After moving into NYC over 8 years ago, a friend suggested that I get my highlights fixed by Yossi. My hair is so healthy and my highlights always look so natural. Yossi is incredibly talented in all aspects of haircare; coloring, highlights, haircuts, up-do's. In fact, I consistently receive compliments from friends and strangers alike on my highlights and haircuts--and its all due to Yossi! Everyone in the salon is very friendly and professional. Its truly a treat to visit there!

I am a picky and critical person - especially when it comes to getting a haircut. Based on a friend's recommendation, I booked an appointment with Buddy to get a cut. I was seriously impressed. I came in with an obscure reference to a French Revolution military hair style and Buddy got it 100%. I cannot recall ever being more satisfied with a haircut or stylist. Buddy was meticulous and really focused on what he was doing. Nothing is worse than feeling like a stylist is rushing through a job or bored and not really into it, but Buddy clearly loves what he does and takes it seriously. I found out he has years of hair/makeup freelance experience in L.A. doing music videos, commercials, and editorial work. It shows. I happened to just stumbled upon the name of this salon, through Citysearch, after having to cancel an appointment at another salon around the corner, and boy am I glad things fall into place this way. Angie cut and styled my hair, and listened, understood, and really had a grasp of what technically needed to be done to achieve the look I wanted. I'm just so happy that an upsetting afternoon of being blown off by another salon turned into a really great find. Totally happy with my cut, and definitely will be returning!

I've been getting my hair cut by Albert for the last year. He has transformed my dry, color damaged waves to beautiful, natural curls with a reddish brown glow. Not only is the styling and color great, but the atmosphere is so relaxed, UN snotty face and fun. Great people, great music, great service, people of all ages and types all of whom are treated by the stylists, Maureen the owner and staff as great friends. Last visit, I learned that one of the stylists, Buddy, shapes eyebrows and does makeup which I tried for a major birthday party. The result, fantastic. He spent years in LA doing makeup in Hollywood and the result, like my hair, was subtle, natural and awesome. I can't say enough nice things about the place. And I've been to more salons in this city -- most of whom don't have a clue about how to style curly hair. I get so many complements. Albert rocks. As do Maureen and Buddy. Check it out.

Yossi has been giving me highlights since I moved to NY six years ago -- he is the best! When I walk out of the salon, I have beautiful, natural looking blonde hair that is just the right color for me. I always receive compliments on my hair from friends. Even better, most new people I meet think I am naturally blonde. Definitely go to Yossi for highlights!!!

I just moved to Chelsea and was looking for a new colorist. I stoped in and saw Megan for hi-lights. She did a great job, at a good price. I was very happy with the space and the people washing my hair. It was a nice experence.

Go to Monica for highlights. I have going to her for years and am always happy. She knows what she is doing and gives great advice (hair and otherwise). She does my blond highlights and lowlights and I am always happy with the results. I highly recommend her. And Angie gives an excellent cut.

I was curious to try out a new posh salon. To my disappointment the work I rate as average, something that i could have gotten at my small local salon for 100 bucks but instead paid 4 times more. Whats even more disappointing was that i felt like i bought one of those vouchers off the street and that the charges were being racked up without my knowledge. I will stick to my other posh salon as I had many compliments about my hair from them which costs just as much maybe even less than this salon. This was definately a lesson learned.

I have never written a review before but I feel this is truly worth it. I moved to NYC last year and have been searching for someone who can give me great highlights at a price less than what I pay in rent. Monica was exactly what I was looking for. She took the time to consult with me about what I wanted and what would look good on my skin tone. I have been to several other big name salons in NYC and they have nothing over Monica. I have gotten more compliments on my hair since she did my highlights than with anyone else! On top of her talent, she is a sweet person which made the expericence all the better!

I scheduled an appointment at the very last minute and had no problems. I had to wait a little while for the shampoo girl to get my hair washed, but once Angie started on my hair I was more than happy. The cut perfectly suits my face, and she blended the layers in perfectly. She didnt overwhelm my hair with products and it came out looking great! The salon was very clean and serence and the cut was amazing.. I couldnt be happier!

