Sat Aug 01 2009An angry little man.
by ilikepie
Mon Jan 19 2009I don't think he's ever heard of the phrase "Let's agree to disagree", do you? Far too aggressive and venomous to be considered a truly class reviewer.
by cyclee
Fri Jan 16 2009I certainly think he's got a gift in writing, but as far as whether he's a good reviewer or not should probably base on how credible his takes on issues, and that's up to the general public to decide. Unfortunately, can we rely on the average public to decide whether someone's opinions are valid? Very doubtful sometimes. I do have a problem with his reviews though. If he seems to hate everything he reviews then it's either he only reviews the items he hates with passion, or he just generally hates the existence of everything. In either case it's not helping me out on what to pick for my next vacation.

Fri Jan 16 2009I had promised myself that I would never post anything negative about another reviewer here, no matter my feelings or opinions. I break that promise now because this individual abides here only to spew hatred and see how offensive he can be to others. He adds absolutely nothing to the RIA experience. He detracts quite a bit.

Mon Nov 17 2008Obviously has a bug up his ass, but after the past 30 years or so, who wouldn't?

Thu Oct 30 2008A typical neo lib communist, the likes of which all advanced societies have and tolerate. Much noise, much agenda, much distortion, nothing to worry about. Update: is his avatar is a self depicting aspiration of what he would like to become?
by convinced1972
Wed Oct 22 2008Probably a card carrying member of the Communist Party.

Wed Oct 22 2008Today I received a PM from Moose, responding to some topic or other we were discussing on one of the lists, in which he wrote:Furthermore, Palin is a sadistic piece of shit who knowingly and deliberately brought a mentally and physically challenged child into the world, condemning it to a life of agony and second-class existence because of her mutant religious beliefs and warped politically ideology. In her case, abortion was a totally justifiable option, but she deigned not to so that she could make a specious and mentally retarded statement of her sick values.I think that satisfied any sort of curiousity I had regarding his point of view about any topic.

Mon Aug 18 2008We need more people like Moosekarloff in this world. His view on this country is basically dead on. Especially his pizza theory. lol!

Fri Aug 17 2007MooseKarloff (wonderfully monstrous name) has pissed so many folks off that he must be doing something right. Bolder and braver than the rest of us, he seems not to care what you think, and if you really get riled up by his remarks, then you're just the person he's trying to skewer. He is guilty of some snobberies ("your typical American has only the vaguest notion as to what constitutes good food," he writes) but if you're not occasionally guilty of being a snob, well, you probably have bad taste. Most of the time his zingers are spot-on: on Michael Chertoff, he writes: "They constantly mispell this guy's last name. Let's set the matter straight. It should be spelled, 'J-E-R-K-O-F-F.'" No matter what you think of his politics (I don't share all of his views), you have to think that is funny.

Thu Feb 16 2006The best writer on RIA (as others have mentioned). Lives in Manhattan, middle-aged and has a house in North Carolina. Otherwise a mystery, mostly. Stereotypes certain groups (c.f. Sundiszno's looong paragraph), and displays remarkable arrogance and insolence (or confidence and contempt, depending on your point of view and the comment in question). In any case, more fun to read then any other writer on RIA; especially interesting music and literary criticism, subjects where ad hominem attacks are more limited than politics and of greater general interest than old TV shows or New York Restaurants.

Fri Jul 08 2005As is the case with most of us, our content is not always agreeable; however, I appreciate his mechanics.

Tue Feb 08 2005The greatest writer on this website. Very knowledgable and I tend to agree with a majority of his views. Give him credit. He's done a superb job.

Mon Feb 07 2005Though aside from the cool name(go moose!!!) His comments are very disagreeable and his personality is sometimes very rude. Lighten up a little Moosekarloff.

Wed Jun 23 2004I am upgrading my rating of Moose to a 3, because he deserves credit for his intelligence and ability to express himself. I still don't care for his comments about the South, and I could really do without his references to flatulence and other bodily functions. However, at least he is thoughtful and backs up his statements, unlike other posters who arbitrarily make outrageous and absurd statements. I'm sorry for the insults I hurled at you, Moose; e.g. that you live in a dungeon with your pet rat, Ben and abuse yourself with a cat-o-nine tails.

Thu Jun 17 2004This individual is acknowledged by many raters to be the best writer among RIA reviewers, and I share that assessment with minor reservations. He has a very well developed vocabulary and often comes up with interesting, arcane, and sometimes archaic words. May of his posts fall into the realm of essays or, in some cases, mini-epics. He is a talented writer, at least stylistically and mechanically. Based on some hints in some of his posts, I'd guess that he's in his late 30's or early 40's (not a kid, as some have opined), and has a close association with academia (maybe an English professor or teacher). He confines his comments to several broad topic areas, i.e., politics and political figures, literature and authors, entertainment and actors, education/universities, and beer. At least on the face of it, his knowledge in these areas is impressive. If I were to rate him on only those elements, I'd easily give him a 5. However, there is a broader spectrum of elements that I feel ... Read more

Thu Feb 05 2004I can't really add to what everyone else has said about him/her/it. I get the feeling that moose is just another one of multiple ID's used by the same person.

