... After ONE SINGLE visit, without extensive and expensive x-rays, Dr. Markos changed the shape of my neck--flattening out my 25 year + dowager's bump. Right now, I want the thousands of dollars spent on chiro care and so so massage therapists back and a do-over without pain of the last few decades. By the third visit she has found just what a prior reviewer stated; injuries or pain that I hadn't even mentioned on the intake. PROS: Intuitive, caring, kind, affordable, a true healer--a straight shooter. Sweetheart of a receptionist/billing gal too. Convenient location, good parking. And you will leave better than you came in. CONS: Yes, the wait times are a bit lengthy. But, she gives EACH patient attentive care, so good things come to those who wait. A bit musty smelling due to age of building...but again, you aren't there long enough--so if a fussy one like me can get over it so can you. My excellent (current , as soon as I can afford you again, Theresa) massage therapist ... Read more

Was a patient for a few years, got to a good monthly maintence routine...ened up having to go elsewhere due to new insurance plan/low wages & inability to pay out of pocket on my own...tried a few appointments with a couple of other chiropractors and ended up deciding to go without the care since they weren't actually doing anything of benefit until I could afford to come back to Dr. Markos. While other chiropractors don't seem to actually listen to what's ailing the patient Dr. Markos takes time to listen and then ACTUALLY FIXES THE PROBLEM! The others I saw would just focus on the neck and back...Dr. Markos pays attention to the entire body and how everything is functioning. An amazing health care experience!

I have had a presistant neck pain & frozen shoulder for many years from a fall from a bicycle, over a decade ago. I have had PT and other chiropractic care performed, but was limited by my health plan and the then current pain and meagre committment on my part. Finally, I am getting some relief! I am receiving wonderful care from Dr. Markos at a reasonable rate and her office accepts an insurance plan that other offices may not. She is very personable and an individual who may well become a valuable permanent friend.

I started seeing Dr. Markos for balance and gait issues due to Multiple Scleroris (MS). I saw improvements after my first treatment in being able to stand up straighter and walk a little faster. Over time, I've gotten to the point where I don't need to use my cane as often and no longer fall regularly! There are a lot of good things about Dr. Markos and her staff, but the best is that you are treated like a whole person, not just a case. They are also friendly, interesting, and have flexible hours.

I was a patient at another chiropractic office and always felt like the goal was to get the patients in and out as quickly as possible, always doing the same adjustments regardless of what issue you were having. With Dr. Markos she actually listens to what you have to say and adjusts accordingly. Visits don't take only 5 minutes because she takes the time to listen to you and your body to find out what the problems are. She took care of my pregnancy related sciatica in just a few visits and actually recommended that i scale back on the visits to save them for later in my pregnancy. A chiropractor who actually focuses on the needs of the patient and not on their wallet! How refreshing! Dr. Markos has my business from now on!

Before I met Dr. Markos, I was the biggest chiropractic wimp. After 5 other chiropractors, I was ready to give up and live with my stiff and immobile neck. Luckily, I found Dr. Markos. She is by far different than any other chiropractor -I could tell she understood me as she listened to my whiny concerns and hesitations. Then she worked her magic - making me feel comfortable as she freed my neck of years of immobility from a car accident and recent ski accident. Not only did she free up my neck, but my hips, ribs (wow! I can breathe) and shoulder. She innately knows what you need when you need it and will use different techniques that address your specific need. You will not find a better professional who you can trust. She is a master at her profession and I can't recommend her enough.

I went to Dr Marcos for injuries I had sustained from a wild ride and fall from a horse in training. I have seen several chiropractors in the past for similar injuries, from mediocre, to fairly good. I was so impressed with the adjustments I received from Dr. Marcos. Not only did she get my acute back injury flexible in short order, she also, somehow knew about, asked about, and treated, old chronic conditions I did not tell her about, and had thought were beyond hope .I was back in the saddle again shortly after the incident. Thanks to you Dr Marcos!

