Oh, shoot me now. Nickelodeon. Ughhhhh. The thing I hate the MOST about Nickelodeon is that they deny that their cartoons ever existed, other than Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents. If they have a pretty decent cartoon on, but it doesn't get quite the reviews Spongebob did, then BAM! Down the drain it goes. There were some recent shows that showed some promise (Catscratch, El Tigre), but they disappeared. The worst case I think of this was with Mina and the Count, which was DEFINITELY an awesome show (Billy and Mandy got its inspiration from it! And that was a very successful cartoon for CN.) However, Nickelodeon only aired 15 episodes. 9 of these were only aired once, and since no one bothered to record them, they were pretty much lost. Which is VERY very very very very sad. ;A; Even the live action shows are going downhill. i hate this channel and disney channel,and cartoon network,i know why.all three channels have gone DOWN in quality,this is why. Nickelodeon 1.went from old school tunes to new school crap[if you saw the KCA commercials backgrounds ya now] 2.from animation to live [e.g like disney] 3.from animated stars to "real stars". 4.adults aren't interested 5.mindless cartoons 6.their greatest "treasures'' aka sponebob and fairly odd parents are now annoyind and forgetable NOW THE WORST THING DUH DUH DUH..... 7.no more slime ;(

Now, I personally think nickelodeon has gone downhill. I am only 13(and a half), but even in the time i have been watching nickelodeon(in 1998 I watched the little kid stuff and in 2000 I moved on to regular nick). I remember watching All That, The Amanda Show, Kenan and Kell, and other great shows too! And then in the early 2000's some of the stupid shows came out, but at first, they were good and now they are crap because nick didnt cancel them before they got bad. But I liked Drake and josh and Still liked spongebob, but pretty much all of the other shows I just didnt like. Then, around 2007, nickelodeon just went ultra- downhill. I remember Nickelodeon when I was a kid and I can unbiasly say that it has become garbage. Almost all the old shows I love are gone. Fairy odd parents is one of the last quality shows left on it and even it is becoming stale. All the other shows are mostly garbage shows to painful to watch. Other than all that Nickelodeon might as well be renamed Spongeboblodeon.

Ok, so I loved nickelodeon as a kid soooo much. I grew up watching all the 90's classics such as Pete and Pete, Rocko's Modern Life, Legends of the Hidden Temple, ect.  Now its Ned's Declassified, Zoey 101, H20, Drak and Josh, Avatar, Danny Phantom, ect. I am probably missing a lot of the crappy ones since there are a ton. Nickelodeon was nice when they released classic shows on DVD, but they failed to release enough seasons of the shows. Such as Pete and Pete, they bother to release two seasons then the 3rd is canclled out of the blue. Then Nickelodeon decided to shut down the original studios. I will never ever forgive Nickelodeon and its terribleness now. R.I.P Nickelodeon, we use to love you.

I really liked this channel for my 7 year old.  She likes The Fairly Odd Parents, SpongeBob (not one of MY favs), Ned's Declassified and yes, even Zoey 101.  I don't like to judge a show by what the character does outside of work.  Yes, angrymom, I agree that Jamie Lynn is not the best role model for girls, but that doesn't take away from the entertainment of the show ~ if we judge all entertainers by their outside life and their views, I wouldn't watch ANYTHING!  I don't let my child read the scandal sheets, so she doesn't even know that she is pregnant. BUT, after watching the channel yesterday (mind you, this wasn't "late night", it was 10 am), I was appalled to see a new show coming on about lesbians.  That is not something I would EVER let my 7 year old watch.  Nick, while some shows are great, is now become nothing but a trash pile of loose morals and values.

If they don't move quickly to take Zoey 101 off the air permanently, I will boycott the whole Nickleodeon network. What kind of message are they sending to our daughters when the little 16-year-old "star" (what a joke of an actress!) of the show turns out to be a slut who gets pregnant and all they can say is "We are supportive of Ms Spears during this difficult time"??? Don't even air the final Season 4 scheduled for 08. I hope they lose all corporate sponsorts and be forced into canceling the show if not from the public outcry. Enough is enough. Bring back all the good shows! Quit making stupid sitcomes that most kids don't even like! Their executives are obviously a bunch of morons not worth a penny.

