Wed Jan 05 2011Basically, I have had it with Lame Bryant. I think the email thread pretty much says it all. :( Dear Kay, Thank you for your response. I apologize for not being able to respond sooner. I was traveling to see family over the holidays, hence the delay. While it seems Lane Bryant is concerned about taking some form of action to rectify the situation, it falls flat with me. Some things to consider: If you shop at Lane Bryant yourself, you'd understand that a very simple work wardrobe can cost anywhere from $200.00 - $500.00. That's 4 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, a sweater, a bra & some underwear. When I shop at Lane Bryant, it's once per season - because it's very cost prohibitive to shop there. These clothes should last more than a few months. In a lot of cases, they don't even make it a week before they start coming apart. When that happens, I either take them to a tailor, or I sew them back together myself. You are asking me to mail you the offending clothing items for your... Read more

Fri Oct 22 2010MsDiva50 Customer Service needs major overhaul! Date: October 22, 2010 I saw this shoe online and was initially interested in purchasing it. The heel height on this shoe is not available and in my opinion that is a deal breaker. I called Lane Bryant customer service and spoke to Linda out of the Fort Lauderdale call center. She might as well have been a rock. She was not helpful, unconcerned and irritating all in one.I finally called a store and spoke with a salesperson who looked at the shoe and guessed ot was around 3 inches. I asked her to please measure the shoe for an accurate measure and she discovered the shoe was 2 1/2 inches. All in all my experience with Lane Bryant was a horrible one! It will be a while before I shop online or at the store... I am vey dissapointed with their customer service... it needs a major overhaul!

Mon Sep 27 2010I went to the Lane Bryant store in Braintree Mass. a few days ago and was horrified by the aggressive salespeople. We were barely at the doorway with one foot still outside in the mall and these women were calling to us to open a charge card before I even looked at one item of clothing. Salesperson #1 was screaming to us and it was hard to believe that Salesperson #2 couldn't hear it as she approached us and started with THE VERY SAME CREDIT CARD SPEECH. Subsequently, this happened two more times with Salesperson #3 and #4. It's impossible that none of them heard me say "NO I DON'T WANT YOUR CREDIT CARD". While my friend was trying on jeans, another Salesperson #4 said to me "Guess what I'm buying later??? Huh?? Guess?? I'm buying these SPANX".... Really lady? Good for you. Why are you telling me this? Is that your sales pitch and I'm supposed to buy one now? No thanks!...I feel like I was attacked and you won't be seeing me again.

Wed Jun 09 2010Lane Bryant has lousy customer service. I called to change my shipping address in less than an hour after placing the order and the customer service rep said that won't be a problem. I asked that a confirmation email be sent to me. 40 minutes later, when I didnt receive anything I called and only to be told nothing was changed in the system, no record to show that I called and that it was too late for any changes! I asked to cancel my order and they said No, they cant do that too. It's not the first time that I experienced such lousy service. 2 years ago I ordered online and they sent me the wrong colors. They are hiring incompetent reps that lack training to do their jobs right. I would never order online with them ever again.

Tue Jun 23 2009In addition to the reviews that complain of poor customer service in-store, let me add that the corporate customer service is probably worse. I had a major issue with my Lane Bryant credit account (they entered my name erroneously on my account, never sent me a statement, then charged me late fees). The supervisor I spoke with refused to accept any responsibility--although when I pushed, they did waive a few of the late fees but not all. He accused me of waiting to long to contact them and questioned my charge of $144.60, implying that it was excessive. Do yourself a huge favor and if you happen to make a purchase at Lane Bryant, DO NOT sign up for their credit card. It might save you a little at the cash register, but with such poor management overseeing their credit department, it will hurt your credit standing in the long run. Boo to you Lane Bryant.

