Norayne's Studio Salon

I found Norayne's salon by searching on this site. How luckey for me! It has been a few weeks since my cut, I wanted to make sure it stayed as awesome as when I left the salon. Bingo! Norayne's high energy, fun personality is a blessing. I love her dedication to her craft....you can tell she really enjoys what she does. Being new to the city, I so appreciate the others who have taken the time to leave reviews here...that is why I stopped by...to pay it forward.

I am new to Chicago and a new mom. Both have gotten me grey. I previously was a highlighted medium blonde on my mouse brown, but being a mom to a beautiful copper penny baby boy- I decided it was time for a change. I went to Norayne with a photo and she matched the color perfectly with a highlight on half virgin/grey and half highlighted head. No easy task. It looked really good. Unfortunately, I got home, sat with the color, and wasn't falling in love with it. I called her and she asked me to come in. Not only was she just as happy to see me as the first visit- she thanked me for coming in! She consulted me, listened to what I wanted and KAPOW! I am looking at a head of red hair- in a hue I wouldn't have chosen, but it looks gorgeous! I can't say enough about her skill, her professionalism, and the overall experience. I left looking and feeling great. This lovely lady knows her craft!

I moved to Chicago from the East Coast a year ago and tried a few places before I found the best salon at Norayne's. Now I would go nowhere else. With my busy schedule, she is extremely flexible and has often stayed late to fit me in. It is a relaxing and private environment but Norayne is also a ton of fun to talk to while she is treating you. I always love the cut and color!

I just went to see Norayne for the first time the week of Thanksgiving. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new salon near my house. I saw that she got great reviews on Citysearch so I called to see if I could get an appointment. I knew the week of Thanksgiving is a busy time and she was pretty much booked when I called, but she said she would stay late one night so I could see her. It was nice that she was willing to work around my schedule. The whole experience was great and very relaxing. I loved the way the studio is set up and she did do a fantastic job on my hair! It was the first time in a long time that I didn't come home and immediately go to a mirror to try to "fix " my hair. I got color and a cut and both were done PERFECTLY, she even a suggested a new color that turned out great. I have gotten a lot of compliments and I will definitely go back to see her!

Whenever I go to Norayne's Salon I feel excited because it's like I'm giving a little gift to myself. It feels peaceful, easy and like I'm treating myself to beauty. She loves her work and it shows in the results. I also like that she's easy to converse in general and about what changes I may want for my hair. She makes sure to clarify with me so that we are both on the same page. I have been going to her for years and have sent many friends and they are all very happy with the results. Men and women both have come back to me with a thank you for sending me to her. She's also very helpful to work with my schedule when I'm having a busy time in my life but need to get in. I got my haircut at Norayne's salon because a friend suggested it and it was great! She not only gave me an awesome haircut that i have been getting many compliments on, but was also great to talk too. I highly recomend her.

While I don't color my hair, I am the girl who grows her hair long only to cut it back off and start over again...and always changing up the cut along the way! Norayne always has fun new ideas for hair styles and her relaxing friendly salon is the best way to relax after a day at work. And, Norayne offers the best value in the city. I moved to Chicago last year from a smaller area of New York and was terrified of finding a new salon. The prices here are so much more expensive than I'm used to and I didn't know who to trust. Shortly after I arrived, I went to a cheap place where they completely messed up my cut. After that, I was avoiding getting my hair cut because I was terrified of someone messing it up. Then, I decided to dye my blonde hair red with temporary dye. Unfortunately, my red hair faded into a pink (Norayne, I'm sure you remember), and I could wait no longer. I searched this website and found Norayne and couldn't be happier! She sat down with me to discuss my options to get my golden blonde back, and she let me decide which way I'd prefer. I spent the last twenty minutes of my time writing a review for this, and then I accidentally clicked a bookmark. I would NOT be spending the time doing this again if it wasn't worth it. I picked Norayne's because of the great reviews she had on citysearch. I'm a native Texan with wild hair that's rather uncharacteristic of my Asian heritage: it's black (okay, got that one), coarse, and wavy. It's also extremely damaged from a couple months ago when I spontaneously bleached random portions of it blond, not to mention that I had no idea when my last haircut was before this. Even though Norayne had impeccable reviews, I was unsure that she would be able to work with my afro. The most I have ever spent on a haircut was $20. Amazing cuts, color, style and overall experience! Norayne is incredibly talented and always takes the time to listen to her clients which is evident in the beautiful results. I would recommend her highly to anyone!

The first words that come to mind when I describe the way I feel after my experience at Norayne's Studio Salon is, "absolutely beautiful!" Also I must add, energized, refreshed, stunning and radiant! These are all of the things you too will feel once you get the chance to receive Norayne's one-on-one personalized, and not to mention, all together friendly and FUN salon service, and THAT'S a promise! Let me give you a perfect example of one of many of her personalized services I speak of; I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and before I started traveling down to her salon she would bring her professional services right to my house! I found Norayne on a whim; I was new to Chicago and had no idea where to go so I happened upon her shop via Citysearch. I am so glad I did! Norayne is friendly, personable, and welcoming. She is laid-back in her approach but she makes sure she knows what you want before she goes to work and she is a master of her craft. You know when you have an idea of what you want, but you can't quite describe it or find the perfect picture, but you really want your stylist to get it just right? That's what Norayne does. She got my color PERFECT when I said, "well..... I kind of what it blonde, but not too blonde, but with a little brown.... but I still want it blonde overall.... and maybe some copper." Not only is she very good at what she does- She is passionate about it. I walk in and Norayne takes charge- she gives me a couple of choices that she thinks would work for my coloring and personality, I make my choice, and from there I sit back, relax, and let the hairapy begin. I look forward to each session. Did I mention that she has a stocked fridge with anything from bottled water to wine? ! You owe it to yourself to make an appointment.

