Meijer.com has a horrible inventory and shipping problem. I ordered an item that was listed as being "in stock" online. In most online stores, this means that it is in the warehouse, ready to ship. Not Meijer.com... To them, "in stock" means that they can order it from a vendor. They then set a status of the order as being "In Progress" for anywhere from 2-7 work days, depending on the item. This in-progress time is not easily understood by most online customers because we expect that a small time for perhaps a billing or accounting check might take one day at most. Most online stores process the billing immediately with no delay whatsoever. Not Meijer.com... I sent a note to Customer Service via their online feedback system and got a note back saying that I should have noticed that there is a 5-7 day processing time for the item that was listed BELOW the "add to cart" button. Most online stores make that clear well before you get to the "add to cart" button *and* they pres... Read more

Incorrect product came with incorrect packing slip. It's nine days since my order and I've received one incorrect product. Customer service encourages me that I should hear from Meijer in three or four days to begin the rectification process. We'll see.. No email contact information on their site that I could ascertain.I doubt I'd do business with these people again.

I have read many reviews criticizing Meijer from a consumer point of view. Much of this is entitled customer rubbish, where people fail to read signs (thus they claim to be overcharged because they pick up a 30oz bottle instead of a 10oz), use the self check out fast lanes when they do not have the knowledge or patience to learn how to do so, and go shopping at midnight and expect the same kind of service as during the day. There is a delusion that just because you have a dollar, that you OWN the people who work there. This is wrong. It is not moral. Meijer like all big-box stores is a direct result of how Americans have chosen to spend their money. YOU wanted bigger, faster, cheaper. You got sprawl, u-scans, and chinese lead-laden garbage, and overworked underpaid employees who are working their hardest just to make ends. What I have learned as a customer and an employee of Meijer is that the customer is NOT always right. People must go home at some decent hour. Watching people on C... Read more

I ordered a mini trampoline 7 days ago, and the website says 2-3 days to process. It is now a week later, no ship date, no answer from their customer service. They can't even tell me when it will ship, etc, etc. They are upset that I keep calling each day. It was a christmas present for my daughter and now it will not arrive, so I am rightfully upset. They are rude, they lack the expertise to answer simple questions, and they have false statements on their website. I would avoid at all costs.

I places an ordered with Meijer.com last night using the promo code that ws shown on the store ad. It was for free shipping on order over $100 and a $20 Meijer gift card. I entered the promo code. It came up and said promo code accepted, but did not take off the free shipping. When I called Meijer.com I also found out I didn't not received the $20 gift card either. I was told that I had not created a profile, so I didn't get the promo code. Not anywhere in the promo code detail did it say you had to create a profile. Here's what the offer detail page stated: Offer available online only. Only one promo code per order. You must enter promo code MONDAY during checkout to receive this offer. Free shipping (up to a maximum of $20) is computed on the merchandise total after all other discounts are deducted but before tax, shipping and handling, and other surcharges are calculated. Meijer Refrigerated Whole Kosher Dills. I have been a pickle lover for 50+ years. I have a garden and have been trying to duplicate my grandmothers crock pickles for years. There is NO other commercial packed pickle that comes close to the Meijer cold pickles. Don't care how far you travel or how much you spend these refrigerated whole pickles are great. NYC deli pickles are close. What an outstanding product. Thank You.

I ordered this costume for my fiancé for an Oktoberfest party. I ordered it plenty in advance to make sure it arrived on time. I received the package on Tuesday evening for a Saturday party. It was not however a male Hansel costume, instead it was a female gothic witch costume. My fiancé called Meijer and emailed them and was told that they did not do exchanges. However, this was not an exchange; they had sent the wrong costume. Had I reordered that date (being charged again for the costume that I had already paid for once), I would have had to pay for expedited shipping to get it on time. What we asked for was that Meijer send a costume to us via expedited shipping on their dime since it was completely their mistake. In the end, customer service at all levels was poor and finally on Friday after spending hours on the phone with numerous Meijer representatives and supervisors (using my cell phone minutes) they agreed to send it through expedited shipping as I had asked them to ... I ordered a Halloween costume from Meijer and just now received it. I know for a fact that it has been repackaged because I tried this costume on in a local store but was unable to buy it because it was a display. Also the fact the boarding that was used to fold the dress was packaging for a childrens costume. The hat had been replaced by one easily found at a dollar store, the gloves are from a childrens costume. They are all cheap and have already fallen apart. The only original part of the costume remaining is the dress. After reading the reviews of Meijer I braced myself before calling customer service and had a similar experience to others, being treated badly and not being given any answers. Overall I am highly disappointed and will never order from Meijer again