Back pain has been a part of my life since an auto accident 11 years ago. I've been to many chiropractors, physical therapists, and all the western medicine I could stand -- all of which gave me very temporary if any relief. In June I mowed my lawn and was unable to walk for 4 days. I went for more medical treatments. Finally I decided to bite the bullet and drive to Shoreline from North Everett and see Dr Marcos. After a few months treatment I was able to not only walk, I have been able to go skiing!!

Dr. Markos was able to help me far down the road to recovery in a single visit. Excercising is an important part of my life, and I had been experiencing sciatic pain that kept me from working out for two weeks. During that period I visited another chiropractor four times without an accurate diagnosis or nociceable improvement. During my first visit with Dr. Markos, she quickly diagnosed my problem and was able to treat me effectively right away. I was able to run two miles the following day with minimal discomfort, and within three days I was able to resume running and biking at my previous levels with no pain at all. It was almost too good to be true to go from so bad to so good in such a short time. Her ability to listen to me and diagnose my problem was truly impressive, and her treatment was equally skillful. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr Markos is undoubtedly the very best chiropractor I've ever seen. I have had back pain for 10 years and have found very little relief over the years. I've seen orthopedists, physical therapists, and a whole wide range of chiropractors -- all of which gave me very temporary if any relief from my chronic pain. I've been seeing Dr. Markos for 5 weeks now and I have been consistently feeling better. She has virtually eliminated my migraines (something I thought would never go away). I also have a particularly unique back condition that has proven very difficult to work with in the past. She has come up with all sorts of ways to modify her normal adjustment methods to work just for me! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone in pain!

I had lived with chronic back pain for 20 years before I found Cheri Markos. I had been to a variety of doctors, surgeons, physical therapists and other chiropractors, ranging from good to useless. In my experience, Cheri Markos is the best in the field. After some very effective and sensitive treatment, I felt whole for the first time in years.. At this point, she has fixed my pain to the point that I only go every now and then after a strain or injury. The quality of my life has dramatically improved. I would recommend her to anybody (and I frequently do). Dianne M.

I was injured in a head on collision on the freeway 15 years ago. I saw a variety of doctors, therapists and chiropractors while on the road to recovery. Dr. Markos is the 6th chiropractor I have been to, and she is also the best. She has an uncanny ability to diagnose (to me) unseen problems, at one time independently confirming what a surgeon saw in an x ray, but, unlike him, was able to gently correct without scalpel (or disability). I am also a very tall and large person, and Dr. Markos does a great job at adjustments requiring strength ( something I have not always found with others.) I lead a very active and athletic life, and my injuries often end up in her capable hands. I always walk out feeling better than when I limped in, and some old wounds that bothered me for years have vanished under her care. I actually have trouble remembering which shoulder I injured in that crash, and I am certain that Dr. Markos is the reason. Look no further.

I have been receiving chiropractic care for 25 years now and have visited many chiropractors in that time. I have come to believe that Cheri Markos is the best chiroprator that I have patronized. She truly listens to your description of your aches, pains, needs, and concerns and then follows through with a complete session. She is one of the few chiroprators that I know of that can address all parts of the human body and is especially knowledgeable and skilled with the extremities (arms, legs, feet, hands, etc.). She really helped my shoulders, elbows, knees, and even my jaw to name just some of my problem areas. Cheri Markos is what a chiropractor should be and is definitely well worth the reasonable rates she charges. I very highly recommend her.

