Mia Francesca

This is the flagship restaurant of a very good local italian restaurant group. It is typically crowded and the tables are close, which are its only drawbacks. It is brightly lit, noisy and fairly trendy, but the service is friendly and the food is usually excellent. The patio and coach house out back are fantastic.

Great restaurant, great location, but always a long wait.

Mia Francesca has amazing food and a lively, energetic atmosphere. In the summer, there is a quaint garden/courtyard waiting area. The coach house in back is a fabulous location for a small dinner party - cozy and charming! Mia doesn't take reservations so expect to wait.

The food (Italian) and the atmosphere rank a 5, easily. But the need to wait long at the bar for a table, while you gaze at other people savoring their dinners, detracts a bit from the greatness of this restaurant.

One of the best places for pasta and veal in Chicago.
