Might be okay for motors...but does it protect you from harmful UVA-UVB rays!!???...and other rays!!??... Go with Coppertone oil!!

I always have and always will use Motorcraft oil. It will never leave a bunch of junk if it is changed regularly just as any oil should be. You will notice that it will stay cleaner the more you use it. If you are switching from another oil the first few changes will be more dirty because it is getting all of the stuff your other oil is leaving behind but it will get better after a couple of changes.

Found Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend at Walmart for just 15% more than regular oil. The lighter weight oil is recommended for my more modern Fords and I like the synthetic blend as you can go up to 7500 miles between changes. The lighter weight takes less energy to pump around the engine so the mileage is slightly better than with the heavier oils. Isn't that slick! I have been a Pennzoil fan for years but am trying the Motorcraft oil now and so far am very happy with it and the price. First synthetic blend I've used. I generally replace oil and filter at 6 months or 6,000 miles unless I am towing. My 2000 Ford 4.6L engine has 118K miles and no issues. My 2006 4.6L engine has 29K miles and uses the lighter weight oil and so far so good. Most of these miles are not on Motorcraft oil so time will tell but like it so far. Also can get Motorcraft filters as same store for low price. Nice. I recycle all my old oil at auto part stores for free. They sell it but good for them. ... Read more

Motorcraft is Kendall it is red bottles the Kendall is in the black bottles.Simple as that.Firestone has oil change specials using this oil. Bulk oil who knows, the your Ford stealer uses the red bottles instead of the bulk, your lucky and can go for it. Motorcraft can be used in any make car, just as Kendall can.

I have ran Motorcraft oil in all my vehicles from ford Diesels to Massey Fergusson Tractors. I have talked to diagnostic labs and have sent oil samples to them. I sent them some extremely dirty looking oil from a 302 V-8 and they said the oil was still O.K. According to the company the faster the oil darkens the better of a job it is doing of encapsilating foreign particles that damage your engine. I love Motorcraft Everything!!!

700,000 miles on a 2001 Ford Excursion with a 7.3 diesel engine Motorcraft 15w40 oil changed every 7,500 miles. No engine failures at all. 1 Altenator and 1 Transmission.

Ironically, I had a 1973 Ford Mustang and it absolutely hated Motorcraft oil; the difference with feel and performance was remarkably better when I changed over to Pennzoil.

I have been using Motorcraft Oil in many vehicals throughout the family both Ford and non-Ford. If you research you will find that Motorcraft oils have a good lab rating, and from personal use I have found that engine were is minimal if at all evident. Heck I even use this stuff in my lawn mower now. It is a slightly more expensive than most standard oils, but it is cheaper than full synthetic. I pay around $2.76 for a quart. Conoco-Phillips is a respectable company with many acheivments that have been brought to the motor oil industry, If I recall there oil was and may still be used in Formula racing. If your oil is getting dark quickly, then the oil is doing its job of encapsulating harmful deposits thus protecting your engine. Just because your oil is dark by your expected oil change interval does not mean it is not protecting your engine. Get an oil analysis before you jump to conclusions and rate ANY oil poorly.

Ford does not make motor oil. Conoco-Phillips, Inc manufactures the oil for Ford.

My wife had regular oil changes done to her 1995 Explorer at a local Ford dealership. They used 5W-20. After 230,000 miles, we replaced the timing chain and my son is now driving it. Never had any problems with the engine as a result of oil failure. The key is changing the oil regularly. I gave the oil a 4 star rating as I don't get that excited about motor oil. :)

I have had this oil once in my car and it was terible. After about 2800 miles the oil was so dirty it was hard to believe, this is just a cheap oil that Ford dealerships across the country use because it is cheap.

This was more important back in the 1950s and 60s when there was more reconstituted and lesser quality oils on the market. Today many oils are made by the same manufacturer and in the same plants, they're simply put in bottles with different labels. If you don't have a loyalty to any particular brand then all you need to know is that the oil you choose meets the API rating for your engine, although some turbo cars require an oil specifically formulated for vehicles equipped with turbochargers. Regardless of what make or model car you drive, if there is any doubt about quality or proper fit, you can never go wrong using the manufacturer's oil and filters.

Oil is oil in my opinion.....I have no reason to ever buy Motorcraft however, Ford makes this stuff and I am not into anything made by Ford, they could probably even mess oil up if givin the chance..... I am kinda just joking, I'm sure it is as good as any, as long as you change your oil every 3000 miles your doing ok.
