The rating on this item is inaccurate. Many are giving a low rating of 1 or 2 stars because they realize that putting "Males wearing no shirts outside" under "Unexplainable things" is foolish. Others are giving a low rating because they dislike males wearing no shirts outside. Given that I (of course!) have the right take on it, and what we are actually rating is men's shirtlessness outdoors, I've counted up what happens if the several 1's that are favorable to the practice are reversed to 5's and the 2's to 3's: There are then exactly 30 more stars for 30 ratings, giving an average of 3.3 rather than 2.3 up to this point. It might be a little higher if one or more of the four who rated without reviewing were also confused. I am mildly encouraged by this mildly favorable actual rating P.S. Any guy who has shirtlessness issues--and any guy self-confident enough NOT to have any issues about going shirtless!--should consider joining http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Shirtless_Lifestyle/.

What's so unexplainable about this? Who cares? If guys don't wear shirts outside, it's their prerogative. ... I used to do that. Not anymore because I'm tired of younger girls (mostly teenagers) whistling at me just because I wanna get something out of my car.

Have you ever watched Cops on the Fox channel? It seems at least half the men who get arrested are shirtless. I wonder what it is about criminals and their predilection for running around topless.

Welll, now this depends on a few things; namely - weather, location and physical fitness. Hot day, hot beach, hot bod - no objection here. Work day, work space, tie no shirt - funny, but not a great look.

Big deal. Some people don't wear shirts to determine teams in street basketball. Others have a lesser tolerance for heat than others. And i like to go swimming shirtless. That's definately explainable. What i think is unexplainable is why classic tv fan is such a straightedge.

When I was young and in good shape, I would occassionally go without a shirt, on a hot day. But there is a time and place for that, I wouldn't walk into a store or go to church that way. You wouldn't catch me doing that now. What's just as bad is women with bulging stomachs and deep stretch marks wearing tight midriff tank tops, as if they were young teens. That's hard to deal with. What ever happened to common sense?

Nothing wrong with a shirtless guy.. it is nice to look at, plus, you feel good with the breeze blowing against your chest !

To say guys shouldn't go without a shirt because women can't is absurd. Women can wear open mid-drifts, sleeveless blouses, very short shorts, mini-shirts but if a guy showed that much skin in places they do...we'd get thrown out or arrested. A shirtless guy is very acceptable outside and at some locations so they should be allowed to do so. I will.

Hey, if they choose to do it, it's fine with me. As long as they're under the age of 18 and not extremely ugly, I'm good.

Here's a possible explanation: it can get hot out there. Anyone spent a summer in the Northeast?

Speaking as a man, I think men should not be shirtless, because women are not allowed to be.

The only unexplainable thing about this is why men can do it yet women will be arrested for indecent exposure.

What is so unexplainable about this? Some guys just want to show their six packs..or their hairy chests! It is fun and I love watching ! I hope they never stop doing this. If you have it, flaunt it ! And if you DON'T have it..who cares? There is at least ONE good quality in every man out there...men are awesome creatures and I know I couldn't live without them...

If a man is shirtless in his backyard, it's usually because he's worked up a sweat doing yardwork. I don't have a problem with that. And like Kolby said, if a guy is really built, I definitely don't have a problem with it.

. . . what's there to explain? It's hot, so guys take off their shirts, it happens. Now, if it were COLD outside, maybe I can understand where it would be unexplainable . . .

What is the point of this? Are they so lazy that they can't bother to even put a simple tee-shirt on? I think this shows a lack of self-respect, and thus, a lack of respect for others. Its alright if you're at a beach, but in a backyard, come on!

I live in Miami where it's really hot most of the time. What's the big deal if I want to take off my shirt when I go to the beach or even in my own backyard! Sometimes I'm working outside cutting my lawn or digging ditches and wearing a shirt gets really uncomfortable. Do I have to wear a shirt when I go into the pool in my backyard too? What is the government going to regulate this too? Please!

This is unexplainable to you, CTVFan? Why am I surprised. The list of things that are unexplainable to you must be infinite. It's bad enough you feel that you should regulate every form of entertainment, but reading your comments now makes it appear you want to regulate back yards. Grow up, already.

Eh, doesn't bother me. Rude in public, but I'll do it in my yard if I'm swinging a pick or something. Um, Jon, where did you say you lived? I have to check this out. LOL.

Some men actually look good with no shirt on outside ;) Some men on the other hand, should not be allowed to even step outside, shirt or no shirt.

If it's hot outside, your shirt is sticking to your back and you're comfortable with your body. Then why not? For some people it's about comfort and others are only advertising. Those are the two main reasons so there's no reason to examine it or figure anything out.

Try mowing a three-acre lawn in Houston, Texas in July. If it's still unexplainable to you, then get your name on the list for a brain transplant ASAP.
