Mon Nov 07 2011Newegg is obviously and by far the best place on the internet for computer parts, video games, and perhaps full desktops and laptops. Newegg is better than Tiger and Amazon. The problem is when you buy online you're subject to the risks and the hassel that comes with shipping. I've spent enough at newegg.com to where I could buy a new car. That's a lot. In that time I've become very experienced and I know all the pitfalls that come with buying electronics online. You can read the review below and take it as a lesson. You probably have a 1/15 chance of getting a DOA electronics product when you order online. If you need something by a certain deadline then you're just going to have to go to the store and buy it. If it's dead you can at least take it back and get an exchange. With newegg you have to wait a couple weeks to get a return. Obviously, they do indeed need to fix this policy. Newegg offers free or reduced shipping on many products. Sadly, this is through UPS. UPS is very car... Read more

Mon Oct 17 2011My experience with Newegg was the worst of my life. I spent $1,500 on a computer and I received a defective product. They were unwilling to offer any satisfactory options for replacement as the copy of my chat session shows. Wed Aug 17 2011I've had only great experiences with NewEgg. I have an external hard drive fetish and have purchased a few from them, usually when they're on promotion with free shipping. The orders always arrived timely and well-packaged. One time I even received the product before I received the shipping confirmation (how did that happen?). There was only one time that I received a monitor slightly cracked on the frame and contacted the online support right away. The support personnel offered me the option to either get another $30 off my purchase or issue me the form for return, in which I chose the $30 refund because the crack really doesn't affect the functionality of the monitor. I got the $30 issued back to me and an email confirming the transaction in less than a day. The only complaint I have with this site is that they really have very limited selections, so it's not likely finding the exact model you want there if you already have one in mind. I can probably get the same item for approxima... Read more

Tue Jan 18 2011I am pretty sure they are a bunch of thieves. They have no security on their orders! I would not trust giving them my credit card number, the lack of personal service makes me think its two people selling a bunch of stolen shit, and they know when they are caught!

Tue Dec 07 2010I have been shopping with Newegg for a long time. I guess it dates me because I remember when they closed their bricks and mortar stores (anyone remember Egghead Software?) and went online. Their prices can be very good and are always competitive but you have to play the business the way they want you to play. Everything is online and business is done using their website with chat and email tools available but no orders by phone. In fact they would rather you don't call. It's too expensive and inefficient I suspect. Lately though, especially in the Christmas season they have sent flurries of emails with various ads for cool things - but they expire pretty fast. In fact you can save things in your cart, go to ask a question about the product - by chat or email, and find that the price and product you wanted has expired with your price no longer available. Hey I understand why their doing this. They want a certain urgency. Buy now before it goes away. I just think it's become a monster t... Read more

Fri Sep 03 2010Don't pay Newegg for expedited processing or overnight shipping. Expedited processing can take an extra day and overnight shipping may take 6 calendar days. Even when they've told you an item has shipped, it might not have for another day or so.

Thu Jul 29 2010pathetic company. Bought an underwater digital camera for a recent trip. Used it most of the trip for general pictures. Near the end of our vacation we used in while snorkeling and within 5 minutes of getting wet the viewfinder/screen went black, and the SD card loaded in the camera will not down load any pictures. All our vacation pics are lost and NewEgg will not refund the item, even though it was totally defective.

Wed Feb 03 2010NewEgg.com has cheap prices, cheap shipping and lots of options. I have never had a problem buying anything from here, and you always get interesting and informative reviews on the products. If you want some kind of technology item, you should always make this one of your stops to check for availability, prices and reviews.

Wed Feb 03 2010My husband has been buying all kinds of electronics, computer parts and gadgets from NewEgg for at least a couple years. He's been really happy with everything he's purchased, raves about the great prices, how fast they ship and on it goes ad infinauseum... ...Until he bought me a second camera for Christmas - a point and shoot I'd been wanting for some time. I have a high end rig that I use professionally but I wanted something I could stick in my pocket for family gatherings and so forth, without having to lug all my gear every time we go anywhere. NewEgg shipped the camera quickly and he was happy. He did a lot of research beforehand and all indicators said this was the best option in a pocket sized point and shoot. It was a nice surprise for me. But once the lens didn't open properly - it got stuck as it began to telescope from the opening. After turning it on and off a couple times, the issue resolved and didn't happen again. In the process of dealing with this, I noticed som... Read more

Mon Aug 17 2009So far so good. They have the best prices and nearly anything you could want in electronics. Fast shipping. Great!

