    I enjoy volunteering there and working with the children. The children are smart and loving it is a pleasure working with them. The teachers are hard working and they are into the children and they well being.

    I must say I am very glad that I was a part of this school even though I was there for a short time, it was a learning experience and fun along the way. I enjoyed working with the staff which are very professional and very focused on teaching thier students; also very nurturing. I also enjoyed the fact that the teachers help eachother. I must ... See Morealso add, although last year most of the teachers were 1st year teachers, these teachers were determined to inspire thier scholars though creative learning. And let me not forget to mention my favorite 2nd grade teacher Professor Victor Velez. He is always willing, able, very focused and really loves the childrend. He always went the extra mile for his students, and that is very rare now a days. Its teachers like him that students will succeed because they enjoy learning. P.S I can not disregard commenting on the principal, Professor Lisette Caesar. She has work so hard with little that was available to her and still made things work.... Read more

    Mosaic is the City's first college prep public school and between last year and this year, it is clear that the scholars at the school are thinking college already. There are partnerships with New York Cares, Marymount Manhattan College, Police Athletic League, and the Leadership Program to name only a few. Aside from offering academic programs after school and on weekends, the school also has a basketball team, step dance group, yoga classes, track and more. Events throughout the year include family workshops, Family Math Night, Career Day, Science Fairs, monthly visits from authors and monthly field trips in and out of the City. The staff is really dedicated to helping create a positive, "bucket-filling" community for scholars. The Dual Language program at Mosaic fosters learning in both English and Spanish.     Mosaic Preparatory Academy is a public college prep school in the heart of East Harlem. This isn't any ordinary NYC public school. The staff and students are warm and inviting. The school is a true community that foster the love of learning in all students. The school focuses on providing every school with a liberal arts education by highly qualified teachers. The diverse curriculum differentiates for all learners. Students are exposed to the importance of college from day one. Each classroom adopts a particular college. College students volunteer as tutors weekly to help students succeed and learn more about the college experience. Students visit various New York colleges regularly. In addition to an abundance of academic resources, Mosaic has array of extracurricular activities including Step, Karate, Drama, Track & Field, and much, much more.