If you are looking for a true hair artist, then you must visit Norayne?s Studio Salon. I visited her for the first time to get my hair done for a wedding I was attending. I wasn?t sure what I wanted but Lorayne was able to figure out the perfect hair do within minutes of me seating on the hair salon chair. I couldn?t be happier with my hair (I received so many compliments at the wedding) and even happier with the price (15% off as a first time visitor!!).

As a newly transplated New Yorker i had no idea where to find a stylist in Chicago. I'm so happy I found Norayne! She worked with my hair and face shape to create a look that fit me and my personality. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great new stylist.

She really is wonderful. She is sweet, funny, hip, and extremely talented. She sacrificed her time to fix the mess I had created with my hair. She did a fantastic job. I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you so much Norayne.

I am not usually one to give a write up ,but YOU have to go to Norayne's Studio Salon!!! I use to be blonde and then went dark. I enjoyed it for some time but was ready to get my blonde back. I have tried SO many Salons and haven't been happy with the outcome. My hair always looked really gold and sometimes orange and brassy. When I explained this to Norayne she explained what she was going to do and by gosh....SHE DID IT!!!!! I love my hair and my CUT just put the cherry on the sundae!! I will never go anywhere else again. You MUST see her. If you have any reservations she will explain in full detail what she is going to do and you will have total faith in her. You won't regret it. She is the best stylist I have ever met!!!!!!

I just received highlights and lowlights - love them! They look good with my complexion. My daughter received lots of highlights. She's just 16 so she wanted a more dramatic look. She loves her hair! Norayne talked to us beforehand to make sure that she did what was right for us. She did a fantastic job! I have fine hair. The cut Norayne gave me looks good - and it's easy to take care of. Norayne has a very comfortable salon. She is fun and easy to talk to. If you want personal attention and a great hair experience, Norayne's Studio Salon is definitely the place to go!!

I found Norayne's Studio Salon here on City Search. What a GREAT experience I had. Norayne works alone in a one person studio. She greeted me with a huge smile and when I left she thanked me with a hug. Norayne has a huge talent with hair. I received highlights/lowlights. I wasn't sure what I exactly wanted. We looked in color books and she gave me her expert opinion. I LOVE the color. She gave me a wonderful cut also. She takes her time and truely gives her all to making you happy. You can tell she loves what she does. Norayne listens to you and will explain things step by step. Go see Norayne.....She is GREAT!!!! Thanks Norayne. See you in 8-10 weeks!!!

Norayne's the best stylist I've had! She's very genuine, listens to what you desire, and doesn't hard sell you on products you can't use like many expensive salons. I always look forward to seeing her because not only will I feel awesome when I leave, she's a pleasure to talk to! I receive so many compliments on how wonderful my color is and it's all because of Norayne! I highly recommend visiting her...

Norayne's Studio Salon is a welcome change in the Chicago salon landscape. Norayne greets you with a warm smile and a friendly hello. Her studio is sweet and cozy, and a perfect space to get a haircut and color. You don't have to worry about "being seen" since it is just her. As for her hair talents...fabulous! She listens to what you want and offers her expert opinion. Norayne is a gem!

Norayne rules. She is an incredibly well-rounded stylist : 1) a fantastic colorist, 2) always full of ideas on how to keep your cut current and cute, 3) uses wonderful products (that she doesn't push on you) and 4) she's so personable that the time will fly while you're in her studio. I frequently feel at my very best after Norayne has worked her magic on me. Give her a try; you won't regret it.

OK, I know my salons. I've tried 'em all--from Trio, Tracocci and Tresoures to Sin Qua Non, Genacelli, Red 7, and Salon Blue. Don't get me wrong, each of those places has great talent--cutters and colorists who are dedicated to their craft. But I know every time I fork out $100-plus for my cut and color at one of those places that only a portion goes to the person who did all the work. The salon owner gets the bulk of it. That's not the case at Norayne's. This fabulous cut and colorist stays on top of styles and is so passionate about her work that she has bravely opened her own shop. Don't be fooled by the size of the place. The quarters are tight by big-business-salon standards. But the treatment is lavish--hand-delivered drinks and magazines, an incredible scalp rub and scintillating conversation. And when I write my check, I'm happy knowing it's all going to Norayne and her wonderful shop.

I moved to Chicago from Ohio 6 weeks ago and was in search for a wonderful hair stylist. I needed a more trendy look for my new home!! I wasn't sure what I wanted. Norayne was very knowledgeable and up to date on current hair styles. Norayne took time explaining what hair style would complement my features. the end result was fabulous! I left extremely happy and feeling confident with my new look. I've had nothing but positive feedback on my new look. I love my new hair and new home! ! ! Thank you Norayne.