I ordered my daughters Ahsoka Star Wars costume from Meijer. I actually ordered the Deluxe version but received the regular one. I called Meijer CS to get this resolved as soon as it came in (last week). At that point there was no way to guarantee that I would get the costume in time for Halloween. The rep was extremely polite but could not help me. She forwarded me to the supervisor who she said could. I left a message with the supervisor Dan and asked him to call me back. I explained it was over a Halloween costume so the time was of the essence. I then called back for the next 4 days each time being told Dan was the only persona who could help me. After reach complete fustration my husband took over the task of trying to receive help from Meijer. He called repeatedly that same day and was repeated put through to Dan's voicemail. Dan finally called my husband back and was pretty rude and condescending. He basically called him a liar when he told my husband that there was no way... Read more

I really like shopping at meijer.com. Their prices are pretty good and their checkout is one of the easiest I've ever used. Never had a problem with products or deliveries but I like their free return policy if I didn't like something. They don't have meijer stores (my-er?) where I live but it looks like they are a pretty big chain in the mid-west and have been around since the 1930's so buying from them feels pretty safe. I also saw in another review that they are family owned, which seems remarkable in this day and age.

All in all, customer service was horrible, timely arrival of products was horrible/nonexistent, and I would never shop there again. Horrible, horrible store. I ordered a matching crib and changer from them on March 5. I called customer service on the 12th because my order showed that it still hadn't shipped and was told it normally took only 3-5 days to process and ship, but their computers are as far as 2 days behind, so it could have shipped, or it could not have shipped, I'd just have to wait and see. Called again on the 16th because order still showed it hadn't shipped and was told the same thing. I told the woman I was speaking to that I wanted to cancel my order because I didn't know if it would get to my home by the time I moved on the 28th if it still hadn't shipped yet. I was told she couldn't just cancel it because of the delay with the computers she didn't know if it had shipped, but she would put in a request to cancel through another department (no, she couldn't just call... I decided to attempt to order some furniture from Meijer.com, because the site was offering a promotion of $60 off $400. They did not list all the categories of exclusions on their website. I spent a couple of frustrating hours talking to customer service, who kept reading me what I could read myself on the website. Eventually, by trial and error, I found a combination of goods that worked. My order went through with the $60 coupon, but silly me, I didn't take a screen shot at the time. By the time I got a receipt e-mailed to me, the $60 discount was gone. I called up Meijer and they said I had never entered the code. Excuse me? I am returning the entire order.

Thumbs Down on Meijer!!!! Ordered a product from Meijer that arrived within a week of placing the order. It arrived in a retaped box with several parts missing and it looked like it had been used. Intersting enough if I look up the product on their website it says no longer available. I contacted Meijer immediatly about the problem and now over a week later and several phone calls later... I have yet to receive a merchandise RA#. Their customer service person said they were waiting for a response from their supplier. They even suggested I call their supplier to resolve the problem. I then informed the Meijer customer survice rep that I purchased the product from Meijer not a third party and it was their obligation to step up to the plate. The rep kind of giggled and then tried to pass me off to her bosses voice mail. Their customer service department is totally useless. The Supervisor will not come to the phone and does not return calls. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

unbelievably bad customer service from meijer.com! 1. meijer shipped by order to the billing address (not the same as the shipping address) 2. called to re-route and meijer customer service rep. refused to call UPS and change to correct SHIPPING ADDRESS, told me to "simply call UPS and re-route 3. called UPS and was informed it would be $4 to send to another address 4. had to call meijer again, rep. had me repeat what happened at least 3x; when she finally understood she said that it would take a week for her to inform the shipping staff 5. i had to call back again--UPS tried to re-deliver to the same billing address: evidence that no action was taken to correct meijers mistake. the rep. put me on hold for 10 minutes, came back on the line and said "its taken care of" as i type this, the package is on its way back to meijer for no apparent reason, i PAID THIS COMPANY TO SEND ME A PRODUCT AND THEY HAVE FAILED. i am going to get refund on my product, its not worth it anymore, ill... I think Meijer did a LOW BLOW on its consumers on Thanksgiving Day. They advertized the Wii Fit for half off its original price saying,"while supplies last." The thing they didn't mention was that they only had 10 per store, leaving plenty of shoppers without one. I want to know if they will have a sale like this on this product again befoe Christmas? Its already known how they treat their employees, will they respect their customers the same way?

My roommate and I shop at two different stores, he shops at Meijers and I shop at Aldi's. OK, I have to bring my reusable bags, and bag my own groceries, but the prices at Aldi are so much lower - I never pay more than $1.89 for any kind of cereal, and it is as good as or better than the name brands. They don't have the variety of items like Meijer does, but when you are on social security, I am just glad I can buy a large quantity of good, wholesome food. My roommate and I often compare prices on things like Creamer, or Milk, sour cream, etc. It's unbelievable to me that he would continue to pay double my prices in some instances (Milk $1.69 gallon, any kind) just because he is too lazy to bring bags and bag his own. I'm laughing all the way to the bank.