Tue Jun 24 2008Well if you are a woman who needs plus sized clothing, I guess you have to go somewhere.
by mterneus
Tue Feb 05 2008I used to work at Lane Bryant for two years. I quit about a year and a half ago. The clothing selection that Lane Bryant offers encompasses a wide range of tastes. The work wear line is impeccable for today's plus size career woman. LB also offers great 'after hours' attire. One of my biggest issues with the clothing lies with their jeans. For every 10 pairs I try on, maybe only 1 or 2 will actually work (and no, I am not in denial about my size--trying on things that are too small). The denim used for the jeans stretches out so severely as to make you look like you're wearing jeans that are 2 sizes too big. You can't just remedy this by purchasing jeans of the next size down, either, because it takes about 30 minutes, after fitting wonderfully, for the jeans to sag and stretch. During the time I worked at LB, I do feel that the team I worked with, as well as myself, made wonderful customer service one of our biggest, if not the biggest, priority. However, I have noticed since the ... Read more

Sun Nov 04 2007I love Lane Bryant clothes however the customer service is UGH horrendous. At least at the location closest to me...Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth, GA. I made a personal vow to myself that I would never give that loaction another $ of my money. However about 6 months passed and I said oh what the heck it was a while ago and maybe their service is better. UH big mistake....it's not. Lane Bryant as a corporation needs to make customer service a focus. My rating is soley going to the consistent bad service I have received. Not the clothing.

Mon Aug 27 2007I just recently quit my job at Lane Bryant beczause of school. I understand that a lot of people have problems with the store, but really it's not that bad. I would like to say, they do miss on some clothes. I have this thing I said when we got some new things: "Lane-uh". It basically meant, what were you thinking, Lane? I think they are getting better fitting plus-size women. A few years ago when I was just beginning to wear plus-size, the clothing wasn't so hot. It was a little frumpy-ish. Now, I actually love the store.(Yes, I am a litle biased 'casuse I worked there for a while) The other stores: Macy's, Dilliard's Penny's, etc... just don't have clothes that work for me. They're frumpy, flowy, and just not cute. What makes designers think that a plus-size woman looks good in a shapeless dress/shirt/suit? I'm 23, about to graduate from college, and like the fresher styles Lane Bryant has. They also have pretty work attire. But I know that some of the clothes just aren... Read more

Sat Aug 25 2007I have had trouble with the last two orders I placed with them. With one a completely different item was shipped and with another they shipped to a non exsistent address that was close to mine but did not work. It took weeks to get the clothes and when I did they were badly made and a dissapointment. DON'T SHOP HERE!

Sun Aug 19 2007I tried on & bought a pair of "Right Fit" jeans in the SF store (size Red 4 which I comfirmed on your web site). I packed them on a trip I was taking the next day. When I arrived at my destination I put them on, within 45 minutes they were so large they were literally falling off me! Embarassed, at a beautiful resort I retreated to my suite. Unfortunatly they were the only jeans I packed for a week vacation. I would return them, but I threw out the price tags. When I contacted customer service I received a cookie cutter response, no explanation, nothing. I will not be shopping with them again.

Sat Jul 28 2007I have purchased clothes from Lane Bryant for years, both in-store and from their website. However, I will no longer shop with a business that has such a disrespectful customer service department. I have had a couple of orders arrive in the last year with the incorrect item or a missing item. I contacted the customer service department by email in both cases, and received responses that show that no one ever read my email or tried to understand the problem. If the email had the word "shipping" in it, I get a generic, canned response about how long it takes for a package to arrive. I told them I received the wrong item, and I get a word-for-word reply of their merchandise return FAQ (which told me I could return the item to a store, less shipping charges. Drive over an hour to return item I didn't order? I don't think so!) None of the communcations are helpful. No one ever bothered to apologize for the errors. I will not shop with a company that charges such high prices for med... Read more

Tue May 08 2007Might be good for full-figured people who have trouble finding clothes elsewhere (and they do sometimes have nice-looking clothes). I, however, can get by without them.
by cwhite329
Thu Feb 02 2006Their clothes are way too overpriced. Plus size women can find nice fashions with better quality elsewhere. I do have a pair of black trouser pants from there that I have had for about 2 years and they are still in great shape but everything else sucks and I agree that some of their clothes are too teen oriented.

