It seems dated now, but in the 60s it was ssoooo cool.

I was a big fan of these three cooler than cool young people who had the right, because they were cops, to take names and kick ass.  Julie, played by Peggy Lipton, was too skinny, but nevertheless hot.  Clarence Williams was the badest, coolest, dude with a fro, who's favorite line was 'Solid'.  And Michael Cole...mister kick butt!  It was the young generation with authority, and that's what the younger generation wanted!

The pre-teens of the day loved this show. It wasn't as bad as most critics would have you believe. As with most shows that are trying to be cool at a given moment in time they end up by being humorous when seen in the context of today.

I was a kid when this was on and at the time, thought this was neat since the heros were teenagers at the start.I watched this some of the time. I would imagine if I saw it now way older i would not be so in to it. but as a child this was pretty fun to watch.

Idiotic "modern" cop show. Insufferably boring and vapid.

Mods and rockers were British fashion terms that flew over the briny deep and took root here in the mid-1960's. The mods were the outlandishly dressed hippie types. The Rockers were leather wearing types like the Fonz. This show was three hippie cops who were operating in Southern California trying to ferret out criminals preying on the counterculture. It was too bad that the mod fashion was almost over when this series started although it lasted five years or so.

Was there a groovier chick on primetime tv than the luminous Peggy Lipton? Surely, she inspired Marcia Brady to wear her hair long and parted in the middle.

As a pre-teen with a HUGE crush on Michael Cole, I lived for this show when it was on. I thought he was just about the cutest creature on the face of the planet. It's definitely dated, though.

The cast and characters were very good, and I enjoyed the youth centered premise. When I was a young teen, I never missed this show.

A real breakthrough a show way ahead of it's time.

A really stupid and unbelieveable show that tried to exploit the then-current fascination with acid heads and free love types in a cops and robbers setting. What made this ridiculous is that they tried to bridge counterculture styling and ethos with the do-gooder squareness of the oink oinks, which really didn't work because essentially it couldn't. Peggy Lipton was hot looking, but truly bland, Michael Cole was a snooze and Clarence Williams III had this afro that got bigger and bigger as the seasons rolled by. By about the third season, they couldn't get his entire head in the frame.

Good show, but poor Peggy Lipton didnt get to see much action. They always seem to leave her in the car with a window rolled down, when the boys go get the bad guys.

I watched this show regularly when it was first on, and didn't miss an episode. It may seem dated now, but it was new and exciting when it first aired -- and Michael Cole, Clarence Williams III, and Peggy Lipton were very different from the cleancut, all-American teenagers on every other TV show of the time. I wish I could watch reruns of it now, and can think of several episodes in particular that I would like to see again -- does anyone remember the one with Vincent Price? It stays in my mind.

The Mod Squad is a pretty good show, but it is really outdated. Their clothes, accents, and cars are really old and you don't see much of the cast today either. See it for what it's worth.
