Wed Aug 26 2009Keep in mind UOA used oil info show a higher iron in the wear elements than in other oils. Mobil 1 is such a big seller by now something should have shown up. So if this does not bother you go for it.

Fri Dec 26 2008AVERAGE PRODUCT BUT OVER RATED AND OVER ADVERTISED. TRY TO BY GOOD MOTOR OIL FOR A FEW MORE DOLLARS. DO NOT USE CHEAP MOTOR OILS. IT IS THE VERY REASONS WHY ENGINES TODAY DO NOT LAST LONG AND RELIABLE. DO NOT BE CHEAP WITH MOTOR OILS. LOOK FOR A NEW PRODUCT ON THE MARKET BY TOTAL PERFORMANCE MOTOR OILS. GET IT. SUPERB STUFF.

Sun Nov 30 2008the only good mobil oil is the mobil 1 extended performance full synth line. the rest is overrated and overpriced.

Thu Nov 20 2008Mobil 1 is the best. When the engine is cold, Mobil 1 is so light it sprays out instantly, covering the cylinder wall, minimizing wear. If you turn the engine off for a while, Mobil 1 is slow to flow off the cylinder walls, so that when you restart the engine there is virtually no wear. No need to change oil more than every 10,000 miles. If you plan to keep your car for more than five years, you can't afford not to use it!

Fri Nov 14 2008I have used Mobil 1 for about 10 years (through 3 cars), and I have not had any complaints. In fact, when I first started using Mobil 1, back in 1998, I felt a noticable improvement in both performance and fuel economy (with mid-3-liter, six cylinder engines). I only drive about 10K-12K miles per year, as I travel (via air) quite a bit for work, and I change my oil about every 4K to 5K miles. I spend about $35-$40 per oil change - so, I spend about $80-$100 per year on oil changes (I change my own oil.). Prior to 1998 (and coincidentally, prior to getting married), I used to drive a Jaguar JXS, and I used several different performance-grade conventional as well as sythetic motor oils, and I can honestly say that I will never go back to conventional oil. My personal experience tells me that synthetic oil is far superior to conventional oil. And, if I believe the many lab tests and consumer reviews, Mobil 1 is apparently better than other synthetics. So, I am happy with my choice ... Read more

Tue Sep 16 2008Great oil. I have been using it for over 10 years now and put a combined 600,000Km on my vehicles with it. 97 Explorer, 299,000Km right now. Still rolling (my sister owns it), '87 Mustang GT T-Top, 330,000Km (engine now in an '82 Capri), 89 Town Car, 335,000Km. It has always kept my engines VERY clean inside. I go 12,000Km between oil changes.

Sun May 25 2008I put it in my Mitsubishi mirage. Had 80000 miles on it. As soon as i started it up i could definitely tell my engine was running better. It was quieter, there was a small tick that went away, and my gas mileage improved. I just got to 3000 miles, before i would burn a quart, now it stays full the whole time. I am now a mobil man.

Wed May 21 2008A quality product that always rates near the top in published tests. Not worth the extra money if you insist on changing oil every 3000 miles. Really good choice for very cold climates.

Fri Mar 28 2008I have just changed my car's oil, changed from a Motul 8100 E-tech 0w40 to a Mobil 1 0w40, both of them 100% synthetic, and heres my vision about it; The car is running like it has been added 150kg of weight on it... The perfomance achieved while using Motul oil was much much better then using this Mobil 1. I have a Vw Passat 1.8T stick shift, and the thing is, i changed my father's car's oil and it happened the same thing. The car seems heavier, it is noticable that the car's perfomance was compromised. The Motul was also synthetic and had the same viscocity than mobile 1, but when i used it i felt the car with better perfomance. I live in SP, Brazil. I'm rating this oil 1 star, cause imo it seems to compromise the car's perfomance.. And in 2 cases it acted the same way, so imo Mobil 1 SUCKS... MOTUL is much much better.. If you have any doubt, go with Motul, you wont regret it...

Sat Mar 08 2008A very good choice for any type of smaller engine. it is a very good oil to use in sports cars. It is the only oil Porsche both uses and recommends using!

