The town of Newberry sucks. It is a backward hillbilly redneck town. They would have to pay me a go there or live there. I was once there on business and could not wait to get back the real world.

Newberry was and still is a phenomenal place to be! I graduated in '99 and have never regretted a day of being a student at Newberry. From the day I walked on campus to visit I felt at home. I have since attended other institutions for graduate school but never felt "at home" like I did at Newberry. I see where people complain of the old buildings and facilities...the fact that Newberry was old and had history was one of the reasons I was drawn to Newberry in the first place. I never had to do without or feel like I wasn't getting a good education because the building I lived in was old and had a "story". I will always LOVE Newberry and am proud to have been there!

Newberry is a wonderful place to go to school. Granted that some of the facilities arein need of attention, that does not diminish the quality of people that are here and education that one gets. Newberry is a place where everyone can feel like they are a part of something, from athletics to organizations there is something for everyone. I don't know of a better environment to learn in than one where the professors know their students and want to help them succeed, and that's just what you get at Newberry.

Newberry College is a wonderful place to be. I graduated in 2005 and have been back many times. I met my best friends there and learned many life skills, as well as social. You are going to find something to complain about at every college there is you just have to be mature enough to do something about it instead of just complaining. The administration and faculty at Newberry College have one goal, furthering and bettering the College in any way they can. Going there was one of the three best decisions I ever made in my life. Hail the Scarlet and the Gray!

I graduated in 1985. It was a wonderful school with professors that actually cared whether you made it or not.

Newberry was not a great place for blacks unless you were into sports. There wasn't anything for us to do except join Metoka Galada. So we were forced to fit into a place where we really didn't UNLESS you played sports1

For the most part, I had a great time at Newberry. I made a lot of lasting friendships and gained many new learning experiences other than the standard education.

This is a good institution and being in the South Carolina Up-country adds to it.

Hated the professors. Granted, I graduated a long time ago, but I vowed that I would not return to campus after graduation. I have been back maybe 2-3 times in 20 years for a football game. The only good thing that came out of my Newberry experience was that I met my husband there.

I am an alumni and employee of Newberry College, therefore, I am biased on the subject. My experience was a great one and continues to be to this day. Newberry is not for everyone, but can well prepare anyone for a bright future. It all depends on the attitude of the student. It is a small environment that offers a more personalized education. We are a small school with lofty ambitions for growth and success, and make no mistake about it- we WILL achieve those goals!

Newberry College is a great school. The professors are extremely knowledgeable in their fields and the school has several organizations, both social and professional, for students to join. The on-campus dormitories have been upgraded since I attended Newberry and I think the school is looking great. I came to Newberry from out of the country and I am not the only person to have done so. I would definitely recommend Newberry to any freshman or transfer student. When you step on the campus of Newberry College you feel like you are a part of a family. That is the way I felt the day I went to the school when I was deciding on the college I wanted to go to and that is the way I have felt throughout and since my attending at Newberry (1996-2000).

Newberry is a wonderful college, and I am proud to be an alumna. I have an excellent education that well-prepared me for graduate school and a wonderful career, but more than that, I have life-long friends and memories to fill a book! God bless Newberry College!

Newberry College was est. in 1856, in the historic town of Newberry, SC. Although Newberry is a small town, it's convenient to Columbia & Spartanburg. If you want to be a person and not a number, Newberry College is YOUR SCHOOL! The student-body is a close-knit community. Professors are ALWAYS available. NC gives you EXCELLENT ACADEMICS, & GOOD SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGES. There's ALWAYS something to do ... clubs, greek life, athletics, internships, studies abroad, etc. Most important, NC encourages you to do your BEST ... to EXCELL ... they challenge your mind ... and make you think. NC wants you to come up with ideas, and implement them. They want college to be fun, and educational. That makes a really unique experience! A lot of people read the College Review for rankings ... well, NC has a GOOD ranking. But rankings aren't comprised by students who are actually experiencing a college. Personally, I left one of the top liberal arts colleges in the U.S. for Newberry College! It may not be t... Read more

I graduated from NC in 1980 and played baseball for four years. Had a great time while there, and was the starting shortstop on the only NC team to ever go to the college baseball world series. Also, the education I received has helped me in the real world. I hope to go back someday and re-establish some old friendships.

Newberry College is by far the worst place to attend. The negative opinions posted on here are completely accuarate. The student life is horrible and the administration as well as the idiotic President is a joke. This school is more concerned with athletics (in which all of our athletics are horrible) than an education. Unfortunately I am still stuck here because nothing transfers out of this school. It is a complete and utter waste of time to be here. Advice to all freshman and incoming students...TRANSFER WHILE YOU CAN..this is a terrible suitcase college that I will, unfortunately, be paying for, for the rest of my life..

Newberry College is a great school! Some of these negative remarks amuse me. When these people actually get out in the real world, compare various colleges, etc. they will realize what a wonderful place NC is. No college is perfect, but Newberry is close! We are proud to be followers of the tribe!

This school is horrible! The student life is virtually non-existent, upper-level administration is more concerned with the success of certain athletic programs, and the educational facilities need serious repair. I attended NC for a few years and found that I was paying a premium price with no reward. While some students (especially Lutherans) are given additional financial aid, the average student's aid decreased from year to year. I found that by the time I completed two years at NC, my financial aid had dwindled and I was forced to cover the additional cost.

Even though I am attending Newberry College, I wish I could change schools instead I am forced to stay here because of my parents. Personally, the school shows favortism to to a particular group of people which is the football team. Why is it the school and the community could pay for thier uniforms but not pay for those education students who are taking the Praxis for the first time and also repeating it untill they are done. I also feel, there should be a course for Praxis math, reading and writing because as you know there are other colleges and universities that pay for students Praxis and also have courses for math, reading, and writing. I feel since the tuition is a estimation of $24,000 the school could at lest do something. Also the school could at least fix up the classrooms because it looks like a mess. I'm tired of seeing the same-old tired ass rooms because it seems it was refurnished in the 1900's. It is time for a change and another thing is the tuition are becoming too e... Read more

Newberry is a great college. I graduated a number of years ago, but the things that made Newberry special when I was the student are the same things that make it special today...small classes, a place where you are a name, not a number, an outstanding liberal arts curriculum. It is in a great location and the campus is small but beautiful in a charming southern town. What more can anyone want?
