Mon Mar 07 2005This is a story about 5- 6 people from San Francisco whose love lives are entangled. The movie bases a lot of its incidents on this improbable scenatrio, but the good acting from the entire cast saves the day.

Tue Dec 02 2003A wonderful ensemble cast give this movie someone for everyone to enjoy watching. The beautiful Joanna Going, Penelope Ann Miller,Annabella Sciorra, and JoBeth Williams all are superb. With some adult themes and content this movie is probably not suitable for young children, but, there is nothing that can be considered dirty in the movie. The male stars are Josh Charles and Jon Bob Jovi of Rock & Roll fame. Sort of a modern "St. Elmos Fire" type of movie.

Fri May 17 2002If you liked "Chasing Amy" but were not totally satisfied with it in some way or another, you might find "Little City" better in many ways. I did. I tend to easily fall for comedies with witty, sarcastic lines, and plots that don't strain themselves in a silly way to happy endings. So this movie really got me. The script, while not offering quite unpredictable twists and turns, was beautifully written and brought to life by a strong cast: Annabelle Sciorra, Penelope Ann Miller, Joanna Going, JoBeth Williams, Josh Charles and Jon Bon Jovi (speaking of this guy, you got to see him in "Moonlight and Valentino" too -- he's awesome). One thing that surprised me was that IMDB didn't list any "memorable quote" from this film, as there's quite a lot that'd make you burst out laughing every 5 minutes or so. Apart from the mysterious acronym "O.G.T." (as later explained by Adam), I particularly enjoyed this dialogue: (Kate) "Every relationship gets a bit domestic after a certain point, we could ... Thu Aug 16 2001Definitely a relationship movie!! This movie is about a group of single adults who each have their own relationship issues and sexual preferences. This movie is about how they deal with these, work through them and accept them via mistakes, counseling/therapy/confession etc. The setting is the small community of San Francisco where it seems everyone knows everyone and therefore secrets and rumors get around quickly. This is the first movie I have seen Jon Bon Jovi in and I was impressed. He actually can act! I thought the movie started out slow, but as it progressed and all the characters were introduced it started to get very interesting and I was curious to watch it all unfold and I wondered who was going to end up with who at the end of the movie! As always Annabella Scioria is great, pretty and believable."Little City" is worth watching, just don't expect it to be thrilling, greatly suspenseful or a tear jerker. I doubt it will stir up too much emotion, but all in all it is a good... Read more

Tue Jun 19 2001Little City provides the viewer with a charged, young energy that seems to have left us behind since the days of movies like "St. Elmos Fire" or "The Big Chill." Seldom does a movie come along that can actually find itself viewable while dealing with an ensemble cast and trying to stick to a cohesive plot. We find all our characters facing their own trials of life in San Franciso. Jon Bon Jovi brings an honest and charming aproach that has been lost from the acting world. It helps his character stand apart at times from the others. Though the supporting cast does throw in some excellent support from Annabella Sciorra (The Sopranos) and Josh Charles(Sport Night). Though it does come up lacking that certain "punch" at the end, I think you will find this movie to be a suprising commentary on growing up under the intense scrutiny of society. Check it out.
