Nexxus is not worth its money. Their moisturizing product left my hair the same condition as when I used one of those cheap ones you can buy at Safeway (like TreSemme and Suave). The smell is great though, lol.

I am very, very disappointed in the Nexxus moisturizing conditioner. It left my hair greasy, lifeless and limp. I, too, bought it at Walmart and paid almost $30.00 for it. It is not the same product that it used to be. I can't believe all the bad reviews I have read on different sites about it. I had to use a ton of it to cover my hair; with the old formula I could use a small amount. I am so upset that they made it into such a cheap product, but with a high price tag.

It appears that the key is to know what type of hair you have, and use the correct Nexxus products for it. All of their products do not work well for me, but the ones that do are absolutely wonderful. It's just about all I use and keeps my hair hydrated (Humectress Ultimate Conditioner) and clean. I'm so glad they make this stuff.

The old nexxus went retail, changed the formula to crap, but they DO make A SALON QUALITY LINE which is great! its called Phyto organics, & lots of the products are suppose to kinda replace the older ones, similar names syntress, hydraide, kelate is like aloe rid i think? but yah, check out the phyto organics line, not the retail line

Ug, I'm on board with a lot of the other reviewers. I faithfully purchased Humectress for YEARS - paying $20 or more in salons every time. I LOVED it - I loved that it was thick, coated my hair, left it shiny and tangle-free and reduced breakage over time. I loved that it even reduced static in winter! In short - that stuff was AH-MAZING. When it first entered the drug stores and Wal-Mart, I was excited because it was the same thing, only cheaper! Yay! But then they had to change their formula, I'm sure to cut costs. The new stuff is awful. I purchased one bottle of it and will never do it again. The new formula rinses away immediately and completely, leaving your hair feeling bare and dry. It doesn't even prevent tangles. Awful. It's nowhere near as good as other drug store brands like Pantene or Aussie. All around FAIL. If they returned to the original formula, I would definitely start buying it again - for salon prices, even! But this? Why would I waste even $5 on... Read more

After using Joyco K-Pak for years, i thought i'd try a new brand for a change. A week using Nexxus, i've noticed that my hair got dry, frizzy and dull. I insisted for another week, and i notice my hair breaking and looking extremelly damaged. I contacted customer service, under the "Guaranteed Satisfaction", obviously, no one got back to me. I will never buy it again, and do not reccomend to anybody. In fact, after a conversation with my hairdresser, she told me she had the same complaints from other customers. Btw, my i have long colored curly hair.

I am also a long time user of Nexxus Hair products. I have used the sampoo, conditioners and other products for over 20 years. The product change is a complete consumer rip off. The product is still around $20.00 over the counter and should be around the $3.00 Sauve price or any of the other cheap brands. I have now switched brands after being a loyal customer for many years.

I have used Therappe and Humectress for 5 years. It has been the only time in my 50 years I have been able to let my rather thin hair grow to the middle of my back. From time to time on the recommendation of a friend, I would try a different brand, and I always found I had a breakage problem, so I would run right back to good old Nexxus. My hair was always healthy, in fact, it looked like "commercial" hair! Long, shiny, very very few broken hairs, nothing sticking out. Until now. The last time I purchased these 2 products, I have found that my hair is greasier and that I have a tremendous amount of breakage. My hair looks like my cat has attacked it! The hair on top of my head is only 2 or 3 inches long! So I tried different shampoos, but so far I can't find anything to compare with the "old" formula. I am afraid I will have to cut my hair, and I promised myself just once in my lifetime I would have long hair. This new formula has ruined my hair. Sad? Yes. Angry? ... Read more

I am very interested, and not surprised, to read in many of the reviews, that Nexxus has recently changed its formula since going "over the counter". I am so disappointed. I have used Nexxus for many years (more than 10), and it used to be the only shampoo that moisturized my long, curly, dry hair. I have loyaly used it for years, not minding paying the extra price, as another poster said. When it went for sale in Walmart and other grocery stores, I was shocked but thrilled. I wouls no longer have to visit a salon to get my shampoo and conditioner! I figured it must be exactly the same stuff since it cost the same as it always had. Wrong! My hair has gotten drier and frizzier steadily the last couple of years. I thought it must be due to age or some medication I was taking or something! Then the thought occurred to me that maybe Nexxus had changed their formula. So, I came to this forum, and sure enough, it's looks like they have. I am furious and appalled that they are sti... Nexxus works great for my whole family's hair (we all have straight, brown hair).  Leaves it clean, soft, easy to comb through week after week.  Recently decided to try pantene and we all had dry itchy scalps in a week.  Now, back to Nexxus and our noggins are great!

