In all likelihood, the people who are rating monkey's highly as pets are the type that would also like to have a unicorn in the back yard by their playhouse. We came face to face with an ugly, angry monkey that dropped out of tree when we were walking down a resort pathway in Mexico.  They try to scare the hell out of you in the hope that you will drop all of your stuff and run.  Then they go through your bags looking for snack food. My son, who was 9 at the time said after the face off that not only did the monkey look really mean but he had the biggest balls he'd ever seen.

monkey doesn't funny pet...for me. i dont like it any more. But its make different if you closed and touch it. but some people scare because have tooth may be can eat you. monkey have the clever brain than another pets. we can education it more like child. the act make me like so funny. the monkey living in forrest different animal pets, it can follow the human social living like we can teach how eat human tradition and more activity human being. any country protect the monkey because the population less and any way to made it survive.

Why anyone would want something that throws shit at you is beyond me. Why anyone would want dangerous monkeys and apes is incredible... especially in light of all these chimp attacks in recent years. Haven't people seen the Planet of the Apes films?

Definitely not pets. Although, I think people see chimps, orangutans and monkeys in movies or even the cute picture above and may think otherwise.

THESE ARE NOT PETS!! On the other hand, I wish I had a monkey. They are cute, personable and smart. Lots of personaity and cute. The avatar for this item is a chimp; beware with chimps as they can be quite violent as adults and practice infanticide for no apparent reason. Remember that Chimps do not typically eat meat. It gets worse: on four recorded occasions in the last 50 years, chimpanzees have abducted, killed and eaten human babies. Then again, these guys are practically people. No, screw that, they're better than people. Chimps have done everything from fly jet planes to sleep in the same bed as a former President of the United States. It's that grin, it makes them look like devilish little scamps, like they have some great and hilarious secret they cannot wait to share. And then they put their arms around the action star and snuggle in and everybody goes awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I wish I had a chimpanzee.

UPDATED JANUARY 9, 2009:  Votre singe a pissé en mon cocktailORIGINAL COMMENT:  Too close to humans and too smart to handle. I know a guy who had a monkey for a few days. It escaped and hung from the ceiling by its tail on a pipe. It crapped down the walls. They are messy.

Monkeys are not pets. Do not get one in some desperate attempt to pretend that it is a child or something. They are not meant to be held in domesticated captivity.

they may be cute and amusing to watch. I would never want one for a pet. have heard too many disaster stories of those who have tried to make a "pet" out of these animals.  they were never intended to be pets.

For the fourth billion time, primates are not cute and cuddly pets. 90% of these exotic animals are being sold illegally. Most monkeys carry lethal diseases like hepetitus B(that can be transmitted to humans) and they can also be aggressive when they reach puberty. And if your solution to "bad monkey" problem is to remove their teeth, you should be arrested for animal cruelty. Update: Item description- They're so human! They must make great pets! Look for a fun time if u are to take on one of these creatures. Bitch please! Curious George is not so cute when he's screaming and biting you to death. Update ll: What ever happen to Michael Jackson's chimp?
