I would recommend this game to animal lovers or even parents whose kids keep asking for a pet as this is about as close to a real pet you can ever get. At first it was really exciting choosing your pet, training it, feeding it, taking it for walks, entering it into competitions and playing with it, but after a while you hit the ceiling as there's nothing else to do and nowhere else to go. If you don't keep up the maintenance of the dog regularly you then have to literally start the whole process all over again. I haven't played this game for months now so I'm guessing the dog must of run away.

I bought this game for my daughter who is 10. She was so frustrated with the game . I do not recommend this game for any age child. It is too frustrating. It is not fun or enjoyable for anyone. I wish I had known this before I had purchased this game for my child. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation.

I like it a lot, but sometimes it can get boring just watching your dogs. It is fun taking them on walks and teaching them new tricks everyday. This game is well thought out and easy to learn. I would tell my friends to buy this game

I bought the game for my 11 y/o son. He loves it. He loves animals, esp. dogs. After he had the game for about a month, I saw an add in a magazine that showed Carrie Underwood playing the same game. He thought that was the greatest!.

Nintendogs was the first game I got when I got my first DS (lite) along with the New Super Mario Bros. I would say this game is okay. It has good graphics and the puppies are adorable. These are just the basics of the game, you don't have to read: When you first start, the game gives you a walk-through, which is good because that way, you don't have to keep looking in the manual, and if you miss something, you can always look in the books (i mean in the game). You get to name your dog and you can teach it to come when you call their name through the mic., as well as commands. There are the standard commands (sit, lie down, roll over, etc.) and then there are other commands you can teach your dog, like hi-5. You buy food, drinks and shampoo for your dog along with brushes. (The brushes and shampoo depend on whether your puppy has short or long hair) As you progress in the game you can buy more dogs although you can only keep three with you, if you get more you have to put them ... Nintendogs Labrador Retriever is a fun game. You adopt pets ( you can have up to 8 ) and you get to decide the breed, color, and gender. You collect items when you go on walks, sometimes toys and sometimes accessories. The walks are definitely a main part of this game: they control the stuff you have, it's where you buy food and supplies for your pet, and it's where you can train for competitions. There are 3 competitions: an athletic one where your dog jumps over hurdles and goes through tunnels, an obedience one where you train your dog to obey a command, and a disc throwing one where you throw the disc and your dog gets points for catching it at different distances. You have to train your dogs very hard to be in these. But the competitions are very fun, and have different levels. The graphics in this game are amazingly realistic. The breeds look like how they would in real life. Dogs react like they would too: they melt if you rub their tummy or give them a good scratch, but the... Read more

I loved this game when I first bought it. You get to adopt a puppy and feed it, play with it, take it for walks and teach it tricks. The graphics are great and the dogs can be cute.

All you do is scoop up fieces and give your dog glasses, or a globe to chew on. Not reccomended for non-dog lovers.

The idea of Nintendogs is a good one and the game itself is kind of fun to play but one thing that I really don't like about it is that it run nonstop. It keeps going on without you even when you shut it down. If you have some time every day to take care of your dog then it's fine but if you actually have somewhat of a busy schedule then this game is definately not for you!
