Wed Dec 02 2009Sorry, not a good coach. A hypocrite who berates and belittles refs and whines when things don't go his way. Doesn't know his x's and o's as well as most others and the NBA players he produces are almost always a bust.

Wed Apr 01 2009How many times have you paid the refs?

Fri Oct 24 2008This guy is the most overrated coach in College history. He has landed some decent recruits over the years, but it was their talent that won games not his coaching. The only reason he is not terrible is because he is a better coach at the international game then in college.

Sun Jul 13 2008I don't like him. It pains me to give him this rating

Tue Jun 26 2007UNC fans are born thinking this man is evil---and you can't say that's unfounded, because he looks it. The bottom line, however, is that this man is a pretty good coach. Do I think he'll ever amount to Smith? No, but I think he is a great student of his old rival's method. Krzy really knows how to manage the players, and his power over them truly belies that signature small frame.

Thu Dec 08 2005Great coach...easily one of the best. Has great knowledge of the game. But he isn't Dean or Rupp quite yet.

Fri Nov 18 2005Biggest hypocrite in college basketball. Always talking about how it's the "relationships" that count, yet lets it be known in no uncertain terms that it's all about winning with him. Whines more than any other coach if a call goes against his team, and is the biggest teacher of "flopping" to draw fouls that I've ever seen. It's all about ego too. Petitioned the NCAA to remove the losses from his record the year he bailed on his team because of back problems. With Coach K its ego above all else.

Wed Nov 16 2005Second greatest NCAA basketball coach only to John Wooden.
by crackerjacket
Sat Aug 06 2005Potty mouth who rides the refs too much and benefits from a wealth of talent not such much a wealth of coaching ability. If he didn't curse and ride the refs constantly I'd rate him higher than a 2.
by john_hayen
Mon Jun 27 2005It gets no better in todays game and world of college hoops and athelets. He is the modern day equal to John Wooden. Coach K is simply the best coach in the game today for both what he provides his atheltes on and off the floor.

Mon May 16 2005Read the New Orleans Newspaper about how Coach K got Duhon's mother a job. ABout Boozer's father getting a job. About players like Brand and Avery driving Lincoln Navigators for years as students. Ask him about Cory Maggette getting paid thousands of dollars by a convicted crack felon--thereby making him ineligible--yet Duke suffered NO NCAA sanctions or repercussions. One of the most hollow sham programs in the history of the modern world.

Mon May 16 2005He would have to be in the top 3 or 4.

Wed May 04 2005Though I can't pronounce his name, he is one of the greatest coaches of all time. The early entry of Duke players into the NBA has hurt Coach K of late. But year in and year out, he fields a classy team and carries himself with great poise and dignity. I guess the true testament would be if my son were going to be a college hoopster (that ain't gonna happen unless the NCAA changes the rules and awards 4 points for airballs), I would want Coach K to mentor him.

Wed May 04 2005**update- say what you will about the commercial but coach k hardly needs a recruiting ploy, he was offered a lot of money to do a commercial and he did it, i cant blame him for that. In recent years Coach K has never had a problem recruiting the best in the country so I really dont think this commercial has anything to do with that issue.**I think it's completely ludicrous that UNC fans would come here and give him poor ratings. I personally gave Dean Smith a 4 because even though i don't like UNC i don't let that affect my opinions. Coach K is one of the best coaches of all time, no matter who you root for. No matter what kind of team he has to deal with (i.e. a team plagued by injuries, the loss of lou deng, and there number one recruit) he still has great seasons. I came into this year with little hope for my blue devils but Kryzewski has coached them to a 22-4 record. He is an excellent coach and my vote for coach of the year. i understand your point lazyland, b/c everyone... Read more

Wed May 04 2005He looks to me like he would be a pervert, and I dont say that because I hate Dook. He really does give off that vibe to me......like he would have a peephole from his office to the showers or something.I bet you anything he has gone down on Wojo before....or, at least on Laetner. He's got that pool party at my house! vibe.))))))))))))))) )))))))))UPDATE. Carolina-5, Dook-3 (with tighter boy anus). BTW, you're right, we do get the best TALENT! I wonder why! HA HA, somebody just tried to burn me by saying Carolina gets all the TALENT! HA HA, NO SH&T;, SHERLOCK!))) )))))))))))UPDATE. I read that American Express may be trying to get out of their contract with him, because so many people are cancelling their cards due to the affiliation with him. And for those that would like him as a mentor for their kids, I suggest you stop being so naive and easily influenced by the media. He is no choir boy. There have been several instances of less than honorable behavior. I want go into them, but if ... Read more

