Just got back from staying at NY NY the room i stayed in was sooo far away nothing fancy just a room the only thing i seen was the windows are very dirty and the curtains also very dirty. The casino is small no poker room did not like that and there is a bar in the middle of the casino not sure of the name or if it has one but beware the bartenders are VERY VERY Rude i would not go there they act like they are to good to talk to you no thank you for the very expensive drinks you will pay 8.00 for a beer.Forget getting free drinks if you play video poker because you need to spend alot in order to get a drink.I was there playing video poker for about 1/2 hour spent 30$ and they told me this was not enough to get a free drink.I would go check out the paino bar had so much fun there.I would not stay at ny ny again i spent most of my time at MGM if or when i go back i would stay there.

I reserved a room online and when we checked in and went to our room, we found cigarette butts in the ashtray and the bed messed up like someone had been sitting on it. I had ordered a non smoking room as I am allergic to smoke. I also ordered a king size bed and got 2 queen size. We go back to check in and tell them about it and the guy working was not going to give us a new room!!!! He was very rude and said we would not get a king size bed. We asked to speak to a manager. The guy came back and said we could change rooms. We got what I reserved online. On check out, we told the guy working and he made a note of it. Don't know if that would do any good or not. Beds were comfortable in the room and I have a hard time with beds. The casino was ok. It was good walking distance to anything else we wanted to see.

My girlfriend wanted to stay at NYNY, so I booked. The price was pretty decent for the strip (100/nt). The rooms were ok, neat, clean but my GF kept complaining about the beds being uncomfortable. There are a lot of cheap food choices here, but my fav was 9 Fine Irishmen. Irish pub with decent food, good beers, and excellent service. The waitresses' uniforms did not hurt either. Ben & Jerry's was convenient and great as always. Il Fornaio and America were decent, but better food could be had by walking to MGM or Monte Carlo. The only breakfast buffet was at Chin Chin, with an Asian twist. NYNY was all over location. It's centered in the south strip, across the street from MGM and next door to Monte Carlo. Excalibur is across the street, but I only used it to pass through to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Next time I will definitely skip the spa services at NYNY. Their spa is small and overpriced for the amenities. Also, the guy on the men's side was kind of rude.

This property is very crowded, just like NYC. Also, if you are traveling with a group, be aware that the various towers are not easily accessible to each other. If you are visiting room to room, you will spend a lot of time on various elevators, etc. The pool is small and crowded. On the weekend, you'll be lucky to get a lounge chair and even luckier if you aren't bumping elbows with the person next to you. Wait staff service at the pool is lousy -- be prepared to get up and get it yourself. The piano bar is fun. If you want to be close to MGM and Mandalay Bay, this property is a good choice. If you want to spend time up the Strip at Bellagio, Caesar's, Wynn, Fashion Show, etc., wear walking shoes or plan to take taxis - it's a haul. The rooms are small and nothing spectacular. If you're staying here for price, try Mirage or Paris instead. Better location, better property, similar price.

I reallly enjoyed that ESPN Zone they have there. I'm a big sports guy and if your looking for a place to crash and don't like to walk much this is the place. Right around the middle of the strip. Vegas is all about exploring so don't spend to much time at your hotel!

I stayed at this hotel from Wednesday through Saturday in March. I thought the rooms were nice, and clean, and worth the price, considering everything is a little more pricy staying on the strip. And who really stays in their rooms anyway when you're in Las Vegas? The downside of the rooms is that they have connecting doors to the room next door, which wasn't soundproofed at all. I could hear my neighbors' conversations as clearly as if they were in the same room with me. Location is excellent--you can head either north or south down the strip and there's plenty to see. The casino itself was a nice size, although they don't have a poker room. Also, you have to pay extra to use the exercise room which is part of the spa. There is a wide variety of restaurants for a wide range of budgets. Be sure to join their Players Club if you're gambling at all. You can use your membership to collect points at all casinos owned by MGM/Mirage, which includes New York New York, Bellagio, MGM ... Read more

Overall, I find the Vegas scene cheesy. That being said, NY NY fits the bill. We stayed in a normal room, which is nothing fancy. If you have the means, upgrade to a nicer room. My biggest disappointment with NY NY is that they charge for EVERYTHING. Want to work out? Be prepared to shell out $20. Want to print your boarding pass at the concierge desk? $3. They like to get you wherever they can. If you just want a place to crash, this is a suitable resort. It's on the strip, good location. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, I would suggest the Palms, Hard Rock, or Bellaggio before I would stay at the NY NY again.

New York, New York big HOTEL and Dreams, But everything in New York, is exactly how they seem. This is the spot. Ive been to Vegas like 4 times and never stayed in a hotel on the strip. Ive always stayed with friends that moved out there. Not till staying here till I seen what I was missing. This is the spot. Great crowd, food, roller coaster on top. Rooms is tight. I stayed on the 17th floor, its the bomb. And for all those "Quote on Quote" visitors, they have padded headboards in the room! Gotta Love it.

