Tue Aug 16 2011I've shopped at Marshalls for as long as I can remember. I would have recommended it to everyone. Until a week ago. I purchased a Dooney & Bourke tote for my daughter(for her books). She didnt like it because it didn't zip but snapped. A couple days later I tried to return it to the Mcdonough Ga store where I got it. It had the same tags on it as when I purchased it and I had the original receipt which showed the $139.99 price I paid for it.Manager, Jack said they wouldn't take it back because "it scanned B Makowsky and the bag was D&B". At first I had no clue as to why that would be or what it had to do with me, since I bought the bag I didn't make it. Well now I know they sold me a counterfeit "designer" bag, then refused to take it back because it was counterfeit. I am out $140 and I have absolutely no use for a fake bag.I will NEVER shop at a TJX store ever again (Marshalls, Ross, TJMaxx or Home Goods). I'm sure this is possible at other stores however since this happened to me I'v... Read more

Wed Jul 14 2010In the past I have always enjoyed gleaning the clearance racks at St. Louis Marshall's stores. The clearance merchandise is generally pretty spooky but there is an occasional surprise. I estimate my closet couturiere to be about 50% Marshall's gathered over the years. I recently had a very bad experience with a swim suit purchase made the end of April. I went shopping before they got picked over & since my reflection in the telephone-booth dressing rooms is too traumatic, I took home about 6 or 7 suits from various Marshalls over a couple of weeks. I ended up keeping 3 of these suits priced at $19.99 or $24.99, my kind of price. Being in a year round water aerobics class (followed by 1/2 hr. swimming laps) I like to have extra suits on hand as they are not easy to find in the winter. Being CHEAP I always check out Marshall's first. So after my old suit was threadbare (about late May) I started wearing #1 suit. This one, albeit ugly, seemed very substantial & sturdy for lap-sw... Mon Jun 21 2010The worst customer service in the area! As a customer of this store since it opened 15+ years ago, I have seen Marshall's go from a pleasant friendly shopping experience to a desire to avoid this store at all costs. Marshall's #548, managed by the surly Blake, has decided that the best way to treat customers is that they are untrustworthy and will steal in a minutes notice. I purchased several hundred dollars of merchandise a few weeks ago, including a collection of new towels. In paying for my items, I asked the price of two towels that were not tagged. I explained that they had been in the clearance section but did not have tags. I also explained that I look for them in the new merchandise section and there were none there. I simply wanted to know the price! The female supervisor stated in no uncertain terms that she knew the price of every item in the store and that they were not on clearance. I did not wait for her to figure out the price as she was very nasty. Stopping in the next... Read more

Tue Mar 23 2010I have had a very good experience in this Marshalls . It has a great variety in merchandise. Also, it is very organized. There is always someone to assist you, and the managers are working on the floor. that is unusual, but is appreciated in my experience . The cashiers are very friendly and the lines are short. I would recommend this Marshalls to all my friends

Sun Dec 13 2009the marshalls in downtown crossing in Boston, Ma is by far one of the best i've been too. It is very clean, organized, and has alot of varieties. There are always people ready to assist you. There are alot of managers available for any problems or situations. i would rate this store 4 stars!

Thu Nov 26 2009The store I used to shop at seemed to encourage people to buy something, wear it, than return it. I personally have not done this, but I swear, every time I used to go in this certain Marshalls, there would be the same five people in the return line on a Sunday, returning things. Some stuff on the racks had stains and snags, like people wore it than returned it. I used to wonder if the items I bought were new or preworn. The cashiers looked jittery because there were fifty people in line and ONLY two of them. Once I went in there, and there was only ONE cashier and 34 people in line. It was pathetic. I felt so bad that I never went back in there again. Slave labor was outlawed years ago. The place is always a mess and nobody is ever on the floor. I pity the employees that work here. Hopefully, it's different at other Marshalls.

Thu Sep 08 2005In the Auburn Marshalls (Supermall store) The manager Mike Corby, is the most unprofessional person I've ever seen. In one incident, one of the eployees appeared to be following store code, and I believe that she was attemping to let a customer now that they could not leave the fitting rooms with unpurchased clothing while the customer was wearing them. the customer and the customers friend became hostile and then began to yell profanitys at the marshalls eployee she stayed calm, but I remember she had a look of fear in her eyes, She did do the right thing and call managment, this is when I realized the massacre the call management came to save the day mean- while these customers still harassing her, management (mike Coby) approched them hearing the confrontation, look at the employee and then turned to the customers and said what do you want me to do about it nothing i can do about it . At that, I stopped shopping and left the store. I will never return to that store .

Mon Apr 18 2005This store SOMETIMES has what I am looking for, but everything there is a mess. I like their clothes but it is almost impossible to find something in a specific size. You have to search through tons of clothes to find anything.
