Mon Dec 11 2006Here was an official who stated to Colin Powell: "What good is a modern military machine if you don't use it?" I wonder what the G.I.'s thought of that comment? Also she chastised the press in that it couldn't tell the difference between "war" and "use of military force." I suppose all those lying in the hospitals crippled for the rest of their lives feel better that they were not hurt in a war but in the use of military force. What did they say about the woman who back into the propellers of a running airplane engine? "DISASTER!"

Thu Sep 02 2004She stood by Clinton right down to the bitter end. Anybody who stands with that man automatically gets a Zero in my book. Any woman who stands by a man who mistreats and uses women like he does is not a lady in my book.

Thu Sep 02 2004OK, so the wicked witch of the west has these groty-looking things like monkeys with wings. Watch WOZ, she looks like some of those winged monkey things. Another global one-worlder that would ask the french for a permission slip to defend the US.

Sat Jul 31 2004Failure. She was in way over her head.

Fri Jul 23 2004She was/is an embarrassment to America. Nowhere near qualified to be Secretary of State, making the US look (again) like a paper tiger in world affairs, attempting to look effeminitely tough but unable and unlikely to back any of it up no matter who attacked whatever target (WTC-93, USS Cole, Khobar Towers, etc.) It is hard to forget how fervently and sincerely she assured the American people Clinton was telling the truth about the Lewinsky situation and how after Clinton 'fessed up, she felt no apology or explanation was necessary. The Secretary of State, lied to by the President, her truthfulness and credibility on the line, no remarks whatsoever. Tell me they didn't all know the truth. Tell me again.

Sat Jul 10 2004A discgrace to all Americans. Her being duped by the Chinese is a hoot. The woman is a complete idiot.

Wed May 12 2004She is a likeable person but was not an effective Sec of State.

Sun May 02 2004She was a total failure as Secretary of State. The liberal media continues to wheel her out on stage when they need a liberal prop.

Sun Mar 21 2004A joke. Her name should be Madeleine Not-at-all-bright.

Fri Mar 19 2004As Secretary of State in the Clinton administration, Madeline Albright was a proponent of using American power to engage in wars for soft humanitarian purposes rather than using realpolitik. Reality is that the Republican and Democratic approaches to foreign policy making varies very little. Democrats give lip service to the naive strategy of collective security and Republicans give creedence to foolhardy policies of unilateralism. Albright believed that getting involved in wars in such far-flung places like Kosovo would ultimately aid in American interests. The severe overextension of American troops abroad began under her and Clintons watch. While they do have good intentions, that is not good enough. You have to be right every once in a while. Her acolytes claim that she promoted an active US foreign policy, but I would consider it half-handed and intellectually flimsy. Like most of our leaders, she failed to grasp the meaning of American power and our mandate at the end of the Cold... Read more

Mon Jul 28 2003One would think that, as a Jewish refugee from Europe in the 1940's, she would have some sense of compassion for the sufferings of others. One would think that, as an immigrant, she would be sensitive to the importance of diversity and culture. One would think these things, but they'd be dead fu--ing wrong. Albright is a twisted psychopath who should have ended up in Auschwitz, so the world wouldn't have had to sit by and listen to her claim that 500,000 dead Iraqi children were a reasonable price to pay. It's only reasonable when you don't have to pay it, bi+ch.

Fri May 02 2003She's a tough old goat. I like Ms. Albright. She is a tough cookie and not afraid to speak what is on her mind. Don't be fooled by her matronly appearance...she is a pitbull, and has done alot for our nation. I really gained respect for her recently when I saw her grilling a French "diplomat" for France's stance, or lack thereof, on the war effort in Iraq. Way to go, Madeleine!

Thu Apr 03 2003How many friends do we have now? At least she didn't make the whole world against us like Insta-Enemy-Shrub, who never meant an ally he couldn't insult.

Tue Jun 12 2001One of the best representatives of America in a long time. Her stances on Bosnia and Kosovo reflect an empathy and sincere desire not to see our boys, as well as other NATO peacekeeping forces, die unnecessarily. Like it or not, the world sees the U.S. either as a meddlesome imperialist (which we have shown ourselves to be - witness Lebanon, Grenada, Somalia, Vietnam, etc.) or as representatives of the little guy who is being harrassed by larger 'bullies' (such as sticking up for democratic elections in Haiti, Panama, the Philippines, South Africa, Namibia, etc.) While most of these examples did not take place while she was secretary of state, she has proven herself more understanding of other peoples and cultures and has not seen the world in U.S.-good, everyone-else-evil terms. Bill Clinton may have goofed with Aspin, but Albright has proven to be a gem. I hope she continues her truly humanitarian ways.

Sat Dec 30 2000In American foreign policy you generally have a choice between varying levels of amorality, though it's usually portrayed as a conflict between idealists and pragmatists. Albright is usually portrayed as an idealist, which means that she trumpets about human rights when it suits "American interests", whatever those are. In practice, she's the one who was asked on 60 Minutes whether the price of the Iraqi sanctions was worth it. The price has been hundreds of thouaands of dead children. She said the price was worth it. She's no worse than the typical American policymaker. If she'd been a Republican there's a chance the liberal Democrats might have crucified her for that remark, as she deserved. But support for a policy whose main effect has been the starvation of Iraqi children has been bipartisan, so she got away with it. That's been the usual pattern with American foreign policy and human rights, with a few rare exceptions.

Tue Dec 19 2000Mo, Larry, Curly, Curly Joe, Shemp and Madeline. This lady looks like my 10th grade English teacher- who by the way, looked like Grandpa from the Adams Family. I have never, ever, ever heard of her doing anything, ever, ever! Rating- pitiful and well, just pitiful.

Sat Dec 09 2000She is someone I wouldn't trust with the future of this country. She has made terrible decisions and followed terrible orders from a terrible president.

Fri Nov 17 2000She needs to quit hiding things from the American public. We're grown adults, we have brains and can figure out the game she and Clinton are playing with the people of the world.
by grimdrifter
Fri Nov 10 2000I find her decisions motivated by a political agenda rather than by what is morally right. When war erupted in Ruwanda and Christians were being slaughtered by enemy tribes, foriegn countries were ready to intervene but did not because of threats of sanctions from Secretary of State Albright.

Thu Nov 09 2000Madeline Halfbright did you say! This woman has no business fooling around with our image overseas. She has no more sense than any other democrat.

Wed Nov 08 2000Ms. Albright has gone places and done things no one before her has done - and has overcome the "stigma" of being a woman in many parts of the world. This lady is a class act.