Mon Oct 01 2007Well, I must say... those who give Mobil One accolades are those who have reportedly used it. Those who criticize it and its synthetic brethren don't seem to have used it at all. Granted, this is all self-report, which is notoriously unreliable, but there IS a staggering pattern evident here. Come to think about it, I'm not even sure why I'm posting a comment on this blog. Regardless, here's what I have to say about Mobil 1: I have several vehicles. Two of them are Ford Trucks. One is a 1995 F-250 351 4-wheel drive long bed extended cab. It's white, if it matters. The other is a 1992 Explorer XLT 4.0 Liter 4-wheel drive 4-door. It's black. The F-250 will flip 400,000 this week. It neither burns nor leaks any oil, ever. It runs like a brand new truck. I change the oil every 10,000 miles. The oil is a sweet golden brown when it comes out of the pan. I have used nothing but Mobil 1 for twelve years. I just replaced the engine on my Explorer at 310,000, and not ... Read more

Mon Sep 17 2007Mobil 1 synthetic is a great oil for all vehicles. I used it in my 02 duramax diesel for several years. That was until my grandfather introduced me to Hydrotex. Hyrdotex is a manufacturer of high performance lubrication and fuel improver products and solutions. Mobil 1 advertises up to 40,000 mile oil drain intervals, Hydrotex doesnt advertise. They rely on word of mouth and letting their product speak for itself, besides that every product sold has a lubrication consultant to turn to rather than some 1-800 number. You can get up to 60,000 miles between oil changes, possibly even higher with Hydrotex. I of course was skeptical of this, i have never even heard of Hydrotex, and wondered it is could really do what it says it can. I started using Hydrotex for myself to see if it was for real. It was. I usually average over 50,000 miles between oil changes. I was such a believer in Hydrotex that i did some research on employment with them. I have since joined the Hdrotex team an... Read more

Thu Aug 02 2007From driving Motor Coaches, Tractor Trailers, and Straight Truck Expediteders to my own cars and motorcycles, Mobil 1 is a superior product. How some people figure it is more costly so something else is better is beyond me when it comes to this very vital product. Are tires better that cost less too? Someone proposed Syntec was better and cheaper, it's neither! http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Oils1.html This page has a detailed stat sheet that proves Mobil 1 has higher ratings but that doesn't matter when the cost is comprable because there's no proof to support any synthetic oil will make your engine last longer, what Mobil 1 has is a proven track record and a committment that sets the bar for the rest to follow and that speaks volumes. Syntec has extra additives and moly's that will help ruin a clutch in a motorcycle forcing you to pay almost 50% more then Mobil 1 to have the correct Syntec blend! A superior oil would actually require you to formulate a mixture or create a blend for... Read more

Fri Jul 20 2007I have used it on every car I've had since 1990. When you have 3 4-cylinder cars getting over 100,000 miles, I have to say that the oil is pretty good. Especially when you take them through inspection, and the emissions are almost completely clean. That pretty much proves no engine wear. I change the oil every 7500 miles.

Mon May 14 2007I have a 96 suburban with a 5.7 with 323,000 mile on it now.Motor runs like its a new motor. I change the oil every 15,000 miles with Mobil 1 and filter. I figure its cheaper to use Mobil 1 because if you pay someone $10 labor every 3,000 mile to chane the oil you would have $40 more in labor then you would have with the Mobil 1 15,000 mile change. labor($10),oil, filter($40) 15,000 Mobil 1 oil change= $50 3,000 mile oil change labor, oil and filter $25 x 5 changes to equal 15,000 miles will cost $125. 125 -50 --------- save$75

Tue Mar 27 2007the guy who said 3000k oil changes should be the norm is ignorant.....any api certified oil can go 7500 miles and mobil one could easily go 10000, even 15k w/ a filter and new qt of oil at 7500 miles...all i have read from people who actually tested the oil say syn oil can go 15k w/ filter change and reg oil can go 7500 and more esp in hiway conditions...of course cold starts can be a problem...hi performance engines shoild probably use synthetic oil because of added heat, esp turbos...consumer reports had a big article on nyc taxis 5 years ago and regular oil even in taxis was fine for 7500 miles...dont use additives, most important thing is API certification...plus proper level of oil, not too high or low...i know people who change their oil every 20k and their cars still run...not something i would do or anybody would recommend ,but it shows how good oils are now

Thu Feb 15 2007Mobile 1 or any other full synthetic oil is pretty good stuff. I don't know that it is "worth" the money - but it definitely flows better in cold weather, breaks down less with heat, and cleans your engine better than conventional oil. As for the extended drain intervals - Mobile 1 may last as long as they claim, but synthetic oil gets dirty just as fast as conventional oil. My truck calculates the drain interval based on rpm, time, mileage, temperature, etc. and it usually goes 7,000 miles between changes. The oil still looks good with the long drain interval with highway driving. However I would not suggest using any oil for this length of time in dusty conditions.

