Sat Apr 26 2008Great on the big screen. The scenery is the real star in this flick. Wes Studi was terrific.

Thu Aug 09 2007Really good movie. The only negative thing is who cast Daniel Day Lewis in it.He just looks out of place. His adoptive father and brother though are great.

Thu Oct 06 2005It's probably a little too long, but Daniel Day Lewis does a good job as a backwoodsman in the French and Indian War in North America (1754-1763).

Wed Oct 05 2005Snotty British Officer - You do realize there is something of a war on. How do you plan on going west to Kee-en-tuck-ee?!? Hawkeye - Well, I reckon I'll head north and turn left real sudden like.

Thu Mar 11 2004The last action sequence in this movie is the best I've ever seen. It starts with Duncan tied to a stake and set on fire in a trade which allows the others to go free, then Daniel Day Lewis shoots Duncan from afar so that he won't suffer, then one of the English sisters jumps off a mountain and commits suicide rather than be a captive of the Moguia Indians, then the Mohegan son fights nobly but is killed and pushed off the mountain, then the father kills the Moguia Indian; all with some great background violin music. I get teary-eyed every time I watch it.

Tue Dec 16 2003Just dreadful. But what else could it be, having that awful book as a basis.

Fri Aug 01 2003Well put together. Although my concentration was strained in areas, it seems to be one of those movies I don't mind watching over and over again.

Mon Dec 03 2001Swoony piece of crap. Maybe I don't like being force-fed romantice epics via over-obvious soundtracks, acting and direction. Daniel Day Lewis' performance is ridiculous. The one bright spot is the performance of the main villain, which does not stoop to cliches. Sorry, I forget the name of the actor.

Tue Oct 23 2001This film is magnificent! Beautiful to watch, under the control of Michael Manns assured direction. Performances are universally great, especially Wes Studi's evil scout.

Sun Oct 21 2001This is a GREAT movie. Written by James Fenimore Cooper, the film is a great, action-filled look at history through battles. It is the type of movie where you sit there after you see it attempting to contemplate what you just witnessed.

Mon Jan 08 2001The best love story ever! This movie ecompasses all aspects of love between a woman and a man. The historical setting of the revolutionary times in America make it all the more beautiful. The love of a native who falls in love with the daughter of an English general. Their love withstood war, death and time.

Thu Jan 04 2001A retake on the book classic and early original movie of the same name, "Last of the Mohicans," is an engaging epic chronicaling the events of a Mohican, his natural son and adopted white son. This is an epic in its scope, soundtrack, acting, and setting: the French Indian War on the Eastern part of the North American continent.

Wed Jan 03 2001A captivating glimpse at American history during the time of the French and Indian war. Daniel Day Lewis gives a wonderful performance as a courageous white man raised by Indians. A very compelling adventure.

Wed Jan 03 2001I really enjoyed this movie because I love U.S. History. I think this was an excellent movie because it tells the story of the Revolution from a side that most people have no idea about. It is a moving film that aquaints many Americans with a truth that many try to hide->we destroyed Native Americans.

Tue Nov 21 2000It was a great movie and is becoming a classic. One of those movies you'd enjoy to see again. I saw this movie in high school because my teacher loved it too.

Mon Nov 20 2000Beautifully depicted the life of the French Indian War. Good battle scenes, with a romantic and heroic fame to it.

Fri Nov 17 2000I believe it's used too much in teaching students on the way of Indian life, yet it is a good film to watch for your own purpose. It was a little lengthy but I enjoyed watching.

Tue Nov 14 2000Mohicans is a hecka bloody movie, but its got so much emotional stuff. It throws your emotions around. One minute you're yelling "Die!" then you're crying. Everyone should see it.

Thu Nov 09 2000This wasn't really an action movie, but it did have some action in it that made it exciting.

Wed Nov 08 2000Loved this movie. Good leading actress and actor. Both very attractive. I really liked and identified with the strong leading actress's character. Good love story, but very sad too. Good costumes, great action, a little gory/violent. Good plot.

Wed Nov 08 2000Dealt with history and a love story that was action packed and thrilling. Good chick flick but also caters to machoism. Highly recommended.

Tue Oct 31 2000I loved "Last of the Mohicans" because it told of the Native American roots. The "Last of the Mohicans" was directed and produced beautifully. Never once did I get lost or confused in the movie. The main actors were really great taking you into the journey of that era.