Fri Dec 19 2003An extremely cynical, negative reviwer that seems to hate Americans!
by jontheman
Thu Dec 04 2003Heh, good ol' Moose. Now for starters I'd like to say Moose is a brilliant writer, expresses himself superbly and is quite frequently funny. After reading his posts on Donald Rumsfield and other cold warriors which was better written then most professional writers, I was all kitted out to give him five stars. However I did then note he thought that the English were a pinheaded people. A common theme throughout his posts seems to be he HATES everything I hate but HATES everything I like as well. Top reviewer and all I just think he'd prefer to sit on the political fence and throw sharp objects at the people in both yards then be positive about anything besides music.

Tue Nov 11 2003I agree with some of his ideas, but I think his comments about Middle America were way out of line. Most Mid-Americans, I've noticed, are decent, non-pretentious average joes who just want to live and earn their keep. That's true for most people in all areas of the country. I too am a liberal, though decidedly more moderate, and, for instance, EVERY decent working person, including the people of the Deep South, deserves certain basic things such as health insurance, worker's comp, and some allotment of paid vacation. I will be the first to admit that Middle America has some definite social problems, and I often disagree with their opinions, but I still will award them with their deserved human respect. And I say this as the proud grandson of a Midwestern sodbuster's daughter.

Mon Nov 10 2003Besides being unreasonably cynical on virtually every single topic, I think it's widely accepted now that this guy was an obvious fraud.

Sat Nov 01 2003Oh, I hate doing this now! I really do. Don't get me wrong. Moose is very intelligent but lately, some of the things he's saying are getting a little too....well....offensive. (Referring to Whitney Houston's post.) I like Moose. He's a smart guy and he's not afraid to be outspoken. But to use such nasty degrading slurs like the ones used recently are no excuse.

Mon Oct 13 2003To rate and review real music (not Britney or N'Sync) you need to know at least something about music, saw this guys review about Yes and the guy is clueless. Better stay rating stupid sitcoms.

Mon Oct 13 2003Anybody need a good laugh? Check out this cheater's response to my comments about his Little Caesar's post- it took something as inconsiquential as Little Caesar's to push you over the edge. Maybe the truth hurts, maybe living out in the vaunted Heartland isn't all it's cracked up to be. Maybe you are experiencing severe cultural and class envy towards those of us who live in a civilized corner of the universe where you can get a good education and paying job, have a neverending choice of decent restaurants and other entertainment and cultural options. You Heartlanders like to come off as so decent, Christian, moral, upright ect. when the truth of the matter is you're a cadre of small minded, parochial, provincial, mean-spirited and resentful hicks opertaing under grave feelings of inadequacy and inferiority. If y'all had anything on the ball you'd be living on the coasts or in the belly of Chicagoland like the rest of those accomplished types who've been pulling the lion's share ... Read more

Sun Oct 12 2003Another backasswards soul convinced that if the United States simply turned a blind eye to the problems of the Middle East then they will either go away or someone else will take care of it. Who, France? HA! Furthermore, Moosekarloff gives me the overwhelming impression that he writes his comments with an Oxford dictionary at his side in hopes that he may find just the right word for maximum I'm So Much More Literate Than You Peasants value. Let there be no doubt that Moosekarloff is very skilled at expressing himself. Unfortunately, said expression is limited to I'm a pompous, socialist ASS!

Thu Sep 25 2003I can see he writes well. He is awful negative when he rates. I do not know if he is in on it, but he sure has gone up the ratings list awful fast. Number one. HMMMMMMM. Does not seem fair. I do not mind if someone goes up the list fair and square, but it sure seems odd when they accumulate over 1000 votes in a few days.
by president_x_d
Tue Sep 23 2003Some comments are pretty funny. But here's another liberal who thinks that common sense opinions and politics are outdated and outmoded. Too bad Moose can't see that what he's preaching is Communism. Yes, Communist butchery and the abolition of all individual rights is something to strive for. Not on my watch. UPDATE: Well, suddenly Moose has decided to become a cheater and vote himself into FIRST place on the top 100 reviewer list. What a jerk.
by kolby1973
Sat Sep 20 2003Update ! As of late, I really can't see anything that great about Moose or his reviews....he is really negative, and I just hate it when people are like that ALL the time. Some negativity is normal, but come on !
by rebelyell1861
Fri Sep 19 2003Well he's obviously a multiple-identity using fraud. And on top of that I don't agree with anything he says on here. He's really one back asswards kinda fellow.

Fri Sep 05 2003Numerous television reviews and 754 comments in 6 months, does he have a life? Often tasteless remarks veiled in snobbery. Obnoxious nicknames filled with sexual references and scatological humor, his obsession seems pretty obvious. Has Mouse come out of the closet? His comments on John Leguizamo, Very broad and vulgar comic who appeals to those of low taste... seem to be an accurate self-assessment as well.

Fri Jul 25 2003He seems like a very unhappy person. I hope he finds Christ some day.
