Nectarines are the grossest fruit I've ever tasted! The first time I tasted one I literally threw up.

Don't really like the texture, the flavor isn't all that special.

A cross between a peach and a plum - my favorite summer fruit.

Far superior to the peach. I can't wait for them to come into season.

Very tasty fruit. You must catch it in its prime though. Not ripe-too tangy. Too ripe-mushy and sweet.

Nectarines are perfect. They are delicious, juicy, sexy, and not fuzzy. How anyone can eat a fuzzy peel is beyond me. Hello- you can get something just as fantastic but smoother in a nectarine!

A peach substitute for people who can't peel peaches. Sometimes they are better than peaches.

I believe that under the right circumstances, I might commit serious bodily harm to acquire a nectarine.

Nothing beats a quality, properly ripened nectarine. It should be the king of fruit. The problem is ripening them properly. I check them twice a day. Typically it goes: green, green, green, rotten. They do have a ripe period of course, but the window of opportunity seems to be only about 2 hrs wide. Tough target but when you hit it you really ring the bell.

    Too annoyingly sweet.

I've had un-ripe nectarines that were still good. Harder on the outside than peaches, but often more flavorful and crisp than them. Love it.