I really like Meijer.com. I've ordered quite a few products there and have consistently gotten good deals. Items have always arrived sooner than the website indicates. I feel comfortable ordering from them because you can just bring the item back to one of their stores if you don't like it. I believe they also have free return shipping but I have never tried it. The Meijer stores around my part of Michigan are really big, but always clean and uncluttered. Help is typical for one of the big box retailers although the employees always try to help you if you've managed to find one. Overall I rank Meijer at the top of my list for these types of stores.

OK.... where do I start. I have been an employee for Meijer for almost three years and to be completely honest I feel like I have wasted my time and energy on a company that could care less about me. I feel that the employees that actually make a difference get the short end of the stick. In my position at work, if my boss has the day off I am expected to do his job as well as my own. The store director actually came up to me and said, " since your boss is off today the email that I sent him the other day ( it was an email explaining that there were some tasks that needed to be completed for an inspection), is now your responsibility". I did what she asked me but was furious that I am actually doing a job that my boss should have already completed, for a lot less pay than what he receives. So, coming to find out, all those little tasks that i completed for my boss, was for a BACKROOM contest not an inspection. It was to make the store director look good. I was enraged that she would li... Read more

BUYER BEWARE Meijer.com doesn't not necessarily have inventory in stock or actually in their warehouse. They actually "broker" products from outside vendors. For example on the Wii Fit product that they claimed they had as in-stock is actually shipped and ordered from an outside vendor. What is troubling about this type of business model is they can not possibly keep control of their inventory. If you order something and their outside vendor does not quickly update its inventory it will take 6+ business days to find out your order is not going to happen. Meijer is supposed to stand for quality. This method of inventory and quality control is dangerous and quite shady. BUYER BEWARE! Meijer.com is not the same as walking into their store. I would strongly look elsewhere. Who knows what type of "grey-market" stuff can be sent.

The Meijer in Noblesville, Indiana is a nice big store and it does feel like you have to walk miles for something. However, the aisles never feel crowded. My problem is the deli area, they have a poor selection of deli meat. Most of it is their brand and I would like to find healthier, less processed brands there. I went there tonight and planned to get fried chicken (I know not healthy but dont't get too often) and they had maybe 4 dried looking pieces left. The two rotisserie chickens they had were also very dry looking. It was only 6 pm. and there was only one person working in the deli at the lunchmeat section and no one at the hot foods section. Several people got frustrated and left including me. I called the manager after I went to Marsh and he said they are supposed to have plenty of fresh chicken at least until 8 pm. Somebody is slacking.

Meijers has repeatedly tested my patience, when they first opened in our area (preston hwy, louisville ky) , I ejoyed shopping there. They matched ads , had double coupons and could write over the amount on checks. The matched ads stopped , coupons were limited to two not, just ones that were doubled(50cents and under)and checks could be written for only the amount (that has changed)..Last night I went to the store at nearly midnight to find ONLY SELF SERVE registers were open(and I had an over flowing cart) while 4 cashiers stood in front talking , after a few minutes of aggrivation and talking to the woman behind me who happened to be in a wheel chair and was also getting teed off by this, i asked for someone to get a manager to open a regular lane . I was told "they didn't open lanes at night"!!! I should have left the cart, ice cream and all and just walked out, but I didn't and as it was I still has to get one of the "stand around talking" cashiers to come help with my coupons.... it used to be a good store, but now instead of having someone check out your groceries for you, you have to stand in a long line while YOU check out YOUR OWN groceries and then bag them. it seems to me that they are getting rid of jobs and having the consumer do the work for them. win win for them. not only do they not have to pay an employee to do it, but i dont think that the prices of groceries is going down at all. people should start shopping at stores that offer a full line of service until meijer wakes up and realizes that its not just about how much money is to be made, but about quality, service, and american families that could depend on the jobs that the consumers are now doing. maybe all the money their making is going to go for the fines and lawyer fees in the pending acme store.

Meijer is OK..I guess..I have been to Michigan (where Meijer was founded) and their stores are significantly better than where I live. I do shop there more since they started doing unlimited double coupons, I assume to compete with Kroger (which is king grocer here). They tend to move their grocery items around a lot and I end up wasting time looking for what I need. They also do not have the selection Kroger has; also I prefer Kroger because I can get their store brand cheap and it tastes great. Meijer brand is TERRIBLE!!!!I do love though how they have the larger U-Scan lanes for unlimited items. Those are really nice!

