Mon Dec 14 2009My primary MD, doctor Gilwa is excellent. Most of the doctors I have seen at Manhattan a great, but the GYN who is a female is not good. She over books and is very rough and is very rude.

Thu Nov 05 2009This place is made only for business, making money.Waiting with hours to be seen for not more than 5 min.The doctor doesn't ask you anything......It prescribes you antibiotics without even care what medication you taking at the moment. They are really rude. They have to be reported......

Thu Jun 25 2009I have been a patient at this office for 21 years. I have seen a wide array of doctors, from a pediatrician to internist, from dermatologist to ENT, from general surgeon to allergist. It amazes me how other people are writing negative reviews about this practice. Not only do I think this practice gets an A+, I have never seen patients who were overly disgruntled or treated badly. The staff is kind and friendly. Also, the doctors are extremely smart and take great care of you. Sometimes, the wait time is a bit long. However, the care and attention is top notch. I would rather spend some time waiting and then see a great doctor, rather than be seen right away and not get the time and care that I deserve. I have trusted my medical care to this practice for over two decades, and I will contunue to do the same for years to come.

Tue Apr 28 2009I have gone to Manhattan Medical and have seen more than one dr. Every single time they overbook and I end up waiting for AT LEAST two hours. This is especially true in the case of Dr. Gliva. As if this is not bad enough, one time they actually took a walk in patient before me. The entire staff is rude. The receptionists are incompetent if you call with a follow up question for the dr. Even Dr. Gliva herself, will not even acknowledge your presence in the waiting room when you clearly have been waiting for over an hour (not even a smile of hello) as she walks past you getting tea... I heard my name called and walked into a room...I became confused when there were three nurses speaking Polish and none of them acknowledged my presence so I walked back into the waiting room. The nurse yelled at me to come back as though I should just wait there and listen to them speak. I also on another note, noticed that its is VERY EVIDENT that if you are not Polish, you are just not treated the same ... Read more

Wed Feb 18 2009I live around the corner from Manhattan Medical. I like to go there when I am not feeling well because it is close, but also because they usually get me in same day. If you make an appointment, the wait is usually not longer than 15 minutes to a half hour, even when it is busy. I only have experience with one doctor (Kudej) but she is always very calming, nice, and professional.

Thu Jun 19 2008I don't normally write reviews for stuff like this, but I felt compelled to do so this time, since they had a really bad rating, and I think it's not fair. Some of the other reviewers seem to be looking for conversation and friendship from the doctor. I went there today (Friday afternoon) and the doctor saw me about 45 minutes after my appointment time. Yes, it was a quick in and out, but having suffered for a week with a blocked ear, and having no health insurance, it was great to walk out of there with my hearing restored, and with only $100 taken out of my wallet. I guess I could have had 10 minutes instead of 5, and a nice chat with a doctor for only $300 if I'd stayed in Manhattan, instead of going to Manhattan Ave., Greenpoint.

Thu Jun 12 2008The doctor's do not give you individual attention. You will wait in the waiting area for 1-2 hours. You will be lucky if you get five minutes of the doctor's time when they finally do get to you. You feel like you are in an assembly line. Get them in and get them out. The receptionst who I dealt with on the phone regarding a follow up was uncooperative and rude. Poor in every way.

Mon Mar 03 2008The wait is long - ALWAYS. The doctors try to see as many patients as possible and they usually show up late, hence the delays. They're trying to run a business, not a medical clinic. The nurses are rude and obnoxious. The doctors don't really know what they're doing - I've gotten sinus issues diagnosed as allergies, a bacterial infection as yeast infection. One doctor didn't have the time in the increadibly short visit to check my wiehgt, temperature, pressure or to ask if I was taking any medication before prescribing antibiotics. My boyfriend went in to have a sonogram done for which he needed a full bladder. he was told to drink water at 10am. His appt was at 11am. By 12pm he couldn't take it anymore, so he left. The doctor was delayed cause 1. he showed up late and 2. he walking around the clinic trying to find a nurse to sit in with him while he examined a female patient (as is the law). Mind you the place is crawling with female nurses. This place is the worst ! ! ! I... Read more

Wed Jan 16 2008If you can, go to another doctor's office!!! I hesitate to give this Medical Practice such a bad rating because the doctors I have seen there have mostly been warm, helpful and skilled. However, every time I have ever been there I have had to wait over two hours just to see a doctor. When you do actually see a doctor, your visit is very rushed. I don't think this is the doctor's fault - it is the fault of the office management who insist on overbooking all the doctors in their practice. In addition, this office is in a Polish neighborhood and almost all the staff are Polish or Polish speaking. I have watched the staff be warm, smiling and helpful to Polish speakers and very rude (to the point of hostility) to patients of other nationalities. When I moved out of the neighborhood, I transferred to other doctors. I don't want to deal with this office ever again.

Mon Nov 19 2007Warning!!! Extremely slow service, too many customers, wait time is ridiculously long. I spend 1.5 hour waiting for Dr. Gliva and decide to go back home before seeing her. I strongly believe that owners of this medical center are overbooking all doctors in order to make better profits. (I wonder how medical insurance companies see these practices) Last week I try visit dermatologist and had same problem. If you like to waste time in waiting room and read old newspapers go ahead and make an appointment. But if you are smart please take your sickness somewhere ales and get help before you really get sick. IN POLISH: Kolejki, kolejki I wieczne czekanie na doktora. Tydzien wczesniej mialem ten sam problem. W dalszym ciagu nie uzyskałem pomocy i posta... Read more