Mon Jan 15 2007For the price you better have an oil that last for 20,000 miles. 6 dollars a quart I see this priced sometimes. Don't waste your money on mobil one synthetic blend. For years mobil claimed that it had the only 100 percent PAO basestock. Now that it does. Now it has some group III hydroprocessed petro basestock. There are synthetics that perform just as well and cost a lot less. You would be better off buying Castorl syntec.

Sun Dec 24 2006i have used may oils in the past but i will only use mobil 1. it is the best out their it might be a little more but its well worth it. its a lot easier with cold start up with the synthetic.......

Tue Nov 14 2006I laugh when geniuses claim that they notice a performance difference or cooler engine temps.....that is absolute stupidity. The only way you can tell a difference is how long the engine lasts and the cleanliness after you breakdown the engine. However in extreme cold weather the synthetic will flow much better and protect better at startup. I used Mobil 1 10W-30 in my 82 F150 4.9 6 and got 375,000 miles out of the inline 6 before I sold it. Any idiot that changes synthetic oil every 3000 miles has more money than brains...the additives are godd for over 10,000 miles so change oil every 7500 miles.

Tue Oct 03 2006I have consistently used Mobil 1 in all my vehicles in the past. After I started using it in my "06 Ford Expedition with the 5.4l, it started using oil at the rate of 1l per 4000km +/-. I went back to the manufacturers recommendation of a 5w20 oil and it's been fine ever since.

Thu Jul 20 2006Im having a hard time understanding people changing oil at 5000 or even 7500 miles. Bull Crap! Their is no motor oil that can seriously offer the longevity they claim. It is impossible to know how everyone drives, where they drive, and all the other conditions that effect an oil change. Whatever oil you use, you should always change your oil at 3000 miles. Some people as anal as myself change the oil at 2000 miles (I have a lot of stop and goes in this city). I feel really sorry for people that actually pick up a bottle, read only the front of the bottle and say to themselves that they can go 7500 miles without an oil change. Read the fine print on the back morons!!!

Wed May 31 2006If it worked in my 97 Civic and the car engine at idle is still as it was before putting 149K miles on it thats says something about the oil. Change it regularly at 3-4K and you will never see engine performance decline.

Fri Mar 10 2006Have you considered mobil 7500 synthetic blend formulation. I have 2 new vehicles which recommend oil changes at 7000 miles. To me that's extreme. I change mine at 5000. For the price and warranty it's a great deal. Oh yea, I do buy mine at wally-world. Mobil 7500 warranty info link-http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_Clean_7500_Warranty.asp x

Tue Jan 24 2006WHAT DOES IT MATTER. JUST AS LONG AS IT WORKS UP TO YOUR STANDERS THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. ALL OF YOU THAT CALL US ROBOTS AND SAY THAT WE JUST BUY THE MOBLE 1 JUST BECAUSE IT IS LABELED AS A GREAT OIL. YOU ARE JUST STUBBERN, SO YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT IF MOBLE 1 COST $2.00 A QUART YOU WOULD NOT BUY IT JUST BECAUSE IT IS OVER RATED. GIVE ME A BREAK GET OVER IT, USE IT IF YOU LIKE, IT AND IF YOU DONT THAT IS YOUR CHOICE. NO REASON TO TELL US THAT WE ARE BRAIN WASHED, ROBOTS, STUPID. FOR ME IT WORKS GREAT. I USED QUACKER STATE IN MY WIFES SATURN, NOT A GOOD OIL, CLOGED THE OIL FILITER IT JUST RAN HORABLE. MOBLE 1 IS GIVING ME THE BEST RESULTS. SO IF YOU LIKE IT THEN US IT, IF NOT THEN DONT BUY IT. NO ONE IS TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO.

Tue Jan 03 2006They are quality oils but not worth the price- I would never use that 15,000 mile oil I don't trust a claim like that. They basically are overrated.

Wed Feb 16 2005The people who buy Mobil 1 are robots, just blind faith and obediance to mass-marketing hype. Amsoil outshines Mobil 1 in all performance categories but wont stock Wal-Marts shelves so they are put down. Mobil designs their oil down to Walmart prices, Amsoil refuses to do that and consistantly produces higher quality oil.
