The McLaren F1 is the ultimate driveing machine. If you can't afford it don't make a negative judgement. I plan on buying one this year. Jack McGhee

This is a VERY fast car. But the Koenigsegg beat its top speed and soon other companys are too. Even though this car is freakin fast and it was the fastest car in the world until the Koenigsegg CCR came and beat it. This car is still killer!

this car is very nice..... it is a statement of class and it is overpriced but there is nothing that can beat the style of a maclaren f1

Inaccurate Speedometer, poor handling and braking. Michael Andretti could barely control it and remeber what he drives for a living. He hated the McLaren.

Alright I underestand both sides of this arguement It is the fastest street legal car, and while it may be beaten in shorter races it does kill in the longer events, this is countered by the fact that it costs far too much and will break down far too often and the repairs will be expensive. But for all intents and purposes this car isn't just a car but it is a statement, basically it says i can afford this vehicle or in other words I'm better than you are because i am rich

straight up one of the best cars ever built. right now it is the fastest car in the world, but Bugatti just came out with the Veyron, and its supposed to beat the F1 by about 25 mph. its also got 1001 Hp (the Veyron), so McClaren is going to have to kick it into high gear in order keep up. even if Bugatti does beat the F1, McClaren will always be known for having one of the fastest, and coolest cars in its name.

Ok guys, I have to admit the McLaren F1 is sweet, anyone else trying to convince you of otherwise is selling something. It has become over-rated though, fact. Are we all forgetting LeMans? The McLaren got it's freakin butt handed to it time and time again. And do I even need to remind you that there are prowling road versions of the cars that whiiped the McLaren raoming the streets of Europe as we speak? Deadly 1 million dollar weapons such as the Nissan R-390 and the Toyota TA030(GT1). These cars, remaining road versions, have been proven to absolutely demolish the McLaren's 0-60, 1/4 mile, and top speed times, not to mention their ability to handle. While I admit though of having endless wet dreams about the R-390, I'm just as broke as the rest of you and have to work with the "realistic" road cars, mine being Nissan 300's. I'm all for beating 1 million dollar cars for hundreds of thousands less though. Here's to Japanese tuninig!

I have done a lot of research on this car. I love everything about it. The only two draw backs to the car is that they don't make them anymore and they are so expensive. Sure, you could build a car with more horse power, but it still wouldn't touch what a McLaren is.

I'm gonna go with the cynics on this one. Don't get me wrong, I am impressed to no end with what this car can do when I look at its stock specs, ie. weight, horsepower, etc. But seriously, while it may outperform just about everything else on the road, is it really worth 1-1.5 million? That just seems to me to be nothing more than a serious "F*ck you" to the world, because they know it's rape, and yet there are still a few people who are willing to buy these. I'd love to have one of these, but I'll NEVER pay anything near one million dollars for ANY car when I could get a TVR Speed 12 for $245,000, a TVR Cerbera 4.5 for a hair over $100,000, or even a Nissan Skyline GT-R for $100,000. The F1 may be better than these cars in some respects, but not so much that it's price should outdo theirs by a factor of 10!!! I guess a good is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. I'm just not one of those people. And I'm rather intrigued by Celica_TRD's comments about racing in Japan. If ... Read more

For God's sake!! This subject is touchy, but I have sympathy with both sides of the argument. Is it a good car? Yes, it is. That it was designed in the early 90s, and it is still the fastest road car in the world a decade on makes this car a wonderful piece of machinery & technology, but that every person on here (I could be bothered to read at least) who thinks this is a good car relies too heavily on the speed it can reach. As for 'curv4733om' and his 250+ estimate, he's obviously got too carried-away. Also, 'Sac68', although you have a point that those who criticise the car may have no idea about anything more than the look of the thing, to suggest that it weighs similar to that of the Civic CRX is exaggerating a little. Couple of vital hundred kilos over the Honda. The price is ridiculous, but it wasn't intended to make a profit, otherwise more than 100 would've been built. It was intended to be a performance car, which would enlarge the profile of Mercedes, McLaren & even BMW to s... Read more

THE FASTEST CAR ON THE LIST IS RATED AT NUMBER 31? WHAT CRITERIA DO YOU IDIOTS USE FOR RATING CARS ON HERE!? THE MCLAREN F1 SHOULD BE NUMBER 1 ON HERE....

Although disgustingly expensive, this car is absolutely unbeatable performance wise. How would you like to drive a car that weighs about as much as a Civic CRX and has 620hp? Thats what I thought! This car has almost perfect balance. Did you know that driver sits in the center of the front seat to further increase balance and feel? No, because those who have chosen to bash this car simply have never even seen one, or they would't attempt to bring it down, they'd be struck by its exemplary performance and good looks.

The Mclaren F1 is the best production car ever made. You people cannot step to that. I noticed two morons that rated this car a 1... to them... you obviously know nothing about cars. Especially the 2nd comment, the Mclaren was not made for 1/4 mile races idiot. Ever seen Le Mans racing? I cannot believe the stupidity of people like you in the world.

Swarzkopf... your dream car? This car is ugly. It looks cool, don't get me wrong, but it's not the best looking car by any means. The best looking car in the world is and always will be (possibly) the mkiv toyota Supra. The Supra is faster than a McLaren. Not stock, but who cares? If you are paying 1 million bucks for a mclaren, who cares what is stock or not? You pay a million for your car, I get to spend a million on my Supra. If I spent a million on my Supra, I'd have the best looking car in the world, and it would go 0-60 in two seconds, top speed of 300 mph, and it would fly. And I'd still have money left over to buy a house by the beach. Unless a million bucks is absolute sofa change for you, you are a moron to buy this ugly, slow car. The McLaren only goes 11 seconds in the quarter mile! People are regularly getting their Supras in the 10's. Anyway, my rating is 1. For what it is, every aspect of this car deserves a 5. Except value. It's value is such a pile of stinking cr... Read more

Its too expensive, its ugly, and chances are, with its compression ratio, it wont last more than 50,000 miles without needing a new engine, or transmission....those would only cost...oh, $100,000 USD...and its top speed is 233, for the person who said its well over 250. just like lambroghini and ferarri, if McLAren knew that you were going to drive an F1 more than 50 miles a year...they wouldnt sell you one. whats the point of owning a million dollar machine if you can't drive it?

THIS IS THE FASTEST PRODUCTION CAR EVER MADE!! How can you morons have rated this car so low? Its the fastest car in every category. Not to mention it comes loaded with luxory options and looks like a piece of artwork. My dream car.

If anyone thinks there is a STOCK PRODUCTION VEHICLE faster than the McLaren F1 They are sadly mistaken. With a Mph of well over 250, there isn't a car that can touch it.