Of course you would get a more elaborate room at the Venetian or the Bellagio, but you would pay atleast triple the price. For me, I don't stay in the room enough while in Vegas to justify paying that much so NYNY was great. The casino is smaller than some of the others, which I thought was the perfect size. You can split up from your party and still manage to find them and the decor is really nice and gives a cool sense of the real NYC. The food court is nice and has several places you can stop in for a good fast meal. The staff is very helpful. The outside of the hotel is one of my favorites on the strip. Zumanity is one of the best shows that Cirque du Soliel have to date, although if you have seen any of their other shows it is a departure from their norm. Great location also!

If you are going to Vegas, you have to stop in here. The attention to detail in the city streets inside is incredible, the rollercoaster is fantastic, the casino is what you expect on the Strip. Have a great time.

I've always had a good time here. Zumanity is an awesome adult show that got me and boyfriend hot, very hot, actually...I digress. There are plenty of little places to eat at with little or no waiting. The man hole covers in the ground actually have steam come out of them and it has a fun vibe about it. I like all the little touches that make this place feel like New York.

I love the atmosphere at New York. The entire set-up is entertaining and fun to experience. One of the nicest things is the large variety of small places to eat in this hotel. Much easier to grab something quick and filling than a lot of the other hotels on the Strip. Slot machines seem a bit tighter than some of the other casinos but the atmosphere is outstanding!!!

The NY NY is a great value and the nightlife is really good, you wont get the luxury of the Bellagio, Venetian or Wynn but its a really great place to stay. The pool is really small compared to other hotels in the strip and the casino is really fun with a live band over the weekends.

In Short An imaginative re-creation of New York City, complete with brownstones and ethnic neighborhoods. Among famous Big Apple icons is an airy 84,000-square-foot Central Park-themed casino. Outdoors, you'll find the Manhattan skyline, a replica of the Statue of Liberty and a Coney Island-style roller coaster. At the base of the Statue of Liberty replica, a memorial displaying thousands of personal articles is a permanent tribute to the heroes lost in the tragic events of 9/11.

The writers of some of these reviews fail to take price into consideration. If you can afford the Venetian, stay there; this hotel is for those who can't! Point is... this is a great hotel for the price. It's fun, with a well done theme and it's a great location, especially for the younger, nightowl crowd! The rooms aren't big but they're decent and comfortable and this hotel offers one of the most affordable rooms with a jacuzzi. The casino is great and there are lots of fun restaurants and bars in the hotel or in easy walking distance. If you want something nicer, you WILL have to pay more... it's your decision. If you choose this one for the price, you've made a good decision and you can rest assured that anything nicer would've meant you going to Vegas with less "playing around" money. I will stay here again!

Ten of us went here for our friend's bachelorette party and had a great time. The rooms were pretty average, and we did have some trouble with hot water, or should I say warm water. We tried the pool on Saturday and there were not nearly enough chairs so we had to sit on the ground...not fun hungover from Friday night. However, we thought the Apple Bar was great with a great band, Times Square Bar was good to watch the horns game, and Coyote Ugly was fun for us girls. Also, Studio 54 was a very short walk across the street at MGM Grand where we also enjoyed a great buffet...never feeling like we left our hotel. It was also a great atmosphere for us 20 somethings, not feeling stuffy like some of the upper scale hotels.

Yeah, so it has a roller coaster, big deal! In the sparkling city of Las Vegas, properties must be unique, luxurious and amazing to stand out. Look at the competition! NY, NY is none of these. As we arrived, they informed us they had overbooked the hotel and made us (my entire group of rooms) stay at another casino the first night (how I love to unpack and repack) This shuttling around caused us to miss a show for which we had fantastic seats. Our rooms were very small. The whole property lacks character. Many of the restaurants were chains and overall NY, NY was pretty boring. The pros: the casino experience was better the cocktail waitresses were polite and speedy. The slot situation was good if youre into that. My advice when in Vegas, get your moneys worth - there are plenty of places to do so.

The definition of "average" is this hotel. Nice room, nothing to write home about. Nice casino, average game variety. Entertainment choices are just o.k. More shopping would be nice. Can't say I hated it, can't say I loved it! Get a room as high up as possible so you don't have long elevator waits, upper floors have separate elevators.

This place was impressive on the outside, but once your inside it gets worst. It seems like the only thing they did was put some fake maple trees to make it somewhat like NY. I was not impressed and thought it was too expensive. I had the same opinion about the rollercoaster ride. Impressive looking, but doesn't live up to your expectation. The ride was too jerky and my head was hurting afterwards from getting banged around so much. Stay away from their supposive "family ride".

It's much more impressive from the outside. I stayed here a couple of years ago, and must admit that I wasn't too impressed. The rooms weren't that great, but the price had made me think they would be. Would I stay here again? No. I'd much rather book at Harrahs or the Venitian. The casino is so-so. Worth a visit but not a stay.
