I've only ever seen these as non filtered standard size; this is part of it's no-apologies old-time cachet: there are no trendy flavored versions or various "lights".   ; A mellow, smooth, toasty flavor; some buttery characteristics akin to Camel but not as sweet; does not have the caramel notes found in Camel.   Moderate burn speed makes up a bit for the short length.  Very enjoyable.

L/S non filter is without a doubt the best smoke ever. killer buzz and pure tobacco taste without harshness on the throat unlike reds etc.. only downside is the price ;\

hands down my favorite cigarette. unfortunately for me, the only place i can find these are at cigar shops, and they cost about $9 a pack.the taste and harshness took a little while to getting used to, but once i did, i fell in love. they also deliver an awesome nicotine buzz which is always a plus. lucky strike means fine tobacco, bitches!

As far as I'm concerned, if you're going to smoke a cigarette, smoke a f***ing cigarette. Nothing pairs with Jack Daniels quite like Luckies, and nothing short of rolling your own is going to be as badass. Filters dissolve a lot of the flavor and mess with the smoke consistency. There never will be a cigarette as tasty as a Lucky. Just remember to smoke it Lucky side out, lest Charlie get you!

I reviewed this cigarette a long time ago and I said they were horrible. Well, my brother found out I didn't like them so he bought me a carton of them and told me to smoke every cigarette. And I did. At first I didn't like the harshness and the tobacco pieces going into my mouth. But eventually they grew on me. The harshness tamed my throat, so now I can withstand any unfiltered cigarette just fine. And the taste is by far the best unfiltered taste I have ever experienced. I also taught myself how to not get pieces of tobacco in my mouth when smoking. As much as I love these cigarettes, I can't afford them. I also bought a carton pack of Lucky Strike Reds (filters) off of a duty-free site. Better than a Marb red, and in my book, practically nothing beats a marb.

i smoked for many years. lucky strikes were and will always be my brand. i dont know why everybody has such trouble finding cheap luckies or even filtered luckies. i bought them for around 4.50 a pack at just about every gas station ive been in. i can get filtered luckies at the walgreens down the street.

I am puzzled as why people keep saying the filtered Lucky Strikes aren't available in the US. I see a couple of empty packs of LS Filtered per week around my campus. Perhaps they have been brought back recently (who knows). But, goodness to mary, I love Lucky Strikes (unfiltered, please and thank you). I've been smoking for 3 years or so, working my way from Marlboro Lights, stopping briefly at American Spirit Black (the perique blend), and finally settling on American Spirit Regulars, up until the beginning of last summer, when a co-worker shared a Lucky Strike with me as we set up a couple rock climbs. Hot Damn, what a cigarette; I smoked the bleedin' thing down past the little logo. Unfortunately, $9 a pack was a little steep for me at the time, so I went through maybe 3 or 4 packs and had to resort to rolling (first Midnight Special, ugh, to Bugler, eh, to American Spirit Perique blend, delicious). I wish Lucky Strike packaged rolling tobacco, because as much as I love prerolled c... Read more

I'm not a regular smoker... I bum one off a friend maybe once or twice a week. Due to this, I've tried many types of cigarettes. Unfiltered Luckies are the only unfiltered cigarettes I can smoke, and they're also the only cigarette that I've liked enough to buy my own pack of. Very smooth, mild taste, strong buzz, and easy to smoke. I feel like the dozen or so I've smoked have shaved a significant number of years from my life, but damn, it's worth it. I don't care what people have to say about how they used to be better; these have got to be the finest smokes in the U.S.

I first bought a pack of Lucky Silvers hen I was on holiday in Germany and liked them from the offset. I have subsequently tried John Player Special Blues, Marlboro Reds and Lights, Mayfair Menthols (really, REALLY don't go there (there's a reason Mayfair's are cheap) and Lucky Reds (filters). By far the best are Lucky Reds. The toasted flavour is really worth paying for, it is unique. Most tobacco is sun-dried but toasting does improve the flavour and makes for a tasty cigarette. While the price is high in the UK (£5.73-£5.89 from Tesco), its worth paying as the Reds burn fairly slowly and have a lasting flavour. Definitely recommended for a great tasting, smooth and enjoyable smoke. 5*

