In the past, I normally treated this as a takeout sushi place and yesterday was the first time I dined in. The difference in quality is like night and day. The pieces you get when you dine in are bigger and, of course, fresher. My spouse says it's because they know you can tip them at the restaurant, which makes sense. I recommend dining in rather than taking out for that very reason. I usually get the Sushi Deluxe or Mizu Combo. Both are well worth it because they always seem to throw in an extra piece of sashimi. I've eaten sushi in Boston, New York, and Philly and can say that this is decent stuff. Not the best, but decent for the price.

The food is fantastic, remarkable, exquisite, and amazing. One of the best sushi places I have ever been to, and the people that work there are the utmost passionate and gentile with their work. The service is outstanding and the people are polite. ONE OF THE BEST!!!

Mizu is definitely not gourmet...but it's also very reasonably priced. Mizu has just about the best quality for price exchange for sushi in the entire city. It seems like I'm in there everyday. The staff is also consistently nice and attentive. Again, not gourmet, but easy and very affordable.

Sushi was okay. I wasn't knocked out by it. The portions were generous enough. I have to say though, this place has nothing compared to Vic's Sushi, which is just around the corner on Sansom, between 20th & 21st (not listed in Citysearch). Vic's has very affordable deals, creative makis, incredible freshness, and fast service - and seems to do everything better than Mizu.

I had spicy tuna rolls and my boyfriend had the spicy california rolls. The food was incredible. Everything tasted so good. I definitely recommend calling ahead to get your food because this place is VERY BUSY. It's cheap but it's definitely worth it. I felt a little nauseous after eating the spicy tuna roll but I ate a lot of junk food after it so it could have been anything really. I'd go back again but I'd probably order the spicy california roll because it was very good as well! The Mizo soup and green salad were incredible. I've never had better!

As a college student, my budget is pretty tight. My friends and I found Mizu to be a great bargain. The food was delicious and cheap. Also, the two vegetarians in our party found plenty of options to choose from. I would recommend this as a quiet place to relax and enjoy an excellent, fresh meal with great service.

I've eaten at MIZU several times. I continue to do so because its simply a great place to eat in general. Everyone I've taken there always takes someone else they know. Its a rgeat place to eat, its a great place to talk, its a place with AFFORDABLE Sushi! Just make sure you don't stay to long or you'll wind up having such a good time you order 7 rounds of Sushi like my one friend and I did and won't be able to move well enough to leave. I'll be checking out their new location on 40th St. soon. I hope its exactly the same, if not better. I LOVE THIS PLACE! You will too...

Mizu is a cute little sushi place with a very friendly staff. On my first visit there, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that most maki rolls are 12 delicious pieces. As a vegetarian, I only got avocado and cucumber rolls which I thought were great despite being fish-less. My omnivorous friend opted for the fish persuasions of sushi (filling up on a dragon roll and an Alaskan roll) which she was very impressed with. The ingredients in both were fresh and tasted amazing. The best part about experiencing such scrumptious sushi was that the prices were very affordable, especially for a Center City spot.

With creative rolls, a limited, but ocean-fresh assortment of nigiri and sashimi and best of all GREAT customer service. Mike (the owner) and his mom - who fills in on lunch shift makes terrific maki and party platters. The gyoza, salads, Huey Du Bap and Udon are also tasty treats. YOU GOTTA TRY IT! If you don't see it - ask - they'll make it. (My yellow-tail, cucumber, scallion, "little bit spicy" handrolls are DA-BOMB!