Thu Oct 20 2005Im 21 years old and wear a size 16 (and lovin it too). I love Lane Bryant, everytime I walk into the store I receive a friendly greeting. I love the styles and the fact that each size is custom made to fit THAT particular size body and not just an increase in fabric. The bras are incredible but i do think that they can add a little more sexiness to some of the lingerie for those of us who feel extremely confident (we all should). Oh and the fact that they now sell seven jeans is great!

Wed Sep 15 2004We( me, my bro, and my mom) went but I waited outside. I saw the inside and the stuff didn't look very promising.
by blue_birds_5
Tue Aug 03 2004Their clothing has steadily declined in quality over the last few years. I have been satisfied with the jeans I've purchased, but everything else falls apart in the wash or shrinks, despite being washed according to the directions. I had a pair of dress pants come apart at the seams the first time I washed them. I had the applique design on a cotton shirt wash right off. I had two sweaters; one shrank and one totally lost its shape. They sell crap!

Thu Jun 24 2004Please read this in its enclosed form to see the process and what happened. It is all well documented.I urge everyone to NOT shop at Lane Bryant. I have taken my last name off for privacy reasons. But I present to you the actual emails that occurred.Read for yourself how I was treated and the completely inadquate responses I got when I got a response.- Sandra B. in CT.*Beth, Waiting to hear what?To have what I said validated by the person who treated me like this?I have never received an APOLOGY from your company in shape or form. Today,I am not surprised.Your company lacks professionalism towards customers.I am totally frustrated with this kind of response. Please, don't email me again. I have no interest in hearing back from you with this kind of wait to hear back from the person who did this attitude.Sounds like I am not being believed.Do you think I would waste my time doing this if it has not indeed occurred? As I said I won't be returning and I will be following through with my ... Sun Dec 28 2003I don't wear plus size clothing but I go in there alot with my sister. I personally like the styles. They carry clothing that is the same style as missy/juniors. I think the clothing could be a little cheaper in price though.

Thu Oct 30 2003LB has improved greatly over the years. When I was first introduced to LB, they only had "old women" clothes. Now, they stay abreast of the latest trends & fashions, so I can show off my curves in style. My only complaint? WAY too much sheer! I have 2 sheer shirts, & that's plenty. But they seem to be stuck in a rut there. A girl can only where so much sheer!
by ladyshark4534
Wed Aug 20 2003Cool clothes, but I wasn't allowed to go in because I was supposedly too "skinny". What the hell?!?!?!?!? I take a size 9 and I'm accused of being anorexic! Jeez! So I was really angry because not many stores are made for very busty girls like myself and I had been looking for stores that were. So I wasn't exactly pleased. Plus, All of the plus size models weren't plus size. I've seen Versace models with bigger hips.

Thu Jun 05 2003I am so disappointed with Lane Bryant. I feel that they are not realistic when it comes to the larger woman. They are frilly and lacy and you know what ladies sometimes big isn't always beautiful especially in one of their outfits. I also found that when you wash the clothes more then once they fall apart. The store used to be great what the heck happened? KellyA

Mon Apr 28 2003I too think Lane Bryant is overpriced, but I don't think their clothing is too revealing. As a matter of fact I feel their clothes are too frumpy, maybe because I am on the smaller end of the size scale to which they cater. Their spring line is "frumpy and frilly" and I think it makes a larger woman look bigger than she really is.

