I am glad to see them at least competitive again after the hurricane disaster.

They should be good now that they have Drew Brees (crap, now we're stuck with Rivers) and college droput Reggie Bush. I would like to see these guys in the playoffs.

I agree. But let's be real. You're a good team New Orleans, but no one is going to give you the game, despite the tragedy. Knock it off, we all feel bad for you but this is the NFL. I don't see anyone MIA. This is about the football now. Knock it off, we all have our seasons to play.

Maybe there IS something to all that N'Awlins voodoo down there.....the Saints seem to be buttcheeks deep in it. To their credit, they manage to end up mathematically poised for the playoffs (the dog turd in the punch bowl, as I like to call it) each year, but like vice cops in the French Quarter, something always comes along to derail the dream. Aaron Brooks needs to clamp those happy feet and throw (he gets in more trouble on the rollout than anyone else in pro football). Great running game, but Haslett won't cut it loose in the second half. NO secondary defense, which kills them to no end, and now they're having trouble stopping the run. They'll finish 9-7 in 2006, and the Packers will nose them out of the final spot. The most talented bunch of underachievers in the NFL (and woefully proud of it).

The Saints don't suck, but how long will it take them to prove they aren't the 'Aints anymore? Poor Deuce McAllister is on his way to a 1,500-plus yard year in absolute obscurity on this badly underachieving 4-5 team. This team has talent on both sides of the ball, they cannot account for more than average stats. Brooks needs to put up or shut up, and at the very least try to lead the Saints to a semi-respectable 9-7 this year. I think it's time to let Haslett, the coach, go. The Saints need a disciplinarian at the helm that will take this team and bring them to the play-offs. They have no business being where they are now. They are better than that, but until they do I cannot give them more than 3 stars.

Maybe the Super Dome really is haunted. It was built on an old cemetary, you know. The Saints either a) start off the season, then make a huge run at the end of the season or b) start off the season looking like a Super Bowl contender, then fade off into the west. They have to do something right to have beaten Tampa Bay, but they will never do it consistently unless Haslet starts making examples of a few players. They have one of the best backs in the NFC and a young, rising star at quarterback. But will that be enough?

They don't have the discipline to make it to the Super Bowl. They are still 2-3 players away from making a good playoff run. I do like Aaron Brooks as a qb. He should be around for a while.

They will always be the team that will miss it by so much. They'll start off strong (like this season) but start to lose the edge after Week 8.

The New Orleans Saints are destined for the playoffs with the arrival of Ricky Williams. They will no longer be known as the "aint's."

DITKA SHOULD RETIRE. HIS DRAFT OF THIS YEAR WAS A MISTAKE THAT SHALL LIVE IN THE MINDS OF ALL FOOTBALL FANS FOR YEARS TO COME. NO ONE SHORT OF GOD HIMSELF (HERSELF?) IS WORTH THAT MANY DRAFT CHOICES.

It seems as if the NO Saints may do well this season. Stronger Offense. Hopefully Rieley will stay healthier in the future.
