Tue Jan 27 2009I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this product! I have never tried waxing at home but hate going to salons and paying a fortune and feeling ever so exposed. I'm half black & half white and have coarse hair so I thought it wouldn't work for me but it did. I also have ridiculously sensitive skin but didn't get a rash or weird bumps. The redness went away after less than 2 hours and my skin feels very soft. I'm not going to lie to you. It hurt. But only a little, kind of like a sharp sting, and the pain went away after a few seconds. I love how it took all the hair off with little need for touch-ups - as a first timer I suck massively. I'm sure I'll get better at doing it myself and will be able to be a bit more adventurous with the areas I wax. I think those who didn't have such a super experience might have to use less of the product. They say to use a thin layer and it's true, the areas that I put a bit more on didn't work. It was all pain and no gain. So you might want to try again but with les... Read more

Sun Aug 24 2008For years, I have dealt with a bit of unwanted facial hair, and have in the past most often used bleach or a chemical depilatory, like Nair. I stopped using Nair about 12 years ago when it burned my skin (the skin peeled) and left a scar that I have to this day and has only gotten deeper as I've aged. With the bleach, I always have felt like I was sniffing toxic chemicals when applied to my upper lip. Never having waxed (I'm too cheap for a salon), I heard about "sugaring" and Moom, and decided, for the price, to give it a try. I can't believe how well it works. First, it doesn't hurt. I was terrified it would pull my skin off and even planned my first use of it to preceed a 10-day camping trip. But no problems at all - no redness, no hurt skin, no nothing - except a smooth upper lip for the first time in a long time. In terms of use, I do not have a microwave so I had to heat it on the stove in a pot of hot water which was not a problem at all. It was easy to appl... Read more

Sun Aug 24 2008This did not remove hair well at all for me. I'm so disapointed! I even purchased an electric warmer to go with it, thinking I was really going to love this method. I had been using an epilator on my legs and underarms so it's not like my hair was stiff, and it is certainly not thick. I waited until the hair was long before I started using Moom but would have to apply and remove over the same area two to three times and still not remove every hair. What a shame. Toni

Sat Aug 09 2008there's a reason people go to salons to get waxed... there's a bit of a learning curve involved. my first waxing experience in a salon was horrible - i wound up "crooked" and had to go back the next day to have it fixed after my skin had calmed down - so much for running home and surprising my boyfriend of the time. i was terribly self-conscious of my crooked vag-hawk. folks, i am of middle eastern/mediterranean descent - i am a fairly hairy girl, and the hair i'm most interested in removing resides in the bikini area. needless to say it is abundant and COARSE. i also have, sometimes, two hairs growing from one pore there. anyway... maybe TMI, but i did my first Moom last night - i might be a sick person but i actually enjoyed it so much i wound up giving myself a Brazilian - i was just amazed at how well it worked. Moom works like wax but what a joy, you can wash it right off with water and all the tools are reusable. i woke up silky smooth - no bumps, no whiteheads, an... Read more

Tue Jul 08 2008I am a professional hairdresser. I know how much nicer waxing is than shaving...but wax is so messy. Especially if you aren't at a salon and don't have all the same tools at home. I also have a microwave wax kit and it is no where near as awesome as this! Yes, waxing gets the job done but a microwave kit means reheating over and over, uneven application, and messy sticky countertops and legs. With MOOM I have none of that! The temperature of MOOM stays consistent for much longer than microwave wax, and glides on very thinly. I did both of my legs and there is still so much product in the jar I can probably do them 20 more times! Amazing. It really gets all the little hairs just like waxing. Except when I was done I wiped off the counters and my legs and was good to go. No residue!!! I washed the strips and laid them flat to dry. I think MOOM hurts less than waxing because the consistency is finer, goes on more evenly, and gives you a better "pull." There aren't any leftove... Read more

Sat Apr 05 2008Great product. Simple to use. Wax strips can lose their stickiness or the wax can stick to your face so much that it can cause wrinkles. Sugar works very well and, with just a little water, the sugar's removed. No problems.
