We had an Olympus camera that broke, then we had a Pentax brand camera that broke and my wife decided she wanted this camera. I ordered it for her trip to Vermont she was going on and it arrived in time. She took may great pictures and they turned out amazingly well. The colors were vibrant, everything was in focus. This really is a great camera for the price. Is it for the "pro"? Probably not, but it works just well for anyone that wants to point and shoot. One of my favorite things is it takes AA batteries so you can easily get replacements if needed. Great camera!

This seemed to be a good camera with good resolution. The Image stabilization is a nice feature. I have owned 3 previous Nikon Digital Cameras. The first two were first and second generation Digital Cameras. Both had sturdy build and produced good quality images. Then we received the Nikon Coolpix L6 as a gift. This camera produced good quality images and nice features on Camera. We had this camera for about year when my daughter dropped the camera from about 2 feet and the LCD broke. At that time we purchased the Coolpix L18. This time the camera was never dropped and the lens gave us a lens error after 2 months of use we sent this into Nikon to fix this as well as get an estimate on fixing the L6. Well they came back and said that the L18 had been impacted. I explained to them that this camera was never dropped and said that it may have been in the case and impacted against the body or something. Well that is a very poor excuse for not covering a 2 month old item under wa... Read more

I owned a Nikon Coolpix L3 for a year or two, but it broke after dropping one too many times, so I figured I'd go for an updated version & purchased the L18. The exterior appearance is nicer (i.e. the color, size of screen), but nothing works as well as with my other camera. I always have to push the ON/OFF button several times before the camera turns on & I have to press the button to take pictures more than once, especially with the first picture I take after turning the camera on. Takes forever to take a picture too. As if that's not enough, I cannot get the software that came with the camera to work, so I am not able to upload ANY of the pictures I have taken since I bought it. So not only is it way too difficult to take a picture, I can't even get them onto my computer! I'm beyond frusterated with this product & I would NEVER recommend it!

I purchased this camera from Amazon a couple months ago. It is really a good point and shoot camera. MAKES good pictures for the someone who doesn't want a technical camera. I have made many pictures with it and feel it does a great job. The price was wonderful also. I compared many prices and this was way the best value. Give it a try. You will be glad you did. While you are at it you should buy your SD card for it because you will need one.

I wanted a camera that wouldn't be too hard to use and this is it. The Coolpix Camera was recommended to me by a salesman. It is one of the best recommendations I've had in a long time. The camera takes great pictures, love the anti-shake, anti-red eye, zoom, face recognition, ease of use, just to name a few. I recommend the Coolpix 100% percent.
