Though everyone on here probably already knows - the city of Austin has issued a warrant for Thomas Lowry's arrest.  Assuming they find him - there might be a case - so make sure to contact the Austin detective (whose information is listed in previous posts).  This is so infuriating!  For a pic of this guy - and for the story, check out http://www.kxan.com/Global/story.asp?S=7757284.

Sad to say I am ripped off by Thomas Lowry too. I called the bank to request a stop payment on my check but for some reason he was still able to get the money. I already called Austin PD and reported this and apparently this is a massive scam. Thank you for posting! Let's all stay adamant

Hey everyone,Let's call the news stations in Austin, Tx. Lowry was from the graduating class of 1981 from the University of Texas School of Law. I'm sure they wouldn't be proud that their alumni was associated with a scam. The news might be interested in ripped off college students just trying to fullfill their educational goals. What do you think? There are tiplines to call, find them and go.

This test has cut down a few of the smarter people I've known. . .logic and vocabulary are a must. Prayer might be helpful as well. . .

I agree with a previous post that what makes the lsat difficult and frustrating is the fact it tests something you either have or don't. Speedy critical thinking takes time to develop and often times it requires a lot more than a couple month of test preping. With that said, going over "all" previous tests is really the best thing to do. It'll familiarize you with the style of the questions. Make sure you read the understand the solutions. Do lots of practice tests under timed conditions. During the test don't panic and do not lose your clear train of thought. Stay calm and make sure you breath regularly.

Bring a watch, I recieved a 75 raw score on a practice test without any time updates. I usually had three or four problems with a minute left, and that hurt. I would say the reading is almost the same as the SAT nothing to worry about read the passage don't jump to the questions until you've peroused it. The same with the logic problems don't think you'll ace those without first understanding the rules. Secondly, I think its great that there's no learned information on it. Analytical reasoning is something you can develop on your own without your professors help. So if you've forgotten how to spell liebniz or can't remember the area of a circle this test is almost a blank page

I took this one for the hell of it back when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do, and I found it challenging. It's not so much that the stuff was hard - the issue for me was more staying focused enough to beat the time requirements.

Logical reasoning isn't too hard and reading comprehension, while a little more difficult under the time constraints, isn't a killer either. And honestly the ability to do both of these is something everyone should get from a college education. What makes the test truly difficult is the logic games section. These are very artificial situations that have very little bearing on anything most of us learned, law, or any real situation. My feeling is that it is put on the test to make sure fewer people make 180s than would otherwise do so. Of course I say this because the section was a real bear for me. I never took any of the classes that claim to have the magic key to the logic games, though if the GRE is any indication they are worse than useless.

As the other comment noted, the LSAT is essentially a logic and reading comprehension test. The examiniation is not that difficult for those who have clear, objective thinking and can read and comprehend text quickly. Other than that, the time constraints is the biggest obstacle. The bottom line is that the LSAT is actually a fun test that gives a decent measure of how logical the test taker is.

I recently took the LSAT and it was no picnic. Half of the test consists of logic problems which comprises two sections, one section is reading comprehension and one is analytical games which is the most difficult part of the exam not to mention an experimental section that could be any of the aforementioned three and a writing sample. The thing that adds to the difficulty of the test is that you only have 35 minutes to complete a section that can have anywhere from 24 to 27 questions, which you cannot just breeze through. Needless to say, my head was throbbing after I finished.
