My apartment was nice, clean, and well-maintained. Luckily I've only had to deal with their offices a few times because they have a POOR ATTITUDE. The lady I've talked to was very rude each and every time.

I had no problem getting the apartment. Once I was there I was calling asking something and they where VERY rude. I had to call many times for different problems and they never provided any help. At the end I did not want to call them again. I'm very happy that I left and I do not have to deal with them anymore. I do not recommend Mautner Glick at all

My Mautner Glick apartment was a nice apartment but wait until you have a problem.... They are really really rude people. It is funny how they are all rude, from the secretary to the supervisors... It is a bad experience to call them because they will give you attitude bc you called. Also it took me 3 months to get my deposit back...

Over the course of 5 years I lived in three different Mautner Glick apartments and had amazing experiences in them all. Now that I am moving out I felt a little nostalgic and googled Mautner and Glick and was shocked to see these bad reviews. I can say with 100% certainty that in three apartment in three buildings in three areas over 5 years I have always had the best experiences.

This has got to be by far the worst...most terrible management company in the world. Aside from the staff being super rude when you call to complain about their properties, which are all falling apart. Full of insects, leaks in the roof, old appliances, faulty plumbing, etc! They take care of your apartment issues in a very delayed manner. Try to always make it seem that it is your fault things are falling apart. Overall i don't recommended any properties managed by them. They are terrible!!!

This may be the worse "management" company I have ever dealt with. Words can not describe both their arrogance and incompetence. They do everything in their power to avoid fixing problems in their buildings, and they never call back. The thick security windows that surround the receptionist should clue you in, these people are not well liked and for good reason. I would never rent an apartment that they are in any way responsible for, and urge anyone to think twice before having anything to do with them at all. You may have more success bartering with the mob. Just to reiterate, stay away, you have been warned.

They have horrible service. They say they will make repairs but don't. Then get nasty when you follow up to find out when. One of the agents - Jezebel - is very aptly named in my opinion. I find her completely rude and obnoxious and evil to deal with--that is, when she bothers to return phone calls, which is maybe 1 in 5. I have been calling about a problem that is making my apt. unlivable - have been calling for months! I just don't get this - I am paying them to live there! And my rent is really high.

Staff is rude, nobody ever calls back. When I asked to have my apartment painted (after 5 years of living there) I had to pay for all the materials and the super charged me 500 Dollars for the job. He needs 3 days notice before showing up for any problem and his repairs never last long. We have rodents in our building, nothing is done about it. When I had water coming into my apartment, I left 3 messages - no reply. I finally walked over to their office and the manager had just arrived (at 12.30 p.m.) and was having breakfast. He had not even listened to his messages even though I told the receptionist that my place was flooded. My guess is you cannot work at Mautner unless you are lazy, stupid and rude.

I lived in 2 diff Mautner Glick apartments for 5 years. The first was great, super was great, and I never had a reason to call the management co. 2nd apt. was also great, but super was lazy & wasn't able to do much of anything, because of that our apt. flooded 4 times in 2.5 years due to poor maintience in the building. Only once did I get an apology, and no compensation. Now it has been over 2 months since I turned my keys in and I cannot get a timeframe to get my security returned. Apt. was left in great condition, cleaned, swept, etc. All I am told is "they haven't received it from the bank yet". This is after I had called numerous times, left many messages, and was treated rudely and hung up on. Basically the apts. are nice and in good locations, but it you ever need to get something repaired or have a problem good luck!!!!

I completely agree with the previous posting regarding the name tag on the buzzer/mailbox! I mean, c'mon, what is so damn hard about printing out a name on a little black strip?? Its a handheld machine and it takes 30 seconds..IF THAT!!! I haven't been in my apartment as long as the person below but it should be the first thing that is done when someone SIGNS A LEASE, HANDS OVER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND RECEIVES KEYS!!!!! WAKE UP MAUTNER GLICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called to ask them why it hasn't been changed and they said because "they take vacation in July." Hmm..the little hand held machine takes its own personal vacation for the entire month of July? Wow, lucky machine, I'm in the wrong occupation!!!! Do they really think people are THAT DUMB???!!!!!!

I have been living in a Mautner Glick apartment for more than 3 years now, the apartment is in a nice location and in good condition in the Upper East Side. (that?s the good part) The problem is that this management company doesn?t have a customer service, nor wouldn?t care at all about your needs or your questions, or anything at all which is not rent payment. - They will NEVER return your calls - no matter how many times you call. If you would need a reference letter for your next management company - you will be lucky if you get to speak with any one at all. - I left 5 messages for 3 different people - no one ever called back, when i asked the receptionist what to do, she started screaming at me ?it?s not her fault they don?t return calls? When a VERY noisy neighbor moved to the apartment next to me, doing late night party?s (3am) every weekend, I called again and left messages - again, no one ever got back to me. They have the worst customer service in the world. *** My best ... Read more

I have just rented an apartment from Mautner and Glick, and they forced me to move up the move-in date, but when I moved in, the apartment was not ready. A sliding glass door to the fire escape WOULD NOT CLOSE, leaving my apartment open to the world, and they took 12 DAYS to fix it! The landlord forced it shut and then it would not open, making the apartment a fire hazard with no way out! It is now 20 days in and I still do not have a proper refrigerator, outlets that work properly, or even face plates for those outlets. I have called repeatedly and no one returns my calls (not Peter Camellieri, not Jezebel his assistant, and the secretary Jennifer has been unbelievably rude (with what I feel are polite requests to be transferred to their extensions). She obviously has had to field a lot of angry calls! I am on the verge of getting the City involved.

I agree with the last two posts. My apartment on the upper east side was FULL of rodents. My food was continuously chewed into, and they did nothing about it. I had to put it in writing that I would contact the proper authorities before they would even send over an exterminator (who sprayed for about 2 seconds). STAY AWAY. They also do not fix things even when you repeatedly ask. I had a horrible experience and would never rent from them again.

Stay away! Mautner-Glick bills themselves as an "exclusive" management company, but they run their business like slumlords. I assume their motto is "pay up and shut up." Their superintendent is one of the worst I have encountered. I spent 2 years trying to get him to put my name on the buzzer without success. My light fixtures died and he said it wasn't his problem. And he once personally accused me of urinating in my garbage before putting it out by the curb. (I guess "rainwater" is a foreign concept to him). The apartments are small for what you end up paying, and be warned: your rent WILL go up $100 a year. Bottom line, if you want to pay too much for an apartment and not get a whole lot of anything in return, Mautner-Glick is for you.

The buildings are all clean, safe , and well taken care of. They're usually 100 below par value as well on rent.

I completely second the previous review given to this "Management Company" Completely and utterly unresponsive and uncaring. Absolutely nothing but bad experiences from DAY 1. Truly far too many to recount in this review.

slumlords. our very expensive apartment was completely mouse-infested, and mautner glick did nothing to solve the problem. the staff is unbelievably rude, and the superintendent the company hired was a sleazy alcoholic who made kissing noises whenever I walked by him and spoke maybe three words of English. he also never fixed basic problems, such as toilets not functioning. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!
