Lincoln Park Zoo (Chicago)

Absolutely unsafe. Sits in an extremely bad neighborhood. Common target for ruthless, murderous armed flash mobs that attack in broad daylight.

The Lincoln Park Zoo is the oldest free zoo in the country. You can make a day of it, by going to the zoo, and then walking over a bridge and going to either North Avenue beach or exploring other parts of Lincoln Park. The staff here is generally nice, friendly and informative.

the workers here treat the animals poorly :(

Beautiful zoo, and completely free - you just walk right in from Lincoln Park. A great place for families or to spend part of a nice day in Chicago.