Fri Dec 20 2002I have been treated poorly from customer departments but Lane Bryant sets a new low.10 days before Christmas I placed an order which promised delivery by Christmas if you payed for Express Delivery, great but.I received an email confirming my order and was told I would receive another email in 24-48 hours with details of the order. 48 Hours passes and nothing, send an email and at this writing 2 days later still no response. Called to get a tracking # on day 2 and low & behold when I tried to track it I am told by UPS it is an invalid #. Call back and get the most rude person I have ever dealt with and am told the only # they have cannot be used to track a package and just what did I expect her to do about it.(ATTITUDE)days later package should have arrived but guess what. Call lb again and emplore there help and this time am given a tracking # for UPS, called them and guess what, INVALID #, another call and by this time with Christmas around the corner and a large part of my wife's Ch... Thu Dec 05 2002customer service is non existant! here is my letter to them: I EDITE .... ORDER YOU TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT AS OF THIS MOMENT! NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE HAVE I BEEN TREATED WITH AN INCREDIBLE DESDAIN AND UNPROFESSIONALISM AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED THROUGH DEALINGS WITH LANE BRYANT "CUSTOMER SERVICE "! IT SHOULD BE CALLED CUSTOMER DISSERVICE! THE 800 888 9644 NUMBER THAT YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE. THE RECORDING THAT SAYS: "YOUR CALL WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE ORDER RECEIVED, BY NEXT AVAILABLE OPERATOR" IS AN INSULT TO THE CUSTOMERS EVEN IF THEY SHOULD BE FROM A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY! FROM BEING KEPT ON THE PHONE LINE, MORE THAN 2 HRS. (YES, TWO #@!**&%% HOURS)AND NOT GETTING TO SPEAK TO ANYONE, IS THE MOST INSULTING AND DEGRADING TYPE OF CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP THAT LYNE BRYANT CAN DISH OUT ON IT'S CUSTOMERS! I DEMAND AND DESERVE AN APOLOGY AS WELL AS THAT I BE CONTACTED BY A CORPORATE OFFICER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! FORGET "SOON AS POSSIBLE" I WANT IT TODAY, NOW! I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY O... Read more

Wed Jul 18 2001Well, the times that I have been in a Lane Bryant store with my Best friend, I have noticed that they are catering to a younger look. Personally, I wouldn't mind looking a little younger, nor would most women. I certainly don't think that Lane Bryant is the place to outfit yourself with a work wardrobe but that doesn't mean that they have a poor selection. In fact, just about every large persons store I have been in seem to want to cater to the working man or woman. In my opinion, Lane Bryant is one of the few stores who recognizes that large people have a socail life too. I applaud them in venturing out to make clothes that don't look like burlap bags!
by h_c_b_baggins
Sun Jun 10 2001I have found that there clothes don't last a long time. Lane Bryant is over priced and I think the clothes they carry are too revealing for my taste. I would like to see them carry classy conservative clothes, I would be willing to pay much more money for that.
by castlebee
Fri Feb 02 2001Hey, want to pay more for less and be guaranteed that whatever it is will stretch out of shape or fall apart after the second wash? Well, the next time you see a Lane Bryant store be sure to stop in. And what is it with the horizontal stripes on large sizes - always a great choice if you want to pass up chubby and go directly to rotund. This store has managed to look more upscale than it once was, but they just don't have the quality you pay for.
by bomc2166om
Fri Sep 29 2000They are way overpriced for the quality.
by abby4949om
Wed Mar 15 2000This is a store where I can not only find clothing that is in larger sizes but also long enough. I recently bought 2 pairs of jeans that actually fit, and I require a 34" inseam. I'd have to disagree with the earlier post saying they are catering only to the under-30 set. While I don't buy most of my business clothes there, I certainly do find a lot of casual clothes and fun or dressy pieces that fit and are flattering. It may depend on the buyer at each particular store location.
by aka_5174om
Wed Mar 15 2000Lane Bryant is OK with some clothes. They do have some very poor quality things. Some of their stuff shrinks alarmingly even in cold water. They need to sell longer shirts. (not many large women want there midrift to show) They also need stores outside of malls! Why are Women's large clothes so much more expensive than Men's. If I want jeans or shirts you will find me in the Men's stores.
by orbitssis
Sat Mar 11 2000Lane Bryant carries all sorts of sizes in classy and popular outfits. Most "women's" stores or catalogues carry ugly outfits that look like tents or table cloths. Lane Bryant makes a "woman" feel and look her best.
by qofc4893om
Sat Mar 11 2000here's a store that is suppose to be for the larger women. but, now they have turned into the larger teen and twenty store. by doing this they are alienating the over 30 shopper who could care less about stripes up the sides of there pants and patches on jackets. they will need to make a seperate department in there store for this business of the teens and twenties and re-enter the over 30 fashions back into there stores.