Nickelodeon shows some really bad shows now.  I remember back in the 90's when they had all the good shows.  Nickelodeon is nothing like it used to be.  I would like to see a retro nick channel that would show all the stuff that I used to watch growing up.

I'd rate it higher if they hadn't started making some of the crap they put on that station NOW.

Nick is now a crap channel. As most of the reviewers here, I have to agree that over the last few years there has been a decrease in good shows and an increase in crap shows. Nick resembles Disney too much, and Disney sucks as well. Shame on Nick, shame shame shame.

It will do for the oldies and it is good to watch from time to time. I wish more of the old time stuff would be shown here.

At one time Nickelodeon use to have all the great shows like Rocko's Modern Life, The Angrey Bevers, and All That. But over the last 2 years Nick has went way down hill and started to show horrible shows like Zoey 101 and Naked Brothers Band.

I like Nickelodeon. I started watching it in 1999, when everything was Rugrats and the other old shows like Rocko's Modern Life, Doug(that show was cool),Angry Beavers. Ppl are right when they say that there are shows that imitated Lizzie McGuire (i.e. Zoey 101, Unfabulous). However, I still like to watch those shows from time to time. Like Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide which is a very unique and very humorous show. lol and Drake and Josh is okay-they make a good team. Avatar is an amazing show. There's nothing wrong with imitating anime unless it looks like crap and Avatar and shows like it, don't look like crap to me. Spongebob is so retardingly funny LOL and cute ^_^ Catscratch is boring-I've watched it-I take it or leave it. Left it. Kenan and Kel was something else lol

I agree with you, all the acting is sooo wooden too! but i love sponge bob, yea i c wot u sayin but it is so crazy it is actually funny, but not everybody understands the humour!

It was so much better in the 90's with the original nicktoons and shows like "Clarissa Explains it All" and "Keenan and Kel".

Nickelodeon, what has happened to you? In the 80's and 90's, this was THE channel to watch. My only real regret was that I was too young to fully appreciate Rocko's Modern Life, Angry Beavers, and Ren and Stimpy. I watched Legends of the Hidden Temple religiously...it was one of the most creative gameshows I've ever seen. And I liked Wild and Crazy Kids with all the wierd things they'd do. Even Rugrats, who even back then, had the basic, repetative plot of "babies do something, someone else gets the blame" was appealing in some brainless entertainment way. As I got a bit older, I started watching All That. Kind of like a Saturday Night Live for kids. Now it's trying to go the way the Disney Channel went - teenager appeal. i think nick is an alright channel but it has been getting worse over the years. i used to love this channel when i was younger cause they had good shows like rugrats all that keenen and kel and other good shows but now its just ok. right now the best show on there is drake and josh that show is funny but i think as the years go by nick is going go so bad that noone is gonna watch it.

Aside from the wonderfully creative Sponge Bob(who ever created that show should have his own station) Everything else is either unoriginal or stupid. Especially Rugrats.

I must admit Nick has really gone down hill in the past few years. I grew up with Nickelodeon in the 90's. The best years were probably between 1991-1996. They use to have great shows such as Rugrats, Garfield, Rocko's Modern Life, All That, Ren and Stimpy,The Curiosity Show, Doug and Ahh!!! Real Monsters etc.Scince I first watched Nick all of my favourites are gone!! Now we are faced with crap like My Fairly Odd Parents and Jimmy Neutron. Over here on Australian Nick they're even airing re-runs of All About Us, Fullhouse and Popular! GOD HELP US! Nickelodeon Please get back to the way you use to be! One Must view the content of Nicktoons for what it is...an ascension to buddhist allegory for our everyday stress filled lives. Look at the genius of Spider and Fly. Are we not all oppressed by other powers that would eat us alive or steal our newly baked cake. And yet we survive, and happily, just like fly. Or in the case of CatDog, are we not all constantly battling between our two inner selfs. This channel is spiritual peace and it is most welcome in these stressful times.