Here is my long await review of the ironic unfiltered cigarettes known as lucky strikes. Are these ciggs worth the $9 price tag or are they serverly overrated. I would have to say they are worth the price. Normally I roll my own to save money, however I had today off from work and decided to try a pack. Excellent robust flavor with an extra treat, a strong nicotine rush. I am going to be very sad when I finish the pack and have to go back to rolling bugler. The taste of this cigarette can only rival that of American spirits in my opinion. I can see why my grandfather smoked these from the time he was nine to about the age of fifty-five ( he quit then and lived another 20 years). Normal I hate to pay ommiage to a staple of the conservative era of the 1950's and prior ( unless you are talking about music), but these are good quality smokes. Damn fine considering this was popular in the era of schafer beer and pabst blue ribbon. PS, I think I may have to revise my reviews of unfiltered ca... Read more

Delicious. The fact that you can't find filtered here in the U.S. isn't a big deal. Just get yourself a Targard and enjoy the delicious taste of a Lucky.

Luckies were the BEST filtered cigarette sold in North America. The taste was its "taste" alone nothing could come close to Luckies, nothing. Full rich robust with a hint of brown sugar and a slight prune taste, and of course a toasted flavor that brought out the tobacco's blended in Luckies to the forefront of each smoke. Sadly Lucky Filters are no more in the U.S. after RJR bought out B&W some years ago. The non-filtered version is still made...but the taste and quality has gone way down since the merger. I miss my Luckies, and have tried every single brand to find a replacement for them, but NOTHING COMES CLOSE. The old Pall Mall's made by B&W were close to the same taste and smell, but RJR has destroyed those aswell. I wish that one day soon Luckies will return to America...as the pack said "An American Original"...but im sure RJR would find a way to ruin 'em. So if you find yourself reading this review in Europe or the UK and your a smoker PLEASE GO OUT AND BUY YOURSELF A PACK OF ... Read more

Classic... classic classic classic. One of the most popular cigs from, i believe, the '50's to late '70's. I heard about people smoking these in Vietnam. Good and strong, I've never had one, in fact I didn't even know they still made these. But from all the stories I've heard, I'm giving it a 5.

Finally found a pack of Lucky Strike filterless, not easy to find (tried about 15 smoke shops that had all the "chic" stuff). Just smoked one, then another. You bet they're toasted, hell I'm toasted right about now. This is the best tasting and strongest goddam cigarette I've ever had.

This is a great smoke! I loved the nutty toasted flavor. I smoked Camel Turkish Silver for 2 years then quit smoking entirely. A year later stress at college started piling up and for some reason I picked up a pack of luckies. They where great! Even on my lungs that had a whole year to heal up I had no problems puffing on this unfiltered cigarette. I didn't need the added expense though. In my area it's $40 dollars for a carton of these. So I decided to just quit smoking all together again. It was good while it lasted though. If I ever feel the need to get a pack again I will probably order online. This is my brand now!

Although I am one of those individuals who is not so bothered by camel light's "new blend". I have been thinking of switching smokes. I freakin love lucky strikes, but where I live they dont sell luckies and when they do they are non-filtered (since I smoke very little non filtered are too harsh)...they sell plenty of camel lights and malboro..but i hate malboro ...But man...original filtered lucky strikes are my all time favorite brand. Try em out!

One of the finest cigarettes ever made. The filtered version has a very rich taste, but is also smooth, it's blended with toasted Burley and also Virginia and Oriental. Althought L.S. Filters is a very popular brand worldwide isn't available to the US.    The unfiterd version is only available in the US,Greece,France,Spain,Germany, very strong cigarette, excellent aroma, unique taste, created for smokers who knows what they want and choose s/th superior. In the back of a Greek unfiltered pack you can read "Lucky Strike a blend of American,Oriental and other choice tobaccos. It's toasted,Estd 1871" ,down you can see the logo L.S./M.F.T. = Lucky Strike/Means Fine Tobacco,do they tell the truth? Absolutelly YES.   It's ironic that a brand used to called An American Original, almost can't find in the US. American smokers, don't let the finest cigarette ever made, die in your country, you create it.

very nice "classic" cigarrette with a truly toasted taste, like its been homecooked. They are pretty hard on the lungs and give a headrush like no other, but its unfiltered so eh. Other than camel wides they are the only non menthol (and only non filter) cigarrette i can smoke (and like) tho i consider these delicacy cigarrettes that are best saved for a rainy day and not to be chain smoked until your coughing up blood and cancer chunks. http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/6281/200pxluckys trikecigju9.jpg  Oh and i bought mine at K mart for fucking $5.15! Newports are only $3 at the gas station! No wonder Kmart is going out of business.... but yea they are hard to find, msot tobacco shops in the US dont even carry them

I agree with all the positive comments, these were one of the first brands I had and definitely one of the best.  They have a distinct, strong aroma but still not too harsh or overpowering, they also tend to be one of the less expensive brands, I would say they are more for men I shared one with a friend of mine who is female and she liked them but did not prefer them, to be honest I have only had the unfiltered but they get a 5/5 from me.