Thu May 07 2009Newegg does two things well: 1) They have a large selection of everything electronic under the sun, and they have good prices for said products. 2) They have remarkably good customer service. I had a bad experience with Hewlett Packard HP giving me the wrong information about a replacement part on my HP laptop, and I got the wrong memory from Newegg. Even thought the part said "no returns", they accepted the return without a question and refunded my money. Hotness, I can't ask for more besides some hot grease and a spatula.

Tue Apr 14 2009First, the newegg address verification function deleted my suite number. Then UPS did not call to get the suite number, and no one from newegg did either. So the order is being sent back to newegg. Support cannot fix the order and told me to just order it again. But now it is out of stock and I cannot even place an order for it to hold until they get some in stock. On top of all this they want me to monitor the shipping return and email them when they get the monitor so they can refund my money, they will not do it automatically. This has been a horrible experience. I hate new egg.

Mon Apr 06 2009Factory seal had been broken and resealed, a "MAC" label had been removed from the factory container and the box was not even properly reclosed. The item was returned unopened. I have no idea when I will ever receive a "new" laptop, as ordered. I've been told 1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks, and that it would ship today - which did not happen. They have my money and my computer, and I have an expiring service contract. This is my first experience with newegg and I now agree with a friend who also had a bad experience and will not buy from them again.

Fri Mar 13 2009Reading previous posts, you either love or hate this outfit. I think they're great. I've ordered an assortment of computer parts from them for myself, my family, and my employer over the past 10 years and never had a problem. Their prices are not always the lowest (but often are), but their hassle-free service and prompt shipping more than make up for any price difference. IMO they set the pace for how an etailer should operate.

Mon Nov 17 2008newegg.com has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!! THEY NEVER LET YOU SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR ,THEY NEVER SAY SORRY COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISREGARD FOR OTHERS TIME AND MONEY. AND REFUSES TO GIVE ME REFUND!!! AND YET I DONT HAVE WHAT I ORDERED 4 1/2 WEEKS AGO.

Tue Sep 23 20081 star is 3 stars too many!! Half the stuff I've gotten from NewEgg appeared to have been previously opened (ie NOT in NEW condition), and I have been through RMA hell between the defective video card, and the fact they keep replacing defective RAM with more defective RAM (three times now!!) I bought some Patriot 1333 DDR3 ram at Fry's for the first machine I built, runs fine... order some more from NewEgg for a 2nd machine (same hardware configuration as first) and when I try to run at 1333, BOOM BSOD! When I take the ram from the first machine and put it in the 2nd machine at 1333, runs fine... when I take the NewEgg ram and put it into the 1st machine at 1333, BSOD! Also NewEGG ram shows up different in CPUZ... I have RMA'd twice, they keep replacing it with more defective ram!! And when I tried to write a negative review, surprise surprise they censored it, twice! Bottom line NewEgg should be avoided like the plague!!

Thu Aug 14 2008newegg.com has very UNHELPFUL customer support. I ordered Kingston DDR2 memory kit KHX8500D2K2/2GN on newegg.com, but my order was canceled without ANY explanation and the item was not available anymore. I spent more then an hour and half on phone with the customer support, but they could not resolve the problem. Each time they explained differently what was happened and NEVER proposed any solution (e.g. used ip address out of US (they probably thought that Seattle is not part of US); your shipping address is fake (I already used this address to buy the items from newegg.com) and etc.) The customer support NEVER calls back or sent e-mail as they promised.

Thu Jul 10 2008Well, I for one really DO dislike Newegg. They used to be really good about five years ago. Now they are Bad. Customer Service is very poor, shipping charges are way high compared to the other stores, and their product mix has gone down in quality. They are like living off a reputation.

Thu Jul 10 2008Charged my credit card but no product for two weeks from now. Call customer service, said it was shipped on the first day already. Then when I ask for a tracking number, they said no. But where is my package now? They don't know. Can I cancel my order? No it was shipped out. Two week from now, no package, no tracking number, and no respond. Only have a credit card bill asking me to pay for newegg. Have to dispute with credit card.

