Mattress King

This was my first mattress purchasing experience. But I would find it hard to believe there are much better stores to walk into. It had the small "mom and pop" feel but I would say I got a deal comparable to one that I'd find at a wholesale store. The saleswoman seemed very knowledgeable and helpful w/o being pushy. She pretty much offered all the discounts she could without me having to haggle. I picked up my mattress a couple days later w/o a hitch. I'm really enjoying the mattress, sleeping on it has been wonderful.

All I can say is WOW!!! I just moved to LA from New York and needed to get a mattress right away. I shopped around all day for the best deal on a high quality queen mattress set and was so disappointed with the ultra high prices and poor, rude, and unhelpful sales people from other mattress stores. I stumbled upon Mattress King on my way back to the apartment and I am sure glad I did, because they had the best prices for the higher quality that I was looking for. The sales lady, Penny, was such a delight and super knowledgable. She seemed to really care about finding the right mattress for me, since I have lower back pain and pinched nerves in my upper back. I was able to get a mattress that is in high end hotels for half the price in comparison to other places I looked at all day. OK. This is no BS. I was just in a store in Santa Monica and was so turned off by the whole mattress buying experience that I went home to find this place that I bought from when I moved here in fall '09. Found it on Citysearch- knew it by the video-recognized the manager and the 'Primo' brand. In my first experience, I was driving by, went in 5 mins. before closing and said I didn't have a lot of money to spend but needed somethingAnyway, needless to say, I am going back today for a full size for my daughter. I dont want to waste time haggling at a bunch of places. I believe when you find something good, you go back, and I would recommend anyone check this place out

My shopping experience was fine -- the saleswoman was pleasant to deal with and the prices seem good. However, I was delivered a bed that (i) wobbled like crazy and (ii) collapses on the edges when you sit or lie on either edge of the mattress. So far, I have managed to get Mattress King to deliver a new bed frame, but am still waiting for them to replace the mattress. They also seemed skeptical of my complaints when I called them, which is sort of disturbing. *They* are the ones who should be on the defensive, for failing to deliver half-decent merchandise. I expect that they will eventually, but this is a pretty sad way to have to get an acceptable product.

I LOVE MATTRESS KING! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING ANYWHERE ELSE! Seriously folks, they have the absolute best serve you can image, and the price can not be beat. The owner is an absolute Mattress God and his staff are equally as cool and just downright genuine. They even kept the store open late just for me! The best prices and best service in LA, hands down. I had gone to a few other places in the area where the salesman seemed shady and were rude. This was the last place that I went to and I'm really glad I did. They were really nice and seemed to genuinely care and gave me a great deal.

I have never met anyone so passionate about mattresses in my life! Joel, the owner was extremely knowledgeable and walked me through the best options for me, based on my sleeping patterns. He was very patient and thorough in explaining all the mattress benefits and gave me an excellent price that was 40% below what I had budgeted to spend based on comparison shopping. I'm sure I got a great deal on a mattress, but I'm pissed at myself for letting myself fall prey to the oldest of sales tricks and ploys and getting a much pricier mattress than I needed or wanted. Less salesmanship might have netted a smaller sale, but would definitely have left a happier and more appreciative customer. Every morning I'm going to wake up and ask myself if that 30 cents worth of sleep was really any better than 20 cents would have bought me. Ugh. Lesson learned I guess.

We happened in when the owner, or the mattress king as we like to call him was there. I wasn't planning on buying a mattress that day, but they made me such an amazing deal I couldn't say no. I thought my budget would be way too low, but they were able to find something great in my price range. Also I have never met a better salesperson in any business, so watching the mattress king was was like being at a broadway show. I would go back just to watch him work! Great place for students!

I recently went into Mattress King to redeem my 50% off coupon. I expected a run-around and 'this only applies to that mattress', but much to the contrary the 50% off coupon applied to everything in the store! I spent well over an hour with Joel (the owner) letting him know my sleeps habits while he guided me through various options that fit my price range. How many stores do you go into now where the owner personally attends to you? After the third mattress I was sold, but he wanted me to try more to ensure that I found the right fit for me. In the end I purchased the same mattress they use in the Hilton Hotel, which I highly recommend. To round the experience, the delivery guys were really nice and even took out my old mattress and frame for free!

My husband and I recently purchased our first home and with that came the need to finally upgrade our mattress. mattress king is the only place i will buy a mattress. really great people and the best selection of incredible mattresses. you cant go wrong. just purchased my second mattress from them and i couldn't be happier. ive also recommended mattress king to a few friends who have had similarly great results. plus i love the family owned thing, so much better than a mega chain.

I'm really surprised at the last review because my experience and all the people I've sent there have been extremely positive. All the sales people there take a personal interest and really take their time to get to know your needs and give you all the different options. They don't rush you or pressure you into choosing one mattress over the other and they have a ton of options. I love my bed and I got exactly what I wanted and so has everyone else who I've sent there. And you can't beat the 50% off either.

Bed was much too soft...softer than we thought at the store. Couldnt return the bed and stuck with a bed that gives me a bad back.

