Sun Mar 21 2010Motel 6 - Phoenix East 5315 E. Van Buren was the worst one, that I've ever stayed at. My SMOKING room had no ashtray and there was only ONE towel in the room. When I called the office, I was told that housekeeping had left for the day and I would have to go down there to get my towels. I don't expect many amenities from a budget motel but, one should be able to depend on having enough towels for the two people who booked the room. I went down and got the towels but, I shouldn't have had to.

Thu Jun 25 2009Yes, you get what you pay for. This is great if you are just looking for a spot to get a few hours of sleep and you are good at not thinking about where you are sleeping! It's on the cheap end of hotels considering the sheets, pillows, beds, shampoos, etc. BUT, I've never had a problem here. Customer service is usually friendly and you are in and out.

Mon Jun 22 2009Motel 6 is afforadable and you get what you pay for! This motel chain is no frills- bed, pillows, bathroom, tv! If you expect anything more than you shouldn't be looking at any place that has motel in the name! I like the fact that Motel 6 is animal friendly, which to me matters. I also notice that some are much nicer than others depending on location and management. Just do a little research before you book and you will be ok!

Mon Jun 22 2009There are a few nice Motel 6's, but most of them, by this point, are a bit rundown from the years. Amenities are sparse, breakfast is not usually an option. They may leave the light on, but is it where you want to stay?

Sun Aug 24 2008Swear to god, this place gave me the fright of my life in Tampa a couple of years back. As I'm getting into bed, I remove the top layer of sheets. To my surprise (Well, not really, it's a Motel 6) I found suspiciously curly hairs sprawled over the bed. I cringed, and had to take up and argument with half the staff in the desk, half of whom didn't speak English. In all, they agreed to not charge me for the night, and gave me new sheets, though I slept in a chair, just in case. Cheers..

Thu Apr 03 2008You get what you pay for! As long as it's clean and bug-free, how can you complain?

Mon Apr 02 2007I'd sooner sleep in my car.

Sun Feb 25 2007Avoid it like the plague. A nasty dingy dump, that had a broken toilet and does not wash their sheets. Just filthy and probably crawling with Hepatitis. Don't bring a blacklight either. It is traumatic, but better than sleeping on the street.

Wed Jul 12 2006Our family stayed at Motel 6 in Little Rock, Ar the weekend of July 4th, when we arrived the sheets were filthy and the tub had dirt all in it. Before my husband returned from the desk with clean sheets, my 6 year old brought me a crack pipe from just under the edge of the bed. We were horrified!! We know are worried that there is a chance he could have contracted something, the hand he brought it to me in had a cut! The security guard tried to pursuade me into NOT calling the police stating there was nothing they could do, and they would tell me that when they arrived. This was no big deal to him! When the police arrived, it was a big deal, we got a report filed, and were told to check with our pediatrician about infections or chance of our son contracting something. The hotel did return our money, but would not pay or even help us find another hotel (we reserved this room in advance, and being a holiday weekend there was nothing available), after driving for several hours tring ... Tue Apr 12 2005Not as bad as you may think even though it should be Motel 60 now - it really depends on which location you stay at. We stayed at one in San Antonio that compared with a Sheraton and another in Florida which smelled like a strip club and had drug dealing going on.

Mon Jan 24 2005Yeah this one is pretty bad, cheap as hell, they just don't give a crap.

Tue Nov 30 2004They leave the light on for you because the switch is broken.

Tue Nov 30 2004Taking bad hotels to a new level. Thats what Motel 6 does. Why anyone would stay here is beyond me. Especially when you can get a Days inn or Sleep inn type for almost the same price. The only time I stayed here was in college when I had no other option. The sheets had stains and holes on them. The bathrooms were dirty and dingy. And the entire room reaked like smoke and rotting food. The walls were so thin I could easily here the people next door. I payed 34.00 for this room ... next time I just assume sleep in my car or pay an extra 10.00 or so for a decent room.

Tue Nov 30 2004Avoid chains like this, the equally abysmal Red Roof Inn, and other so-called Economy motels. You really do get what you pay for and you don't get much. The last time I stayed at one of these places, the room smelled of cat urine, odd stains were embedded in the linens, towels were of toilet paper consistency, and there was no coffee maker in the room. It would be hard to get a decent night of sleep on account of the excessive cretin-generated noise emanating through thin walls, as well as the strange itches and bites I'd feel all over my body from my crustecean bedmates (Hey! Why sleep alone). These hotels are okay for truckers, drifters, or young dudes who want to get liquored up and stupid, but not for anyone else.

Tue Nov 23 2004Stay here if you want to catch a bad case of scabies or crabs!

Wed Nov 17 2004Overpriced and Dumpy. I stayed at a Motel 6 in Roseville, Minnesota and it was nasty. The room was kind of clean, but dried vomit was in the area outside of the motel room. For 40 dollars a night, especially in the midwest you can do better than a motel 6.

Fri Jun 25 2004We'll leave the light on for ya. Of course, they charge extra for that too. Hardly worth the cost.

Thu Mar 04 2004They never leave the light on for me...

Thu Mar 04 2004Very overpriced for what you get. Normally their motel rooms are not very clean, and I can almost always smell mildew when I first walk into one of their rooms. I have probably stayed at this motel chain 15 times in my life, and only 4 or 5 times was the visit barely ok. I only stay at Motel 6 if nothing else is available, so I can't say I would never go there again, but I do try to avoid the place.

Thu Mar 04 2004When I was a poor student it was a great cheap place with spartan accomodations. Now it is just an uncomfortable, smelly, low-class place for about the same price as a lot of other slighly less smelly places. It's probably fifteen years since I've been in one.

Wed May 07 2003It's a bargain if you don't mind sheets with a few burn holes and the sound of police sirens all night.....gotta make sure the deadbolt on the door is locked too.....

Tue Apr 30 2002I've stayed in a few when I was young and traveling with my parents. From what I remember, my brother and I found a used condom under the bed. I think even the bed bugs were afraid of this place.

Mon Oct 23 2000This is the "we'll leave the light on for ya'" place, right? I think the rooms would be more appealing if they turn the light off. If all you want is a bed, I guess Motel 6 would work. However, a blanket and a park bench would probably be just as comfortable and probably cleaner than a Motel 6.

Wed Aug 09 2000Motel 6's are great for road trips. It is a cheap hotel with a bed and a shower. I would never stay there more than one night. They are convenient, because you can find one by just about every exit off the interstate. My only critique is the shower heads in the shower. Those things will spray off your skin if you aren't careful.

Wed Jul 26 2000Cheap is the name of the game here. Inside you feel like you could pick up just about anything and crumple it up into a little ball and toss it into the trash. But they know their market and they perfect for a quick stop and night of rest while traveling.