Was good... But they dumped some of their best shows. Invader Zim was the best thing Nick had, and then all of a sudden they dumped it! Sure, those jerks from the FCC said it was too violent, but happy viewers of Zim ended up with a Fairly Oddparents episode about aliens taking out people's brains. What a load of hypocrites. I can't believe how much junk they are adding now... All Grown Up? My Life As A Teenage Robot? Give me a break! And Rugrats is no better, those babies are not the least bit cute or funny.

Nickelodeon was Great until they took ren and stimpy,rocko's modern life,angry beavers,and invader zim off. And added crappy shows like spongebob and fairly oddparents.This channel has definatly gone down the drains.

So-So really, for good it has Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, and Jimmy Nuetron, but with the addition of shows such as Invader Zim, Catdog, and all those retadrded Klasky Csupo Shows (which are all crud with the exception of Wild Thornberry's) throw it off. However, the specials like U-Pick live earn this show an extra credit. Yes, I miss the old Nick, but it's still good. Much better than Disney.

It amazes me how much critical appeal that Nicktoons get when brilliant cartoons like Pokemon, Tokyo Pig, Dave the Barbarian, and Duck Dodgers are either ignored or shunned. Aside from The Amanda Show, Nick has nothing interesting at all. Spongebob is awful, Rugrats is boring, Fairly OddParents is shocking in its mediocrity...etc. Nick Jr. is great stuff for tots, but doesn't appeal to me personally. Why did you take off the repeats of Garfield, Charlie Brown, Pinky & The Brain, and Animaniacs? WHY!?!?!

back in the late 80's / early 90's nick was THE only channel i watched. they had quality animated series running back then, belle & sebastian, the mysterious cities of gold, the little prince, the noozles, the adventures of the little koala, heathcliff (& the cadillac cats) ect ect. but then in 1994 something changed and all those shows i loved where gone, replaced by totally vapid, useless crap like ren & stimpy, rugrats and a bunch of other sh*tty shows, even the nonanimated mainstays like sharon lois & braham's elephant show, pinwheel and todays special where all taken off the air to make way for a new kids lineup of what eventually would be spongebob, doug, rockos modern life and a bunch of other garbage shows. i havent watched nick in 7 years and until they bring back the good shows of old, i have no plans to tune in anytime soon.

i love nickelodeon and im even ok with Legends, GUTS, and Wild n Crazy Kids not being on anymore because Noggin shows them still.. but will some1 please tell me what ever happened to Are You Afraid Of The Dark? ??? i absolutely ADORED that show! and my friends and i have been wondering why it just suddenly STOPPED being aired! i am completely clueless to how we could get it back on tv, but if anyone knows how, GO FOR IT! there are more people missing that show than you'd think! -RUaFrAIDlUvR-

Luckily, it jumped the shark after I outgrew it. It's still sad, though, that it is so horrible today. Shows like Nick Arcade, GUTS, Doug, and Legends of the Hidden Temple have faded into oblivion, never to be enjoyed by today's poor youths. Instead they see Spongebob and a countless stream of CatDog, Spider and Fly dreck. They've even aged the Rugrats, the last bastion of the Nick I once knew! Nick's downward spiral began when Figure It Out and Hey Arnold debuted; soon, Wild Thornberrys and other trash were forthcoming, until finally we are left with the Nick of today. Granted, it has not fallen as far as Cartoon Network, but I can't help but feel bad for kids today that are relegated to watching the Amanda Show and its wretched brethren.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I can survive watching a TV without Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, and the other programs on Nickelodeon channel. LONG LIVE NICK!

A solid kids network. I used to watch Nickelodeon all the time as a kid. Of course I don't watch it any more, but it still provides solid programming for kids.

I Like salute your shorts, Are you afraid of the dark, The old rugrats, Rockos modern life, nick arcade, and double dare and Pete and Pete! Their were a few bad shows but it wasn't as relevant as it is now. I think starting like in 1997 , nick started to go downhill at a rapid velocity, like a small snowball on a mountain that gains more and more mass. I don't know why nickelodeon started to go downhill but all I know is, but it happen at the same time that they started to created all those teen drama's like Dawson Creek, Melrose place and Buffy the Vampire. They were popular among preteens. Nick probably was afraid that they were going to lose its main audience and started to make its own teen shows! That backfired and Nick lost a lot kids. Nick, you should of stuck with your original idea!