When I first visited Dr. Markos my back was in full spasm. She thought I had been in a severe car accident. She asked me 3 times if I was sure I had not had a car accident. The severity of my back, left hip, both feet, and neck were so out of place that I couldn't sit, lay down or stand without severe pain. I had been living in pain for 12 years. I had gone to 5 other chiropractors with no relief. I was unable to work and was becoming depressed from chronic pain. Dr. Markos' technics literally unwound my body muscle by muscle. I saw her 5 days a week for a solid month (my choice) and saw astounding results. Eventually I could last an entire day on my feet, then several days. It was a huge day in my life when I could walk to the end of the block and the 2nd big day was when I could actually walk around the block. I am proud to say that I can now walk for miles, do yard work, lift things, practice my yoga, lift weights, and sing freely again. My muscles are strengthening ins... Read more

Dr. Markos has significantly helped several members of my family. When another chiropractor was no longer making a difference with my congenital SI joint and its related spinal issues, I found Dr. Markos. She employed techniques that have greatly improved my quality of life. I feel so much younger! When my oldest daughter visited for ankle problems that have plagued her since adolescence, Dr. Markos not only helped with adjustments but taught my daughter techniques that my daughter has been able to use no matter where in the world she travels. When my 6 month old grandson came from England with some spinal adjustments needed after a long labor and delivery, he actually smiled and cooed when the adjustments were made and absolutely adored Dr. Markos. I would recommend Dr. Markos to anyone -- and I usually do!

After many years, I injured my back and and had to seek help. Fortunately, Dr. Markos was the doctor I came to and she helped me tremendously. I was in so much pain I wondered if I would ever walk again. But she got me up and around in a short time. She will always be the one I turn to when I over do it. Dr. Markos has a rich background in wellness-related disciplines, including massage therapy, rehabilitation, developmental physical education, and chiropractic care. She brings all of this to her practice. I have received chiropractic care from a number of chiropractors in the area, but Dr. Markos was the first to adjust not just the "traditional" places, such as the hips, neck and ribs, but also extremity areas such as my feet and knees and wrist and elbow. These adjustments made a world of difference! As I told her, I felt like the rusty tin man who had suddenly been oiled! I felt dramatic differences after just the first visit and am improving with each visit. I highly recommend Dr. Markos and have already suggested to my husband that he leave his current chiropractor and start seeing her!

I have had one hip replacement and soon to have the other one done. After surgury I was shocked by the addition of low back pain I now experienced along with the loss of flexibility. Being a very athletic person and truly depressed about my inability to move without much pain, I went to see Dr. Marcos. I was afraid of damaging the artificial hip somehow in the adjustments. But Dr. Marcos in her patient and confident manner assured me no harm would come to my operated hip. My quality of life has improved greatly since I started seeing her. I have avoided much medication this time around waiting for the next surgury. My surgeon is amazed at my improved condition considering the degeneration of the other hip joint has continued, No, Dr. Marcos didn't miraculously make my arthritis disappear.........but she has definately allowed me to smile more and enjoy life much more than I could before her skilled care.

I first arrived by accident to the North City Chircopractic. My first impression was alright I'm scared, I've never been to a chiropactor before and I didn't know if it would hurt to realign my bones. I was in a car accident where a semi-truck knicked the car and ended up hitting the car sending us in a 540 degree spin. The practice is very safe and professional and Dr. Cheri is amazing with her work. My right leg was stiff and I would be in pain but then she started cracking and I was feeling better after the second day.. She's Real cool too, She's got a great story to tell and her personality is fun! She's lived in multiple places and is definatly a people person!!! I deffinatly recommend that you go to her practice. Dr. Markos was a real life-saver for me recently. I was working in the greater Seattle area for a six week period and went into a crisis that resulted in massive muscle spasms in my neck, upper back, jaw, etc. I was literally paralyzed, in terrible pain and frightened. It took consistent care over several visits, but she was able to help me get back on my feet, as well as make suggestions about other doctors and diciplines that might help. I ended up consulting an endocrinologist as well as a myofascial pain physician. The entire episode was consciousness-raising in the extreme. Throughout she was concerned, communicative, excellent with follow-up (I never had to chase her around for answers), and has continued to offer support from afar, once I returned to the East coast. She's a gem.