I'm new to manhattan and very fussy about my hair!! I went to see Monica after reading about her in city search . Monica was just sweet as can be very down to earth and pleasant . I really appreciated the time she took , her honesty and patience ( i couldn't figure out what exactly wanted to do !! ). My friend recommended this salon and I'm glad I went, my hair looks fantastic! Yossi did an amazing job on my highlights. I've been to a bunch of really fancy places in the city, but I never liked the results and they never listened to me. This time when I got home my fiancee said I should be on TV. I'm the type of person who envies bold, sassy looks on others, but tends to be a little bit of a wallflower when it comes to getting them done on myself. Nonetheless, I do try. I've been to a ton of different hair stylists around Manhattan and worn many different colors, but I've never found a stylist I felt "got" my ideas or really cared about what I wanted or what might look good on me--until I was referred by a coworker to Megan Cost over at M.Mcleod. Maybe it's because she's from california--both chilled out and style-savvy. Megan is super sweet and really encouraging when I want to try something new, but also refreshingly honest when I want to do something stupid. I just moved here from california, I tried few salons already and I was never happy with the results I got. Telling a co-worker she told me about Megan at M.Mcleod. I went to see her and she put me at ease right away. I really felt like she listened to me and worked with me about what would look best. I have never loved my hair more, I recomend anyone to go and see her, she is great!!!!

I just wanted to add that I have gotten my hair done by Lisa Caccavale and she is phenomenal. Lisas ideas for my hair were always just what I needed. When I wash my hair, it falls right into the cut I have been given and I dont have to do much to style it. Her hair cuts just look so great, she also know what type of cut is more suitable for my face structure. Besides that, her personality is great and she is such a sweet person. You can't go wrong with Lisa, she has the background in professional hair schooling and experience. I always tell my friends about her!

I followed Angie from TwoDo Salon 5 years ago because she always does such a fantastic job. I actually tried a different salon and stylist last year, and totally regretted it, so now I'm back to Angie and will never trust anyone else with my hair again! Everyone at the salon is always really friendly, and everytime I go there I feel totally calm and relaxed. I highly recommend going there!

M. Mcleod (f/k/a Benisty) hands down has the best team. I've been going to Lisa (for cut) and Monica (for color) for a number of months. I've never been happier. Each lady is simply wonderful in her own ways. Lisa creates pure magic with scissors, she's given me a trendy cut that is easy to manage and truly fits me. I cannot rave enough about it. I have had long hair for the LONGEST time and i needed a change desperately! I wanted to get it cut without being in hairshock...so i decided that i wanted to get an asymmetric bob. On my first visit, I asked for Lisa (as previously recommended by my sister) and told her what i wanted. I gradually went back within 3 months of time, I went shorter and got a real asymmetric bob!!! I showed LISA a picture and not only did she give me what i wanted, she did it better in her own way to accomodate your personal style with her own touch! I promise you will love your hair afterwards!!! My friends have long hair and they get trims all the time from her and it looks JUST as good!!! I was in NYC last week so i made an appoinment with MONICA based on the city search reviews it is no words to described how sweet, talented and honest monica is!! Afther a professional consultation i told her to do whatever she thought was the best for me , (i'm a natural over process blonde) she did my single process and to add some dimention she did some twist with a little darker shade ,and for the final touch i got a glaze!! the color is beautifull and my natural blonde "shows trough" in a natural and healthy way, i won't need all of the maintenance i did before!! i will be flying every other month to have monica do her magic . thank you MONICA

Benisty just rocks like no other salon. The decor is gorgeous and relaxing and the folks that work there are the best. They know how to make you look your best, are fun to be around, make you feel comfortable and always listen. I have been going there for almost three years and Maureen?s highlights are always absolutely stunning. Lisa?s haircuts are amazing ? she understands hair and how to make it look beautiful. Between the highlighting and haircutting goddesses, I feel like I leave with a new head of hair, which I much prefer.

If you are looking for an amazing colorist you must see Leslie. She has been doing my blond w/ highlights for years and I am constantly getting compliments from complete strangers on what a pretty color I have! She is the best! She always asks for input from the customer about what they really want and then she does it which is not always the case at other salons.... She also gives great advice when one isn't sure about what they want. I have always left HAPPY!

Lisa is the only hair stylist that I have stuck with for years. Her work is not too trendy, but gorgeous. She makes you feel beautiful. People (whom of which I don't even know) will ask me who cuts my hair....that's the best compliment a stylist can get. Then they go to her, and stick with her. Lisa did my hair for my wedding and I've been going to her ever since - 12 years. Incidentally, I ditched my husband but I kept her...that's how good she is. She has a knack for giving you just the right haircut for your personality. Her haircuts are always hip and very stylish and easy to manage...plus they grow out really well!

I ran into a friend that works at a very fashionable ad agency and she had the most incredible haircut, naturally I asked her where she got it. She told me she had gone to Benisty and had Lisa cut her hair...not only is it a great haircut that looked great when she left the salon, but Lisa did such a good job that the next morning when she got up and showered, she could do her hair just as well...that never happens. So, naturally I called Benisty immediately, and went to see Lisa the next day, and I am just as happy! I have had so many compliments on my hair and I love it! And, it's affordable! She's great and she's also a lot of fun to chat with while she's cutting your hair.