I have used Nexxus since I was 13 and I am now 33. I do switch out to other shampoo/conditioner after a week or two for a few days but I always went back to Nexxus. I hate it now that it went to the general public and left the salons. I used Therappe and Keraphix and was always more than happy with it. Now, I just can't stand it. I have to use a lot more of the conditioner than I had to before. My hair lenght/style hasn't changed much. I do have medium length, course, combination curly/wavy hair and it just hasn't been the same since. I also used Maxximum hairspray. After a moment of desperation and running out of the other hairspray I use now (Kenra) I bought Maxximum at the grocery store. Used it once and now it is just sitting there collecting dust. It smells like alcohol and it is very, very sticky. The original formula smelled much better. This almost reminds me of Rave hairspray or something. Sorry, I just can't recommend Nexxus any longer. When I found out it was ... Read more

i adored the old formula and didn't mind paying the higher price. the new formula is OK but not worth the current price. if you're going to buy your hair care products in the super market stick with biolage or pantene.

I just bought Nexxus for the first time, since it is now out in the grocery and drug stores. I love this stuff! I have dry hair, and the Nexxus softened, it made it manageable, and I have had comments on how shiny it looked. The stuff isn't cheap, I think I paid $18 for the conditioner and 12 for the shampoo. But believe me, you get what you pay for. And if it's true that the formula has changed since being released into grocery stores, it either hasn't changed much or was miracle product before because, it is excellent, i will never go back to other products.

I am a stylist and have always enjoyed Nexxus Products. I knew Jheri Redding and learned much from him. I have since found out that Nexxus has been sold to Alberto Culver and in February, 2006, Nexxus will be sold in grocery stores, supermarkets and drug stores. The formulas will be changed to be able to market the product cheaper. I am very dissappointed about this and I feel that Mr. Redding is turning over in his grave as he promised that Nexxus would NEVER go that route. He promised that Nexxus would stay a family business and remain professional. Apparently his son didn't feel that he should honor his dad's wish.

Love Nexxus, esp. Therape shampoo and humectress conditioner. Especially good for long or curly hair that knots easily. The humectress can be a leave in, and helps de knot.

i am a hair stylist, and i love nexxus products. they offer something for every type of hair. i guarantee if you don't like it, your using the wrong product for your hair type- it is not the product itself. i work in a salon with about 30 different lines... this is by far my favorite for shampoos & conditioners!

I use Nexxus Artistic Designing Lotion, which is just a light-weight gel. It's the absolute best thing I've found for my frizzy curly hair. I try to never run out of the stuff. One bad thing, the bottle isn't sealed really well, and when I took in on vacation some spilled out even with the lid very tight. You'd think for the price you pay they would put it in a more secure bottle.

I like the non-perfume, refreshing, light smell. It leaves my hair feeling clean with no heavy build up of ingredients.

I love the "Diametrics" for fine hair that Nexxus produces. It's in the white/red bottle and has thickened my hair throughout the year. I also like "Humextrus". Most all Nexxus products are quite expensive, however.

Nexxus smells great, and I have heard over and over how it is one of the best hair care products. However, it always leaves a build up on my hair. I think the Humectress is great for those with very thick or long hair, but it can be too much for normal hair and way too heavy for oily hair. If I use Nexxus shampoo for a long period of time, I need to switch shampoos because of the build up. My hair loses it bounce and shine. Nexxus is best used in spurts.

Because Nexxus products are very stimulating to my coarse hair, it helps it to grow and makes my hair easy to comb. I just love their hair products.