I went to see Dr Markos after years of back and neck pain. It was getting to where I could no longer ignore it. I was having extreme nerve pain down the back of my right leg. After my first visit, the nerve pain in my leg was gone and my back was no longer stiffening me up. I would recommend Dr Markos to anyone with pain.

I am new to the PNW. Cheri was a referral from a co-worker. Since I have had much Chiro work done in the past, I was nervous to go to a new Dr. To my great delight, my experience was wonderful. Cheri is amazing with amazing intuition about people. Her bedside manner is wonderful and the work done has been the best Chiro work of my life! Words cannot describe the relief I have felt now that I have found a great Doctor. North City Chiropractic - both Cheri and the staff - have been fexible with getting me appointments that work with my schedule. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I will be a customer for life.

as someone familiar with bodywork, I was wary of chiropractors...I had heard all the horror stories and more. after meeting with and being treated by Dr Markos, I now highly endorse chiropractic care and ESPECIALLY Dr Markos! Her hours are varied, the parking at her office is always good, her staff is cheerful and Dr Markos is not only a skilled practitioner but a very caring one. I would highly recommend her to everyone, whether they have a big problem or just a little ache or pain. I have been a patient of hers for about 5 years now, and I cannot imagine NOT having her on my list of people who take care of me!

I found Dr. Cheri Markos on citysearch through the reviews and I'm glad that I did. After being in a minor car accident and experiencing lower back pain a day later I decided to go see her. The time period for my recovering was set to 8 to 10 weeks i believe, and within that time period everything has gone as planned without any setbacks! In my case, i've had minimal treatment with my lower back and shoulder (1-2 times a week), yet i've been able to recover better than expected! Reliability is something i treasure with her practice!

In 1961, I saw my first chiropractor when they were considered quacks. I was a birth trauma baby and my neck was tilted back and all the doctors said nothing could be done. My mother took me to a chiropractor when I was 9 months old and my neck was corrected. With that said, I believe that all babies should be adjusted soon after birth because so many major childhood illnesses can be cured with a chiropractic adjustment. As well, it improves the immune system. She is wonderful with babies and children. In 1997, after a back injury with 3 bulging discs and pain shooting down my left leg into the siatic nerve, unable to sleep at night, I saw 3 chiropractors who did nothing for me. When I found Dr. Markos, that changed. Within weeks, I was pain free. I was shocked and happy and felt I found the best chiropractor in the Greater Seattle area. She is worth the drive no matter where you live. The other thing that impressed me with Dr. Markos is the equipment she uses compared to t... Read more

I have chronic upper back pain that is aggravated by the 'keyboard hunch' I sit in all day. I've been to more than one chiropractor in Seattle and stopped going because A) they weren't fixing the pain and B) I felt like all they wanted was to treat me until my insurance ran out. When I was recommended to Dr. Markos through a family member, I was skeptical but needy. And what a breath of fresh air! She listened to me and after a few weeks of adjustments, I was feeling GREAT. And here's the best part - this is when she said that I didn't need to come back until I felt like I needed to! All the others wanted to get me on a twice a week regime and run out my insurance. I am so glad I found Dr. Markos and would highly recommend her to anyone! It is such a releif to be pain-free.

Dr. Markos is very generous with her time and expertise. I always feel that she is really working on my issue, not just doing a "cookie cutter" adjustment. When I "sproinged" something in my lower back and had trouble standing up straight or turning over in bed, I went to her and within hours could move again. With each visit, I could feel the spasms in my muscles loosening. She is also fun to spend time with and considerate of my comfort level. Having been scared by other chiropractors in the past, it took a number of visits before I let her adjust my neck. I appreciated her patience with my reluctance as well as the non-scary skill she demonstrated once I let her do it. I am so grateful I found her!

I moved to the Seattle area 7 years ago, and after litterally getting stuck on the floor and unable to get up, I went to see Dr. Markos. I tried other chiropractors downtown Seattle to be closer to work, but now if I had to commute 4 hours to see her, I would. She is great, my back, hips, neck and piece of mind thank her daily!
