Tue May 11 2010Dr. Zimber is the best vet I have ever met. Recently my dog had a rare disease having to do with his chewing muscles. After spending almost 800 hundred dollars at Irondequoit Animal Hospital my dog continued to get sicker and remained undiagnosed. It seemed as though they were literally robbing my blind and my poor dog just got worse. When I decided to take my dog to Midtown Veterinary Clinic Dr. Zimber took one look at him and diagnosed him within 3 minutes. After 8 hours after being on the meds Dr. Zimber gave him I noticed a huge improvement in his condition; this was after being sick for almost a month. Dr. Zimber is the best vet I have ever met. He is compassionate and very kind to both his patients and their owners and doesn't try to just take your money. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Zimber. He is just simply amazing and saved my best friend life!!!! I will never ever go anywhere else as long as Dr. Zimber remains in practice. Jessica

Mon Jul 20 2009Both my dogs go to Dr. Zimber at Midtown , and I can't say enough good things about him. He is kind and patient with our animals, even my older dog, who can be a huge pain when at the vets. He remembered our puppy by name when he met us outside the hospital, and he'd only met her once. What a lovely man.

Tue Mar 18 2008You will never find a better veterinarian.Really.Never.Add to that how inexpensive Dr.Zimber is and it would be dumb to go any where else.I have had to use other vets in Rochester from time to time and I always feel I am being forced to make a choice between my pets life and the financial cost.Even for non-emergency procedures Dr. Zimber is the most reasonable.I cannot say enough about Dr. Zimber.Even if he was more expensive it would be worth every penny.

Thu Nov 08 2007While living in Rochester (4 years), I discovered Midtown Vet and Dr. Zimber after being ridiculously overcharged several times at a vet in Pittsford ($200 to remove a thorn from my cat's chin). In a little one-story building that is reminiscent of the vets my family used back in the 70's, I found the best veterinarian and staff that I could ever ask for. Twice he saved my animals' lives - literally. Once, when my cat disappeared then showed up four days later with a devastating wound and nearing death, the Pittsford vet wanted to perform exloratory surgery at a cost of $750 to $1000. I called Dr. Zimber's office, and they took her immediately. They saved her life, and we saved hundreds of dollars. Although money isn't the main issue when it comes to keeping our animals healthy, let's be real - money IS important. Dr. Zimber is very informative about everything you need to know to keep your pets healthy, and he will do it while saving you every dollar he can. He is a no-thrills... Read more

Mon Apr 02 2007I am an avid dog lover and have been taking my animals to Midtown Veterinary Hospital in Downtown Rochester for over 25 years now. During this time I have had four dogs (two Great Danes and two mutts) and have always received the highest level of care there for my pets. Dr. Zimber is an excellent veterinarian and is very experienced. He is both knowlegeable and personable, and gets my highest praise. His office rates are also very reasonable compared to other vets in the area. Dr. "Z" has always done an excellent job of evaluating my pet's overall health, helping me understand medical conditons and options, and advising me on decisions that affect my pet's health, including routine care and nutrition and dealing with crises and end of life decisions. I highly recommend Midtown Veterinary Hospital to all animal lovers in the Rochester area.

Wed Sep 15 2004I have been taking my dog to Midtown Vet Hospital for a little over 3 years. Service is great, Dr. Zimmer is thorough and spends as much time with you to explain what is going on with your pet as you want and he is very knowledgeable. About 2 weeks ago, she (our dog) underwent ACL knee reconstructive surgery at the hospital and everything has turned out great. It made me realize that this is a quality place to take your pet for both routine exams and major procedures.