Why would I give Meijer 1 star. Perhaps because I have been with/around the company for so long. I remember when Mejier was a family based family run company to what it has become today. I remember when Mejier had FAMILY picnic's arrange by store and warehouse employes.. usually one in each county. It was GREAT. Now.. if you work for the company they do everything they can to get every thing for nothing. They have gone from having a full grocery staff with at least 6 full time employes on the night shift.. to 4 full time and the rest part time. There was a time when you would find at least 10 people stocking night's in grocery, now your lucky if there are 7. When a person leaves the company they no longer replace them. Now let's talk about overtime practices. NOW if you are asked to work over time you have to say.. I don't want to stay, BUT if your saying you need me and I must then I will... or you don't recieve time and a half for the over time you work. Ti... Read more

I LOVE this store. As a vendor, I have to deliver product to all of the grocery stores in my area. These people are the most pleasant to deal with. I have even had their employees offer to help stock my product (managers included). They treat you like a human being which is much more that I can say for Wal-Mart. I HATE Wal-Mart and have even gone as far as to refuse gifts from people if it was purchased from there. It may be rude of me to do this but I cannot support a business that treats its employees like crap and expects their suppliers to bow down and kiss thier feet simply because they are the largest retailer in the U.S. You just don't get that at Meijer. As a shopper, Meijer's has great weekly specials and friendly, helpful workers. I feel at ease walking around the store and "browsing" for hours at a time. We Used to love Meijer, but recently quit shopping there for weekly groceries, because of poor selection of brand-names in lieu of their store generics. Also a new phenom. just started with sale merchandise. They are now putting up sale signs that say "UP TO" 50% off, etc. When I sorted through the rack, I found nothing even CLOSE to 50%. Another week...another change in placement of items in the store. When I get the chance to go shop at my local Meijer in Kettering, Ohio, I am on a limited time schedule and do not have time every week to find where things have been placed from week to week. While the employees are willing to help, I do not feel that that should be there job and I think that the managers need to find something better to do with their time and employees than to constantly move things around.

Meijer is the best grocery option on weekends (because Kroger doesn't start their sales ads in our area until the following Monday). KILLER sales on top-name items (especially Coca-Cola); stocking up is essential. After the food deals have knocked you out, sidle on over to the electronics department and check out the television sets and DVD players; their regular prices are usually better than Best Buy, Kmart, Walmart, etc. (be warned, however: their DVDs are ridiculously overpriced). They do a whopping business, and I'm glad to see 'em thriving in this part of the country.

Generally I find shopping at Meijer a very plesent and enjoyable experience. Product selection is good and inproving in the retail component of the store while the grocery component is second to none. Prices are competitive as well. Wrapping things up is customer service that is very good as compared to other big box stores. Team Members are friendly and helpful. If I had my choice between a Wal-Mart supercenter and a Meijer store, Meijer would be the first place I'd go to.

I'm a newer Columbus-area resident and was delighted to find Meijers. However, twice now I've been overcharged for things. I've had to go back into the store, wait in line at customer service, then wait while the clerk double-checked my truthfulness. Each time, the amount I was overcharged was in double-digits. Today, I bought a lot of Christmas gifts, all on sale at 40% off. One item - plaid flannel pajama bottoms - was sandwiched in between two racks of items on sale and this rack didn't qualify for the sales price (see comment below with respect to end-shelf pricing practices). I think this is deceptive pricing. Another item was on sale only in sizes 8 to 18, but the sign was so high up, the words sizes 8 to 18 so light and barely readable, that I could barely see it. Again, my size seven was mixed in with items qualifying for the sales price. And then, to make matters worse, a shirt which I was charged $23.99 for and was on sale for $12.99 got me a $9 refund, not an $11 refund. By ... Read more

I used to work there, they were OK with me. The prices are good. Sometimes, however, they engage in shaddy end-shelf pricing practices, meaning they would put high priced items next to sale priced items making it real easy to pick up the expensive product by accident thinking you got the sale priced item. Krogers does the same thing.

As far as department stores go, the quality of Meijers goes above and beyond places like Wal-Mart. Spotlessly clean and well-lit, it offers low prices on food, electronics and whatever else you need. Unlike other dept. stores, it has a wealth of helpful employees and you manage to shop there without pulling out your hair. This is a good store. I like the food selection and can find almost anything I need there. I went to Walmart looking for a tonneu cover for my truck and asked a person if they could find the one I needed in the back and was told no way. So after I complained and got thaqt rude employee in hot water I went to Mejier and asked the same question and the person went to the back and brought me out the one I needed and even helped me carry it outside. They have pretty good customer service.

Meijer has a great selection of food. They have one of the best grocery areas ever. They also have good clothes and toy selections. However, the electronics selection (at least, the Meijer in my area) has a poor selection.