Mon Mar 21 2005I'm just being stubborn because his name is hard to spell and his face looks weird.. and I hate Duke. He's a good coach, but wtf, he has the sharpest features in his face that I've ever seen.. It freaks me out when he yells, he looks like a witch.
by lazyland
Thu Mar 10 2005Low 5 stars. Not coach of the year though, I would rather that go to some coach that gets less recognition.
by bludvl4ever
Thu Feb 24 2005The only reason anyone would ever even consider ranking Krzyzewski below a four is because they're a tar heel fan and they're tired of getting beat every year. This man has a winning percentage of over .750.... and that includes his time at Army. Everyone has to face it, he is one of the top 5 greatest basketball coaches of all time
by bdawknumber20
Tue Feb 22 2005One of the great coahces of all time in any sport. He has great class, recruits good kids, and has a top notch program year in and year out. Great Coach

Thu Nov 18 2004I was extremely offended when he exposed his boobs during last year's ACC tourny. I was even more offended when his wife exposed her penis. Come on, dookies, that's not very christian like. Man, this guy's wife makes Christopher Walken look like Julia Roberts.
by maximumk2004
Fri Oct 15 2004What's more frustrating: spelling his name or beating his Duke teams? The man's ability to pull together not only a team, but an entire campus is second-to-none. Hell, the court he coaches on is named after him and he's nowhere near retirement yet.
by waxedturdcutte_r
Mon Oct 04 2004This guy is a tremendous fraud. I have never seen someone so masterfully play the media, the refs and even his own student body and get credit for it as though he actually deserves it. How can anyone who has ruined and wasted so many McDonald's All Americans possibly be considered a great coach?
by clarkone68
Thu Sep 16 2004Pretty easy to win when you can bend NCAA rules and have refs who give you every single call in every single game. It's also nice that he lets his plaers take such difficult classes as Nursery Rhymes 101, Long Division, an Learning the Alphabet 101.

Wed Jul 21 2004THE BEST THERE HAS EVER BEEN!
by jkhudson
Tue Jul 06 2004I'm a UNC alum, but I have to admit that K is an outstanding coach. The numbers speak for themselves. Still, the Duke program isn't as picture perfect as the media seem to think. The players' SAT scores are dramatically lower than those for Duke as a whole, and almost all of them major in sociology, a notorious gut. (These same things are true at UNC too, but the Vitales of the world have never created the misimpression that UNC players are brilliant scholars who just happen to play hoops.)
by naabtctdye
Mon Jun 28 2004Recently there can't be much argument about Duke pros. What about the #1 pick in 99'. Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, Carlos Boozer, Grant Hill, and maybe Jay Williams if his back is ok. The only failures have been Mike Dunleavy, William Avery, and Trajan Langdon.

Fri Apr 30 2004Perhaps the best ever.. you can;t argue with success.. I suspect a lot of people vote lower for him because they just hate Duke

Mon Apr 05 2004Even the haters can't dispute the numbers.

Thu Mar 25 2004Frankly, I personally cannot stand the looks like a rat smelling blue cheese Coach Mike Krzyzewski; however, he is clearly one of the best coaches, if not the best college basketball coach today. To his credit, Coach K has generally recruited based on who will be a good college player as opposed to who will be the best pro (as evidenced by the pro careers of the Duke alumni, or actually the lack of same). On the downside, Coach K abandoned his team when he had a loser in the early 1990's (we will just have to wait and see if his back hurts enough again under similar circumstances), and he has not really been all that innovative, resulting in a loss of a star. Duke players have historically stayed through their senior years (though there have been some recent exceptions), as opposed to a school like North Carolina, which has suffered from many early departures to the pros. Duke teams have often lacked poise and discipline. Historically, Duke teams have been very undisciplined and unsp... Read more
