Sun Dec 27 2009I purchased several pieces at modern living because they have a great selection of really cool (and REALLY expensive) furniture. I put in the order April 3, 2009... it is now almost January 2010 and I have NOT RECEIVED my stuff!! I call them about every month to check in and they lie to me and tell me that they are going to call me back but never do - I have to call them again and again and never get anywhere. Roberta, the manager, is the only person who seems to know what is going on and even she just shrugs and says, "oh, it's italian you know - I don't know why americans expect things to be done so quickly..." She had no idea when any of my furniture would be done and seemed unwilling or unable to find out any information. When one piece finally showed up a couple weeks ago they still charged me over two hundred dollars to deliver it and absolutely no apology at all! The receipt they gave me and oral confirmation when we ordered the furniture said 16 weeks - I expected to have... Read more

Thu Apr 23 2009It had been a while since I had been to modern living due to the poor service I recieved in the past, but i recently decided to give them shot for their great outdoor furnishings and they sure have changed. The staff is super helpful and very nice. I got continuous updates on my order and my pieces arrived only one week delayed, which is understandable.

Thu Apr 05 2007Similar to other consumers, I found Modern Living to have really nice high end furniture. However, service is REALLY BAD. I decided to memo a bed. They delivered a used bed, pretending it is a new one. It was actually scratched. I declined the bed. They still charged me several hundreds for delivering the defected bed. I strongly recommend you shop at Diva and avoid Modern Living. Not worth the headache.

Wed Jan 10 2007for me its one of the best high end furniture store in the area. the selection are great, very beautiful items. of course the price is high, but for the quality its worth it. if you decide to buy the items that are available on the floor, i highly recommed this store. however if you decide to order it, well thats where my bad experience took place. delivery time----many many delays. you have to keep calling them just to get an update, which they never give a straight forward answer. they dont have any idea when will they receive it (they dont have a time table). Furthermore you will hear tons of EXCUSES for the delays!

Mon Oct 23 2006In Short Drawing on the vibrant Italian design scene, Modern Living showcases a blend of contemporary pieces and 1960s classics produced from vintage molds. Roomy two-story space offers chairs and glass upstairs, beds and kitchen goodies below. At one visit, the mid-stair landing showcased Paola Lenti basket chairs, felt lounges and carpets--a treat for eye and hand. Bright posters give the space a homey feel and the staff is friendlier than you'd expect for the chi-chi neighborhood.

Mon Feb 27 2006The furniture is very contemporary and high-end. They've got a lot of really nice things from the best Italian designers around; however, the staff doesn't seem all that knowledgeable or particularly friendly. Prices are very high, as with most of the stores in this area.