Sun Jun 22 2008One of the wors customer service expericances I have EVER had. I used them on glowing recomendations from a friend. I ordered components to build a pc, ordered and paid for second day shippping. Items started arriving 4 days later in one shipment, 3 days later some more arrived, 5 days later some more arrived, I never did recieve some of the items orderd (small amount under 7.00 item out of frustration I let it go). It took me nearly a month and NUMORUS calls to customer service to get all of the items for a PC build that I ordered via 2nd day air. The worst part about it being - I called them prior to placing the order and asked "these items x x x, will there be any issue with getting any of them by Wednesday. The rep told me there would be no problem, all items were in stock and ready to ship. The customer service people I spoke with troughout the ordeal balmed everything from warehouse being closed for inventory to backorders to manufactor supply issues to get this...one said UPS wa... Fri Feb 01 2008I spent over a quarter of a million dollars with this company in 2007. As of today, jan 29th 2008, they have completely lost my business. I was notified that they completely demolished the B2B dept and cancelled all terms accounts. This is the single most stupid thing they could have done. I will not buy from them in the future because I MUST have a B2B rep that is familiar with me, my account, and my business. I have now found another vendor that is offering cheaper prices and better warranties. I sort of wish they would have done this long ago......

Sun Jan 20 2008Great selection, great options to narrow your search. Prices are great. They have too many parts though, hard to find EXACTLY what you want, however thats not neccasarily a bad thing...from what i've read in reviews they have good customer service, even though i havent had the chance to experience it my self, as they have not shipped me a defective or otherwise bad part. perfect.

Tue Oct 02 2007Worst customer service ever. I bought 5 PC's and were suppose to have Windows XP Pro. Instead shipped with Vista. I told them I need 5 pc's ... they send an RMA and left me hanging. Only received 3 of 5 anyway. Not sure where 4th and 5th PC were. They say they have EGGcellant service I think it is nEGGligent service.

Mon Aug 27 2007haha i actually love them, great service fast delivery, and they even sent me some free stuff. free bluetooth and free 1gb kingston micro sd card. it was a mistake on their part but a neat little goody for me :3

Sun Aug 05 2007I have used Newegg for many years without any problems. Good quality, cheap and fast. Just purchased over $2000 in computer parts and they were all delivered within 3 days. As for kamylienne's comment; Sounds like the problem may be on your end in the form of a keylogger. Many anti-virus programs don't detect keyloggers. You would be surprised at how many I find in my customers computers. Taz

Sun Apr 29 2007Seems like a good company, but beware of fraud. May be coincidental, but my husband recently purchased a hard drive from them. It works great, delivered promptly, but today when I went to make a payment on the card online it said that there was a problem with fraud and I was unable to access the account. My husband called and they said that someone from California had called the company with his credit card number to get more information, saying that my husband was "in jail" (in California) and for some reason they needed his information. Okay, so they lifted the block, and I got online. I found a transaction listed as "Diamondcardorder", $206.00. My husband is positive he has not made any such transaction. Sounds like a pretty typical case of fraud, except he rarely uses the card, and newegg.com is the ONLY online company that he has provided his information to. And they also happened to be based in California. Might be a case of coincidence, or might be a case of newegg.com ... Read more

Mon Apr 10 2006Never had any issues with these folks. Very prompt. Deliver what they promise. Prices excellent. No experience with CS or returns because products all have been fine. I just wish they carried a broader range of products, like digital cameras and other items where there seems to be a paucity of reputable internet sellers.

Fri Feb 24 2006Best Prices, Fastest shipping, Outstanding customer service. I'm in the IT field and I buy 90% of my product from newegg.com

Fri Sep 09 2005I have used NewEgg on several occasions. Each time the products ordered have been delivered rapidly, and were exactly as advertised. Of greater importance to me, on one occasion I ordered a product which did not perform to its manufacturers claims (see Rating for BenQ FP67 LCD Monitor); and although the manufacturer's technical support team failed miserably to satisfy the terms of the product's warranty, NewEgg's Customer Service went out of their way to 'go to bat' on my behalf with the product's manufacturer.

Fri Jan 28 2005I have had great experiences using newegg. I can't comment on the CS or return policy because I've never needed it. I've always received exactly what I ordered, on-time and in perfect condition.

Fri Nov 12 2004Worst ever... Their return policy and CS is below online par. I would avoid Newegg, especially for the holidays because you will be dissapointed.
