My dog Milo played for the Expos during the 2003 season.  Even though he was a utility infielder, he was still one of their best players. You're the best bro.

Washington can win at times. The problem is, not with any consistency. These guys have talent, but they aren't quite ready to win big games yet. Maybe in another 2-4 seasons.

They no longer exist as Montreal Expos. I feel very bad for any Montreal Expos season ticket holder. I guess they'll root for the Blue Jays now.

I feel sorry for the city of Montreal. In the season of 1994, they were in first place with alot of talent... then the STRIKE came. Every since then they have been nothing, and the attendance shows it! Now they are moving to Washington. SIGH They could have at least moved elsewhere... Baltimore is TOO close to Washington for baseball. Sorry Montreal, keep your head up high. Maybe some time in the near future you will get another MLB team.

Montreal deserves alot better!!! Jeffery Loria screwed the team and left them under MLB ownership! The fact that they're leaving is because of ( No ownership,Bad stadium, the strike ).Trust me. If the Expos had good ownership and a good stadium, the fans would come. Montreal deserves baseball.

I am not from Montreal, but it is a baseball town, they outdrew the Yankees for several years even. The problems only started in 1994, the team was full of young talent and in first place. then the season ended due to the strike, same as it did last time the expos were in contention in 1981, but this time it was different, the fall classic was canceled for the first time in 90 years, the Expos lost so much money because of the strike they had to dump payroll, this would come back to haunt them later. Attendance was still at an acceptable leval at an abysmal stadium that turned out to be a $2 billion white elephant. When Jeff Loria bought the team in the late 90s he raised payroll, and begged the financially strapped city for a stadium. Montreal agreed to build a stadium and when it came to sign the papers Loria pushed back from the table citing the absence of a retractable roof, which the city could not afford to pay for,and the team didnt want to pay for. Loria then began cutting ... Read more

Jeff Torborg?!? Are you kidding me? You have one of the best managers in baseball and he wants to stay in Montreal, the absolute worst baseball city in MLB history, and what do you do? You fire him. Felipe Alou should thank the Expos ownership for letting him out of his misery. He will go on to bigger and better things while the Expos will be either disolved or moved to Northern Virginia.

As far as baseball operations go, this team is the class of the league. Their farm system regularly produces among the best talent in the league. Further, their coaching and front office personnel are continuously snatched by other frnachises due to their prowess. Felip Alou is among the most respected managers in the league, and he regualrly assembles a staff that is quickly preyed upon by wealthier franchises. For identical reasons, there are, around the league, at least four former Expos GM's now running other teams. Unfortunately, the fan base - never strong - has eroded in a city with no baseball tradtion, thereby crippling the operations of what would be wildly successful franchise given the necessary financial support. This, however, is not the organization's fault, and it continues to produce exciting young talent, that inevitably ends up elsewhere shortly afterwards (i.e. Pedro Martinez, Larry Walker, Moises Alou, Randy Johnson, etc.), while running on an austerity budge... Get this team out of Montreal. They have no fan support and anywhere else will be a better host city to a baseball team. There is no tradition there - this is a farm system for the real teams in the league.
