Not as big as Marukai, but still a great selection of Japanese products. The best part is the food court. They have the best ramen house called Sanoku!! Best ramen I've ever had!

Wonderful selection of Japanese items. Plus they have specialty items such as Japanese sandwiches with pork cutlet or potato salad sandwich. They also have musubi (rice balls filled with goodies). Outstanding sake collection. Most likely the best place to get sake in US! They also have a food stand in the market that serves cheap Japanese food plus there is wonderful shops in the mall it is in as well.

Less crowded and with better parking than Nijiya on Sawtelle, Mitsuwa has everything a Japanese market should: good (albeit expensive) produce, authentic prepared foods (try the bento and unagi-don in addition to sushi), and all the goofy snack foods that make convenience stores in Japan so much fun to visit (Men's Pocky is a perennial favorite). There's also a bookstore, food court, and gift boutique.

In Short This super-clean Japanese supermarket features aisles of fresh produce, impressive meat and seafood counters as well as many hard-to-find specialty items. Along with noodles, rice, drinks, bread and canned goods, shoppers can choose from a wide array of snack foods and desserts not found in American food stores. The liquor aisle offers several brands of sake and Japanese beer as well as a full line of Japanese soft drinks.

What else can we say about this store? Ever since discovering it about a year ago, we shop there almost every week without fail. We are huge sushi lovers, and we find making it at home is much more enjoyable and economical than eating out. Therefore, our visits to Mitsuwa, with its bountiful selection of sashimi-grade fish and all the sushi accoutrements, are essential to our well-being. This store is fantastic!!!
