Mercedes heard us and times have changed. The 2006 ML500 is as good as any crossover SUV gets. Great build quality, great performance, and no more cheap plastics and NO rattles! I would give it an A+, but the huge blind spots do sometimes make it a challenge to drive in traffic.

Just say no Mercedes! How you have lowered your standards to produce yet another selfish urban vehicle. I cringe when I see your once proud emblem on this modified school bus.

I really wouldn't buy this. It's smaller than a Ford Escape! Mercedes make excellent cars- which is what they should be making, not these SUV wannabees. Try going off road with this cute ute. Let Hummer and Land Rover make the SUVs!

2000 model. Better than a Range rover, but had problems with engine stopping while driving at highway speed. Must put in park to restart, which is hard to do in fast lane of interstate. Had 4 incidents like this over one year. Dealer finaly took car back. Good service from dealer, but service Mgr. had other vehicles with same problems. I no longer drive a MB.

I haven't driven it but my cousin waited for 1 full year for his. When it did arrive I thought it would be more substantial. It is a refined vehicle but too small, looks like a mini-van on steroid. My cousin (2 adults, 2 children) are finding it doesn't carry enough gear, especially on N Cal trips for the weekend. Gets good gas mileage and is very smooth to drive. Is the price worth it??Consumer reports gives it poor ratings so you make the choice.

I had the pleasure of recently driving a new M-Class on a 150 mile trip. Contrary to what the whiners say this is not a huge vehicle. I found it to be comfortable and fun to drive. Part of the trip was through a blinding thunderstorm. The vehicle was extremely stable and because of the high of the seating, vision of the road was excellent. The mileage (for the ML320)is about the same as many domestic mini-vans. Overall this is a fantastic vehicle. Don't knock it unless you have driven one.

This is the only SUV that doesn't completely suck. It still sucks, just not as much as the rest, mainly because of actual suspension and a non-truck-like design.

Mercedes Benz rocks! They can do no wrong! Eat your heart out Infiniti and Lexus. Stop beefing up Nissans and Toyotas and try to build a quality machine from scratch.

Yeah, right. A hugely expensive unnecessarily huge vehicle.

It provides you the luxury of driving a car made by mercedes, which is great, but you are now elevated higher and can go any where and not worry about getting 'stuck in the mud.'

I appreciate MB's efforts to make a safer SUV.