Only have had a drag off a buddies cig a few weeks before the filters back in my old town got dicontinued in the US. The taste was extremely smooth, and a unique taste that could only be described as 'toasty'. They also didnt leave an unplesant taste in my mouth. I got to say, no cigarette has ever matched up to that one single drag, I've tried the unfilters though, and still smoke em every once and a while, but its defenetly not the same. Im thinking about buying a carton online, seeing how cheap they are in europe. 5/5

Filtered Lucky Strikes along with Lucky Strike Ligh ts are simply the best cigarettes I've ever tried,  and I've tried many. The flavor is incredibly distinctive, with that toasted flavor that reminds me of hickory or cedar. So many sublte complexities of flavor in a L ucky Strike The smoke itself is smooth but has some kick to it, but it's not overly harsh... it's just right. The unfortunate thing is that Lucky Strike has discontinued the filters and the lights in the US. Lucky Strike unfiltereds are still available of course, but I don't like unfiltered cigarettes. If you can find a pack of Lucky Strike Filters or Lucky Strike Lights, don't hesitate to buy it. They can be expensive, but this is a first-class cigarette.

These are the all-time classic cigarettes, they are not as strong as camels or chesterfields, but very rich in tobacco taste and have a nice kick to them too. The toasted flavor is unique, and not harsh. They get the job done, and are great if you want a great smoking experience.

I was recently in Europe, Barcelona to be exact and I tried lucky strike reds and silvers and since I didn't smoke one after the other I can't make a direct comparison, but while smoking each pack I kept thinking that it was the best filtered cigarette I've ever had...probably partially due to my not having one for 3 days prior but regardless, gets a 5, I recommend them. EDIT: Bought some non filters locally, still delicious. I've found my brand. EDIT #2: Very recently, I found a place which sells the filtered version and, while slightly different from the ones in Spain, they're by far my favorite brand. Definitely worth trying.

One word....fantastic. I've been looking all over Hawaii for a pack of these and last night my friend showed up at my room and tossed them too me.  Don't know where he got em, still gotta ask him but these are great.  They have a great taste in my opinion and are really strong; i'm feelin the buzz off of them. Only thing I don't like much about em is that for the first couple drags I keep spitting little tobacco bits out but I pretty much expected that from a cig with no filters.  Awesome cigarette though.

You haven't really had a Lucky Strike until you have the unfiltered version. It captures the 'toasted' flavor better than the filtered variation. However, both have won me over and I started smoking them this summer. They are very tasty and have a wholesome, pure tobacco taste. They are also expensive, a dollar more than your standard pack.

I don't do unfiltered cigarettes--they're just way too strong for me.  However, I do love the lights, despite the fact that they're unbelievably expensive and hard to find.  It's good to switch to them once in a while, but just be prepared to spend $7 on a pack.

RJ Reynolds gained control of this brand sometime back in 2005. They totally changed the product. Anyone that smoked this brand (Non-filter) before the takeover had to have noticed the change. There is alot of reconstituted tobacco in these now and more additives. They even reduced the circumfrence of the cigarette. The 21st century caught up to this cigarette. I loved this brand when it was manufactured by Brown & Williamson and American Tobacco -- IT WAS PERFECT! I now roll my own using Two Timer tobacco by D&R; tobacco.

Not liking unfiltered Lucky Strike is like not liking a cold bottle of Coca-Cola. Luckies are just so classic tasting - sweet, nutty and sooo mild for an unfiltered smoke. I bought a pack in Philly the other weekend and holy $^#% are these things good! It had been a long time...and these really are not harsh (don't pull on them hard, duh!). Buy them only from super busy stores to make sure they're fresh. Stale cigarettes of any kind burn hot and taste harsh. But as far as smokes go, you can't beat the US unfiltered version. Damn good - and PS, the "It's Toasted" comes from the Burley tobacco used in these smokes being fire cured twice, rather than air cured. Gives a much sweeter, milder flavor. I want one right now!