The "Mattress King" is definitely called the "Mattress King" for a reason! The owner, Mr. Joel Lipshin, just gave my current roommate, future apartment mate, and myself an AWESOME deal on 3 QUEEN size viscoelastic pillowtop mattresses complete w/ head boards, custom made box springs, discount on delivery/installation,and threw in matching pricy super soft pillows on top of that! Joel wants you to find the PERFECT bed for your budget (we're college aged girls so we were definitely on a budget) and your comfort and encourages you to try out the beds in his store to see how it feels. My neighbor recommended the mattress king 9 months ago. We finally decided to go in and check them out. We were welcomed by Danny who was very informative about all of his products. We walked out of there with a king size memory foam sleeping cloud at an excellent price, two free memory foam pillows, and we picked it up ourselves, we couldn't wait!!! I have a bed! I'm so glad beause I don't have a car, I'm of course new in town, and setting up a place and everything can be so hectic. I'm glad I stopped in here, it's hard to find a good mattress at a good price. You think you can sleep on any old thing, and you can't afford something good, but I went here and they helped me find what I like within my budget. My fiance and I went to pico blvd. to several mattress stores that are in that area and shopped around. We walked into the Mattress King and received a very warm welcome by the salesman named Danny. We layed on many different mattresses until we found our fit. This place was wonderful we got the best price we could have ever hoped for, for such a quality mattress. They delivered the mattress that day. Much better deal then we found anywhere else and great customer service. If you are looking for a mattress in the Los Angeles area this is the place bar none. I WANT TO THANK MATTRESS KING FOR ALLOWING ME TO PAY OFF MY LAYAWAY IN TIME! I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WITH MATTRESS KING HERE IN ATLANTA. I HAD PANIC THOUGH AT ONE TIME, BECAUSE WHEN I WENT TO PAY MORE MONEY ON MY LAY AWAY THE STORE HAD MOVED AND I WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE NEW LOCATION. I ONLY WISHED THEY HAD NOTIFIED ME ABOUT THEIR MOVING TO ANOTHER LOCATION. I HAD ALREADY PUT DOWN A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY ON MY PURCHASE AND WAS ALMOST READY TO PAY IT OFF.

I found this store through the Citysearch website and stopped in on Monday to check them out...I am very impressed! Not only do they have a wide variety of mattresses or "comfort levels" as the salesgirl pointed out, but I was able to get the mattress I purchased delivered the same day! They give 50% off to students and when I shopped around to compare prices (there's five other stores on the same block) the lowest price I found was $200 more expensive than the price she quoted me...I just started UCLA so that was a big help. I ended up getting a pillowtop mattress, box, and frame delivered the same night for about $50 less than what I was expecting to spend. I booked a late delivery time (7-10pm) and they arrived towards the end of the window (9:30pm) but the guys set everything up pretty fast. This was a very big stress reliever for me since I had so many things to worry about buying for my apartment and couldn't afford to spend $1000 on a decent mattress...I recommend that anyone el... Despite their multiple promises to have my mattress delivered by a certain date and time, I spent one night waiting from 6 to 9 (the scheduled time) and continued waiting until I gave up. They delivered the mattress at 1:30 in the morning. It was a loaner mattress, because they didn't have the one that I ordered, and the wrong size for my bed frame. Now, as I am writing this review, I am waiting once again for the mattress that I actually ordered; it is currently 11:50 and the mattress was scheduled to arrive from 7-10PM. I have called several times and each time, the person on the phone has told me that the driver will arrive in 15 min. The first call that promised a 15 min. wait time was more than an hour and a half ago. If you choose to have your mattress delivered, expect to wait several hours past the scheduled delivery time.

I had a great experience with mattress king. My husband and I are on a tight budget, and the salesman there offered to waive the delivery fee as well as the tax on the mattress. We're moving into a brand new apartment with wood floors, and since the mattress can't be at our place for a few days, they sent me home with a temporary mattress. The service was great and the people were very friendly and easy to work with.

Really top of the line mattresses for very low prices. Even their cheapest mattress (less than $200) was more comfortable than some of the more expensive mattresses from other stores (over $400). We went to at least 3 other stores just to make sure we were getting the best deal, and we certainly were with the mattress king. We got the cheaper memory foam mattresses in August, and we LOVE them!!! When we go away on vacation, we can't wait to get back to our beds! Highly recommended for a good deal and a great mattress, and always a comfortable night's sleep.

i've enjoyed my years of rest on my queen size englander, that i have replaced my child's mattress with one of mattress king's. looking forward to years of more comfort.

they had a good selection to choose from. according to the owner he owns the building also so that may be a good thing. but they just try to pressure u to much into buying a bed. then when i was about to leave, he starts asking me why? i tell him i'm going across the street and he starts downplaying his competitors beds. that to me wasn't cool. i went to there competitor Mattress 4 Less and they provided great service with a great selection and no pressure to buy.

This place is great. Very friendly service. I felt like it was too good to be true so when I got home, I looked up the mattress and bed I ordered and found that I saved over $300. No need to go anywhere else. This place was great.
